i had a stone one, its rubbish
I agree. I bought mine at Woolies when on sale for $39 for the large one, they are NOT non stick cooking, in fact everything sticks to it, I only used mine for less than 10 times, it deserves the bin.
Yep Im using cast iron from ALDI now. I have to say the marketing derppp did a good job to fooled me though. Non stick … right
You don't need to use oil but eggs come out rubbery i usually use a little olive oil.
Won’t work on induction FYI
Pricing error?
Note to self: don’t waste time buying and waiting for refund on postage.
Any idea if it’s dishwasher safe ?
Yes
No, They say not to use cleaning agents on them, and just wipe them down.
The dishwasher will remove the oil that you need for the nonstick.
You need to oil them like cast iron cookware
Even a $5 non-stick pan works great the first couple of times which is essentially what the infomercials show you. The true test is after several uses and several washes where a lot of pans fall apart.
I bought something similar at Coles.
They are good for the first few months until the non-stick layer diminishes.
Got less than 6 months out of a brand new pan.Very similar to Bluestone, Flavourstone. Its like a stonish teflon coating that can still come over if you use harsh cleaning
The sticking is a new high tech health feature.
It'll remove that unhealthy skin from your chicken.
Unhealthy crumbs on your fish?
Not any more with the all new Sure Stick © fry pan.
EGGS! you'll eat 10% less than with regular pans.So perfect for trawler fishermen then
Its annoying that they never say what cookware is made of.
What are these? I'm guessing vitreous enamel-coated aluminium from the photos and description.
Like cast iron or stainless steel, that will tolerate higher temp than teflon, but high-temp cooking is NOT healthy.
Or does "stone" mean some soft of ceramic? Or glazed ceramic? Who knows!?And as for eggs, why would anyone try to fry eggs on anything except teflon?
I keep a particular pan exclusively for eggs, to make sure it never gets scratched.Think people dislike the idea that Teflon is toxic
People are ignorant then.
However I just realised that enamel pan vendors proclaim them to be "PTFE-free".
Stonewell does not, so almost certainly uses PTFE.in 2018 what doesn't give you cancer…..
They used to say that Roger Rogerson was like Teflon.
Each to their own but at $29 its worth a try..
Just ordered one despite the negative comments… always wanted to see what the hype was about these fry pans! Will see how it goes… Thanks OP! 😊
nothing special really. Not great not terrible (for the price). Just like any other Aldi pan which you throw out after 6 months. Still ok value. If you want these to last longer don't stick it in the dishwasher. Best way to clean is with a paper towel when it's still hot. I rarely (hand)wash them unless there's bits stuck on it.
Lol… I actually do the same too… Never wash them unless I have to.. even then it would be only a quick hand wash…
Is this the one you don’t need to use oil for eggs?
