For every $20.66, $20.65 will be used to fund the development of a newer, shinier red button to launch the nuclear bombs, engraved with the words "Our Dear Leader"

      • +5

I would have plus-voted earlier but I was queueing for a ticket for the rice lottery.

        • +1

Showing respect comes before feeding your face. Next time, it's the Gulag.

        • @strangeloops66: Buying rice lottery tickets funds North Korea's dominance of world sport.

    • What's the meme here, I don't get it?

  • +8

also should be easier to use at night to browse OzBargain without having to lift the whole phone off.

If this happens to you we might have to have some kind of self-exclusion program, kind of what RSL clubs and casino's have.

    • Fairly certain I'm online 18 hours a day. Not quite high enough for the self-exclusion program.

  • +2

The Tronsmart Wireless Charger should charge faster because of the 2 coils

The number of coils in a wireless charger doesn’t really increase the charging speed per se, it just increases the size of the charging zone. On a single coil charger, the receiving coil in the phone needs to be aligned perfectly, or it won’t charge / will charge slower. With multiple coils, the phone can be placed anywhere over the larger area of the coils, so it’s less picky about positioning.

When aligned, they should charge the same (all other things being equal - although it appears these have different output as well).

    • +1

I've updated the description to exclude the charging and included the charging area. Thanks

  • +1

    Thanks O' Glorious Leader!

    • +3

please, only address me as Dear Leader

      • +2

        Supreme Leader?

      • +1

        Or "the sexiest man alive"?

      • +1

        All hail Kim Wrong'Un!

      • How dare you to impersonate me!!! I AM your TRUE Supreme Leader! My avatar is the proof that I am the one who has a bigger nuclear button!

      • Your majesty Admiral General President Prime Minister?

  • +1

    Made in North Korea?

    • +3

      Sadly no, China

      • Damn never owned anything made in North Korea. Will have to pass until production starts in the north. Then I can charge my Samsung on it.

  • +1

Will this charge my nuclear war head?

I'd be interested to know how noisy the cooling fan is. Especially if its going to be next to me while I sleep

    • Never send anything like this before.

    • +1

Well… Even if it's near silent, the silence of your sleeping space I hope is more silent than a small fan going 800rpm :)

  • +1

Where are you pulling the 9A from on the Blitzwolf one? [email protected]=11.7W (blitz) vs [email protected]=9W (tron)

    • Yep… +1 to you sir. Can maths. But was this a trick description :) Since it's 9v not W up the top :O

But 10W is def incorrect. I call false advertising!

Edit: I see it has been fixed while I was typing :)

      • +1

sorry it was just an error in the table

        • Thanks for the fixup :) It's 10pm, need to chill

  • +1

    Thanks Chairman Kim

  • good for charging note 8?

    • Yep. The Note 8 supports Fast Qi Charging.

      • How about the iPhone 7 plus?

        • +5

iPhone 7 Plus does not support wireless charging.

  • +3

This does not come with the wall power adapter to power the wireless charger docking cradle. FYI.

    • Thanks for pointing this out. Anyone got any recommendations for a wall adapter to work with this?

    • +1

Although does come with a USB A to USB C cable to my surprise. One metre I think.

  • Does anyone know how long it will take to get delivered? (approximately)

    • -3

from empty to full: 2hrs44mins to 3hrs25mins (depend on your device). LOL…

  • will this work with an iphone x with a magnetic plate on the back that mounts in my car?

    • +1

i'm not an expert but it might interfere with the wireless charging so porabbaly not

    • I've tried 3, Am yet to find one that does. I have a thin Spigen case with metal plate for the dash magnet .

      No charge

      • Thanks mate, I’ll pass on it then, abit of a bummer

    • The only decent case I've found that supports this is the ipitaka mag case. They also have a magnetic car mount that will charge it also.

*I haven't used one yet, but will be ordering very shortly. Reviews on whirlpool are favourable

  • +1

Thanks for the table! If it makes it easier to browse OzBargain its worth buying.

  • how does it compare in terms of features to Samsung fast wireless charger?

    EDIT: Bought one anyway

    • Cheaper, extra coil for better alignment and is basically a phone stand.

  • +1

    Thanks OP, ordered one

  • +2

I would be wary buying from these guys. Check some of the issues occurring with Xiaomi Mi A1 that a number of us purchased recently (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/354006?page=1#comment-5545…). This advertised Fast Postage via AU Direct shipping but this has not occurred., Cheers

  • +1

Do these wireless chargers still consume electricity when there's no phone attached? Not worried about the cost of electricity, just concerned about damaging the actual wall charger itself.

  • Ongoing issues as a result of the deal listed here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/354006 . Comments from multiple buyers at the end of the thread go into more detail.

I suspect this seller does not have stock of the items they are selling and will lie to stall customers raising paypal disputes. Be aware of the "processing time" not included in the "delivery time" that is not listed at any point during your order.

Would suggest reading reviews of the retailer before locking in your buy, I really wish I did.

    • +1

I respect your reason that there may be issues with the seller. However the second paragraph is merely a personal suspicion, not exactly proof.

      • +1

The second paragraph started off with "I suspect", so yes, definitely suspicion.

Regardless of whether my suspicion is correct, buyers have also been supplied with tracking numbers which do not register on the Australia post website. Australia post will automatically add a drop off/scanned status even if tracking information doesn't update as it moves from depot to depot.

I'd absolutely love to get more info from @Clear as to why this is the case so I didn't have to rely on my suspicions, but he's too busy focusing on new sales posts instead of answering the questions from mislead buyers on the other deal.

        • +4

Please don't make accusations. I haven't even posted for GeekBuying this week. As per that deal I have advised that I'm seeking clarification on the delays from management.

        • @Clear:

My suspicion is towards the person/people selling the item. If that isn't you and you are merely associated with the company without being a rep, then the comment is not directed at you.

          https://www.productreview.com.au/p/geekbuying-com.html

It's pretty clear that advertising misleading turnaround times to get sales is a common occurrence.

        • +3

@Cubist: Merely associated with the company. Unfortunately people make the assumption that I live and work for GeekBuying in China. This is not true.

        • -1

@Clear: Clear you need to be clear in the clarification that Clear is only associated with GeekBuying and not part of the company. We clear Clear?

          Just to update the current status of my order from Geekbuying on the 6th of January;

Geekbuying are now advising that the product I ordered with a 5-8 day delivery window (free express shipping), was shipped today (shortly after I raised the paypal dispute). Shipping did not take place on the 15th as originally advised, and that the parcel is going through a different postal service, that postal service is prone to not displaying a tracking status, and the tracking number is the same tracking number from the 15th, that they originally said was an Australia Post tracking number.

          Right.

        • @Cubist: Which postal service is it going through?

        • @Clear: no idea. I have been given a tracking site which I have never heard of before.

        • @Cubist: What is it? 17track.net? They usually give out a website that tracks most carriers instead of a single one.

        • Geekbuying are now advising that the product I ordered with a 5-8 day delivery window (free express shipping), was shipped today (shortly after I raised the paypal dispute). Smell that? That's the smell of Chinese seller BS.

        • @Clear: As advised on the Australia Post website, as soon as an item is scanned, it appears on the APO website. You may not see up to date tracking, but the initial scan always shows. Checking today, there is still no update of this product being scanned.

        • @Cubist:

Shipping did not take place on the 15th as originally advised, and that the parcel is going through a different postal service,

This is what I was trying to work out. Different postal service? Auspost or not?

        • @Clear: No idea. It doesn't say the postal service, just a tracking website.

          http://smartparcel.gotoubi.com/

Definitely not Australia Post though, and express shipping with Australia Post is the reason I purchased this deal. I do not have access to a working mobile phone right now.

        • @Cubist: Okay that makes much more sense now. Ubi are a courier that Australia Post use in China. Once Ubi ship it to Australia, Auspost will take over. Gearbest use the same for their AU Direct.

        • @Clear: I don't mean to be rude, but I don't find any of this information to be useful/beneficial.

When I order a phone through a website, and the only mention of delivery/handle times is express shipping with 5-8 days turnaround, I expect my phone to have arrived within 8 business days.

        • +2

@Cubist: I completely agree. I'm doing as much as I can with my very little power to try and get something done.

I tried working out the exact courier to determine if it was Auspost's tracking not updating properly (very common for Auspost) or if it actually was something else.

        • +1

          very common for Auspost

No it's not. There's no reason to deflect the negativity away from a company you are associated with to a company which people love to whinge about, either.

I've probably sent close to 200 items tracked with Australia Post over the last 24 months. I have yet to experience any issues with their tracking not updating when scanned, or an item go missing and not being scanned at all.

        • @Cubist: Literally not trying to deflect it. Auspost are notorious for not updating their tracking properly with goods from China. And that comes from my years of experience with Chinese sellers in general.

  • Geekbuying == if you are okay to wait with long delivery times. Exasperated by upcoming Chinese NY period. Good luck fellow ozbs.

  • Mine arrived yesterday and it seems to only 'slow' change my s8 - ie it says "charging wirelessly" and not "fast charging wirelessly".

I've tried it with 2 Samsung fast chargers (one that came with the s8, one from my note4) as well as a blitzwolf qc3 charger, also a few different cables.

My blitzwolf wireless charger and my wife's official Samsung one both do fast wireless charging fine.

Has anyone else found this with theirs?

    • Received my charger today, tested to charged my iPhone X and S8+ both working fine.

Regarding to the fast charge on Samsung, I used the Tronsmart usb-c cable (not the one come with charger) and Anker charger.

      https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/anker-powerport-speed-5-a2054t1…

When I placed the S8+ on charger it's showing fast wireless charging. I think it's on charger and cable that caused it don't support fast wireless charging.

      • I have no idea how or why - but it seems that it only fast charges when using the supplied cable (and not other high quality cables).

Weird - but at least I have an answer and it is wireless fast charging now. Thanks for helping me get to the bottom of it.

  • So I finally unboxed mine. Unfortunately, the cooling fan was super noisy. So I took it apart and removed the fan. Silence achieved!! :-)

Anybody knowledgeable in electronics? I assume the heat cutoff switch won't be affected? So other than getting hot while charging, will it work just the same???

    • +1

The fan was to help overheating so it may affect the speed or longevity of your charger

      • Thank you very much for answering my question. Much appreciated
