Sensational timing. I'm about 5 minutes away from the nearest DJ and desperately need new sunglasses.

    • +1

Great! Let us know which style you end up getting :)

  • +3

Sure, I'll post stock levels at DJ in Sydney CBD.

    • +2

No stock of cancer council sunglasses. Other brands aren't discounted, at least on the shelves.

      • Damn, sorry to hear. Click & collect might be your best bet then

      • +2

Looks like stock is in - just walked into DJs CBD (market street entrance) and it's in the main sunglasses area.

        • I see two small shelves with sunglasses. Ray Ban, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Carrera. No cancer council.

          Weird.

        • @b2dz: In the sunglasses area, it's closer to the side of the piano. There's a "50% off" red sign above that shelf.

        • @b2dz: I hope you ended up finding a pair you like!

      • +1

You probably need to head to where the perfume and cosmetic area is at. There's still plenty at around 4.30pm today.

        • Thanks both. I'm heading back there shortly.

I went to the men's suit/shirt section was. Maybe on another floor.

          Thanks.

        • @b2dz: Head to the Elizabeth Street store. If you see the handbags section, it's just near there.

        • @deal junkie:

Yep, that's where I was. It's a large store so not quite sure which handbag section you're referring to, but I'll have a better look this time. Cuddles and kisses if I find something.

I got a pair of cancer council Atherton sunnies a few months back (from just sunnies.com). They look just like ray bans and they're polarised and only cost about $50. Build quality is very good too, not flimsy and won't break on you.

Don't know why people pay hundreds of dollars for similar sunnies, especially when they're not even polarised

    • $20 - 30 for a pair of quality sunnies are pretty cheap, considering that Rayban in general cost $150+, within that price range it would beat most of the competitors.

    • +1

Fot the logo & brand name - just to show off how stylish they are and how much money they can afford to spend on a pair of sunglasses.

    • How is their sizing compared to other popular sunnies? I was eyeing that pair and DJ doesn't show the sizes, so I am not sure how they would fit large faces.

      • I'm not sure, standard sizing I would think. But the Bondi suits larger faces due to the larger frames (as also mentioned by Ozjoey below)

        • Cheers. Will check those if any of my local DJ stores have stock available.

Also save 50% off on full-priced sunglasses from Mimco, Oroton, Agenda, Cancer Council, Fiorelli and Country Road.

  • Currently sporting the Cancer Council Bondi #1303935 #Ferris_Bueller's_Day_Off_Sunnies. Recommended.

Oh yeah, the Bondi is one of my faves. Highly recommended to those who cannot decide between styles.

      • +2

I wear them driving the larger frame blocks out the sun's rays well and its good that they are polarised as well.

      • Thanks. Just ordered a pair. Never really worn sunglasses before, these will do just fine.

        • +1

Not a problem. Hope you enjoy them.

Error: Sorry, an error has occurred while trying to retrieve the inventory status of this product.

Anyone else getting that when trying to checkout?

    • +1

I got that when buying something the other day. I changed the click and collect location and it worked. I assume the stock wasn't really there for my original store. I hadn't seen the product when I had been in the store a few days earlier, so had been surprised to see it come up online there.

      • ah. I was get them delivered instead. Tried different browsers, even my phone.. same error. oh well, next time.

        • They probably didn't have stock in the online warehouse (assuming they have one?)

        • @realfancyman: must be the case. I'm gonna try deb3103's suggestion and price match at Ray's Outdoors tomorrow.

  • +2

There are some on Catch as well if you are already with Club Catch:
    https://www.catch.com.au/search?query=cancer+council

    • From $15.99! Styles limited & not as good in my opinion.

      • +1

Yeah, and you can't try them on. If you walked into a David Jones store, you could try them on.

  • +1

If you have CBA credit card, shop online @ DJs to earn extra 7 points per dollar. You must open DJ's link via NetBank.

  • +3

FYI - Rays outdoors sells cancer council sunglasses AND price matches . Athertons are out of stock at DJ's online but my local Rays had 1 pair left

    • Good to know, great tip!

  • The sale had been out for a good few days. Missed the last one but first of the ranks. Bought 3 types that id be eyeing but noticed if i tried to get two of each it wouldn't goi through the checkout. Not sure if this meant there was one glasses only of each style. They def never have In store stock thigh

  • Sorry, an error has occurred while trying to retrieve the inventory status of this product.

  • Thanks, grabbed a pair :)

  • +1

    Thanks, got them Bondi sunglasses.

    • +1

      Likewise!

    • +1

Great. You will enjoy them as they are of decent quality and the lens is great protecting your eyes.

  • out of stock

  • +1

i think the sale will end after this weekend. It has stated off promotion super weekend on my invoice.

  • +1

Thanks for the heads up. Was going to get the Beechworth style but after trying them on in another store, decided on the Bondi. Now I'm one of your cool cats. :-)

  • +1

Excellent recommendation on the Bondi sunglasses, they look great. Ordered.

  • +2

Plenty of Cancer Council options at Burwood Westfield. They have more in the drawer if you can't find them on display.

  • +1

Thanks OP, got a pair for me and a pair for my wife.

I got Bondi but only cos it was the best of a limited men's range.
I've had a wraparound sports pair for years and there were a couple of styles on those lines, but they don't offer much coverage.
I have fairly narrow temples so wayfarer-style broad frames tend to stick out a mile. I'm usually limited to aviator-type or wraparound sports glasses.
Today, I was about to select a slightly feminine pair when I spotted a pair of Bondi - being a unisex style they don't stick out too far on me.

  • +1

great bargain op. Good polarised glasses are usually about $50. Got two for 50! yay

    • +1

      😎😎

    • About 40 minutes later the sale was reversed. No notification, no nothing. Only saw it in my statement.

  • Nice find. Will head in to my local today. The "Logan" looks nice, and apparently in stock. Always great to have spare sunnies.

    • Name reminds me of the wolverine too

  • -1

    Only women's left?

    • The Bondis which are unisex are showing as in stock in Melbourne on the site!

  • The Kurnell is still available for a decent pair of wrap around beach sun glasses. Similar design to Oakleys I reckon.

What’s your thoughts on tortoise shell wayfarer sun glasses on blokes? Do I need to look like Jeremy Irons?

  • Got two pairs this morning from Bourke St mall in Melb, quite a decent range available. The sales guy was super friendly too..

    • Which ones did you get? I'm curious..

  • +1

Wollombi and the logans for running etc

  • +1

Great find, thanks OP! First pair of sunnies bought online, purely based on recommendations. Hope the Bondi sunnies don't let me down

  • +1

    Got the Bondi, thanks OP!

  • Lots of them at Macquarie Centre. Luckily I went to try them because the Bondi didn't feel quite right for me. Bought the Boulder instead.

  • Bondi is unavailable for delivery. The nearest local store is 1 hour + by public transport. Should I?

    • Is there a rays outdoors closer to you with it in stock? Deb3103 above pointed out that they price match

      • That's alright, just order for C&C at Malvern central, VIC. Guess I'll take a walk to Malvern.

  • +1

Thanks OP! Managed to get one on hold at a store. Haven't paid but they should still be able to offer 50% off given that it ends 28/1 right?

  • Just want to point that this isn't actually a fantastic deal. This is good if you exclusively buy from David Jones but these glasses are just the same as the ones you get at petrol stations.

I actually bought a pair of these from David Jones and on the way to my car walked by a newsagent and actually noticed they sold exactly the same "Cancer Council" brand glasses for the same 50% off price. So I actually went ahead and bought another pair because they actually had more range.

    • +1

Ouch.I'll probably never buy full price Cancer Council sunnies at DJ thanks to your info

    • +4

Sure, I don't think anyone here is under the impression that these sunglasses can only be bought/bought on sale from DJs only or that they have the best quality/materials (eg glass lenses, which you're not going to get with $20 polarised sunnies). Cancer council sunnies are sold in a variety of stores. It happens that currently DJs have them on sale (Myer also has them on sale from time to time) and I'm not aware of any other places where you could access the range DJ carries for a lower price now (except for COTD as someone else has pointed out earlier which have a smaller selection for cheaper prices especially if one has club catch already).

Thanks for sharing the fact that we could also get these fantastic sunnies at half off elsewhere though. I know my nearest newsagent don't carry CC sunnies but good on you for finding one that sells a large range and have them on sale at the same prices as DJs. For others, DJs may be a lot more convenient - you can buy online or in stores, without having to hunt down an obscure newsagent that a) carries these sunglasses and b) has them on sale @ 50% off.

  • Thanks so much - treated myself to a couple of pairs of Fiorelli sunnies at half price too.

  • Do they have polarised ones? (Any idea to find polarised one less than $50)

    • +2

      They're pretty much all polarised.

  • +1

This is an excellent deal. I lost a pair of Bondi sunglasses and replaced them two years ago. The lens is comparable to other more expensive brands. I much prefer them to my girlfriends raybans. If you take them to the beach just clean of the sunscreen and sand as the plastic on my frames are starting to peel.

  • +1

Cheers mate, just grabbed a pair from DJ's Perth. Perfect as fishing sunnies.

  • +1

I bought a great pair of sunnies at David Jones Chatswood. Thanks for the post

  • +1

Good value for polarized sunnies, got the last pair of Bondi from behind the counter. The lens quality is excellent and definitely a good alternative to Ray Ban. Cheers OP.

  • A lot of stock in sydney cbd

  • Looks like the sale is still on. I am liking the aviator style Coober Pedy but need to stop buying more…
