http://www.bcf.com.au/store/packs-travel/hydration/20406?pag…When I cant find anything I just grab dehydrated meals: (stock up for trips)
http://www.bcf.com.au/store/cooking/food-snacks/571657?pageS…How would you rate the meals? We usually just take BBQ meat, but could be good having some spare meals that don't need to kept cool.
They're nothing flash but they're light, easy, edible, and they have a long shelf life, some are tastier than others… I quite like the Beef Teriyaki and Honey Soy Chicken, I'm not a fan of the spag bog or roast lamb…
The single serve ones are too small and low on calories for an adult guy (400cal), I only buy the 2-serve ones (800 calories), I usually bulk them out with some dehydrated peas also, and spice them up a bit with black pepper and cayenne pepper… I usually add a bit of extra water, I prefer them moist rather than dry, they're not too pleasant if they're not fully rehydrated…
I just realized the search didn't include the Outdoor Gourmet ones, they seem to rehydrate a bit better than the BackCountry Cuisine ones, I like the Coq Au Vin, Mediterranean Lamb, and Company Venison Stir Fry:
http://www.bcf.com.au/store/cooking/food-snacks/571657?pageS…With the high price they're probably more suited to hiking or motorcycle trips where size and weight is a major issue… They only weigh about 200grams so it's no issue for me to carry a couple of weeks worth on the motorbike offroad… If you're just doing 4x4 trips and weight isn't and issue you're probably better of buying cheaper supermarket packet or canned foods… (These dehydrated meals have a good shelf life so having a couple for emergency food isn't a bad idea)
The normal $17 price is higher than most other shops so I only buy them with these $10 vouchers or when they have 20% off…
Yeah the price is putting me off. Might just get a few cans of steak and onions from Coles instead. Though the dehydrated meals are good to keep in mind if we do decide go on a longer hike. Thanks for the write up.
Excellent, time to stock up on carabiners again. Handy little things, but man I keep losing them.
if only there was some handy device to clip them to a loop on ones backpack or trousers.
ene loop?
If i sign up now will i get the $10 ? Sorry cheap ass oz bargainer : )
I don't think so but it doesn't hurt to sign up!
Probably not, but you'll get one next month… (they have these $10 vouchers almost every month)
you'll get the $20 new customer credit - but minimum spend is $100 I think.
Have been a member for 6 months or so and didn't receive one, guess not for everyone? (Also am opted in for marketing etc.)
I have used 3 email addresses and ticked the marketing box in all of them, but, I still get none of these offers!!!!….Plenty of spam however.
I joined just before xmas 2017. This is the first $10 voucher I have received. Also I haven't purchased anything from BCF yet. I joined specifically for the free vouchers. Same as SCA.
maybe you have to purchase stuff other times .. I don't know. I think I've received at least 2 in the last 6 months but I've spent like $200 there.
I thought that too but I recently bought $300 worth of camping stuff, so I'm not sure how it works!
I just joined last month and have my $20 voucher I have yet to use. Hopefully I can also use this as well and stack them up.
$20 just for joining?
He means $20 off for spending more than $100. I got the same
Can we stack it with this?
Negative. The $20 off offer is in store only, the $10 voucher is only for online :(
@bemybubble:
My email for the $10 voucher said in store & online.@bemybubble:
As below, voucher says both ;)@jazattack: I stand corrected.
My mate said the $20 is in-store only. Only the $10 is both.
I got a mini torch, 2 beach balls and a swim ring costing me $0.29. Hubby got an ice pack, mini torch and water pistol $0.37.
What timing! Was in store using my signing up 20$ voucher and got an email for this as well. Saved 10 bucks!!
DONT FORGET CODE: BCFING10 for $10 off purchases over $100 !!
Just bought partners maikuro Rod and fluorocarbon leader for $90.19 … $10 club voucher plus $10 discount plus cash back :)
I have a $20 off $100 from signing up. Can I stack with this for $30 off?

Shimano Zodias on 20% off is a good deal at $255 and then potential to combine with extra $30 off.
interestingly I never receive the $10 voucher even though I have signed up to be notified of offers. Anyone else have this?
Yep, have yet to receive any vouchers, besides the signup $20 off when $100 spent.
thanks for the heads up….my 1st bcf voucher! signed up in oct last year so its been awhile coming
Seems they don't send me any of these freebies, do I have to sign up for their spam email list or something?
Yes
I've got "Yes! I would like to receive all future emails including exclusive club specials, invitations to special events as well as advance notice of catalogues." ticked for my account … but dont seem to get spam-emails or any offers, oh well.
I've received about 3-4 so far, I go there to buy things once every two months.
It would be BCFing good if they had some BCFing Expert stickers.
BCF gotta be the most generous retailer I ever come across! I think I got at least 6 things free from them in the last 12 months or so..
Yeh so sometimes I go and support them buying non voucher stuff if they're well priced anyway rather than driving elsewhere for something a few dollars cheaper.
What's good to get? I was thinking regas my 9kg tank.
