I have the 3 LED version of this and that puts out a tonne of light, 8 LED's should be a metric shit-tonne of light.

    Thanks for the post, Clear

I've been using the 3 LED and Xiaomi lights for camping. Heaps better than those $20 lights BCF and co sell.

I'm going to buy this and then leave the 3LED on top of my PC for whenever I have to dive down there and fix something

        • that's actually a good idea. you'd get the light source from exactly where you'd need it.

    • You're not wrong. These things scare the local possums I'm sure.

Want a warm white night light, sounds too bright though haha

    • you would probably want the Xiaomi LED usb light, though it's been a little while since we have had a good $1 deal for those

      • but this looks better as in transparent stick seems more high class than rubbery blue sleeve

The white version however is elegant and graceful like a swans neck.

          @xev: that's what she said

I've got one of them and it's blinding . In cool white

    This or the Xiaomi Yeelights?

    • +2

      Xiaomi or bikies…

      • +6

        Bikies aren't that bright.

        • +3

Expect bikies soon for a comment like that

          @Blue Cat: I don't get the joke.

IMO thethe 5x 3 LED lights or flexible Xiaomi lights are better deals.

    • why ?

      • +1

Xiaomi is bright, flexible and adjustable. Well built with diffuser.
(Granted I can't really tell how bright this is by comparison)

The ol' 3 LED ones were just 10c lol and also pretty bright. Nice and tiny for being in the bag.

Or maybe I'm justbiased cos I already have too many of both so no motivation to get this one >_<

  • Could anyone give me some guidance on cheap means for a power source using eneloops or others for these?

    Thanks

    Interesting…
    This 8 led … 500 ma / 200 lm
    The 3 led … 490 ma / 300 lm

    I love led lights XD

  • Would this work to provide backlighting for my TV?

    • Yes.

  • Hey Clear, they have some good toys on sale at the moment, but shipping really kills it. Any coupons for fixed shipping ( or free?)

Lemme see if I can work some magic on Serena.

    • Message here directly and she might be able to give you a coupon for specific items.

  • What's the power consumption like on these?

    • +1

      2.5 Watts (being that it's specs quote 500mA and 5V, and P=IV)

  • I wish it had a sensor (great for dark corridors at night).

    • …and plugged into a powerpoint.

  • Expired?
    shows $2.20 now

    • Looks like it
