Laser Cut Case (Incl. Fan + Heatsinks) for Raspberry Pi B - $4.35 + Postage @ Core Electronics

220

Saw this Pi B case discounted from $14.50 to $4.35 while placing an order with the team at Core Electronics so added one to my order. Awesome service from these guys so happy to give them a plug.

Can't comment on the case but the reviews seem fairly good. Appears to come with 2x heat sinks and a 40mm fan.

Looks like its possibly a clearance with only 32 units remaining at time of posting so be quick. Economy postage is $4 for a few postcodes I tried in various states.

Made for Raspberry Pi B Model (including the latest version)
2x Anodised heat sinks for better heat dissipation
40mm fan which attaches to the top cover for active cooling
Mounting hardware (bolts/spacers etc)
Access to all ports
Click together design, no screws, stand-offs or elastic bands needed
Protective stickers are attached to the covers to their preserve surfaces - it's easy to peel off
Raspberry Pi Board not included

  • It's got plenty of space inside which is ideal for bundled heatsinks and 40mm fan which can keep your Pi cool all year around

This is not just the case, it's a combo of cooling components as well

The case is not that durable, so during assembly you'll have to put the case together (panels) in the right order or otherwise you end up snapping the interlocking fingers which are brittle.

  • This is cool and a great price.

But Pi's don't need cooling, its optional.

    • It may be, but I'd rather my wi-fi server unit was sitting a bit lower than 60 C on a 35.7% load…

      • OK but heat doesn't damage anything.

The heatsinks+fan are popular for overclocked Pis running RetroPie, etc. Overheat warnings are not hard to get without decent cooling. Pi 3 was a big leap forward for power management, though you only really need a heatsink on the SoC (the large chip on the top-side) if it's living a strenuous life.

  • Sweet. Love the camera, IO and display cutouts.

Similar item with cheaper delivery here but CoreElectronics certainly have better delivery times: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Protective-Acrylic-Enclosure-Cas…

  • If I jump on this bargain and get this case, I'd have to get yet another raspberry pi. win/win!

Don't see any heatsinks or fan on your link. Not the same deal at all.

Hah, I like the buried text "Note:Fan not include" in the description. Doesn't have heatsinks either. #ebaylife

Thanks for the plug - yep this is clearance stock as we're making room for new variants

Let me know if any questions, happy to help

    • What is the new ones?

  • The fan looks noisy and case has bad fragile reviews lol

    • It's a great fan. We use the same model for all of our cases.

Acrylic is brittle, so yeah, take it easy when assembling this case. Pro tip - Don't forget to remove the protective paper before assembling.

  • Any deals on the NES Case?

$25 from an Aussie supplier is pretty good..
