  • LastPass is free for a basic account. Does DashLane have some better features?

    • Bitwarden is also free including multiple devices sync up.

      • Cheers for the recommendation. Bitwarden looks good

Keepass and Dropbox are also free and open sores.

    • Appatently does contact s, credit cards, receipts (?)

      • LastPass does Contacts, Addresses, Credit Cards. Not sure about Receipts.

  • Never heard of them, but Toms Guide gives them a big wrap

Great program, works really well. Syncs across platforms without ease. Has ability to save receipts and track your purchases if you want. My only problem is I want to buy it once and use it ongoing… I hate subscription models

    • Do you have issues with it stopping after a few days of uptime? I really like it, mainly for the UI, but I do a 'preventative reboot' daily to keep things running smoothly.

      • Never had that issue. My comp runs pretty much non stop, maybe restarting once or twice a fortnight.

        • Strange. I've got Dashlane on 3 PC's and I have the issue across all of them (the last major update does seem to improve things a bit though)

    • I despise subscription models. The only premium PW Manager I know of that offers a lifetime license is Sticky Password. You can get it discounted via sites like Stacksocial etc. I think I paid ~$30 for lifetime. I haven't used Dashlane so can't compare (from what I've read Dashlane has a superior UI) but I'm happy with Sticky. Cross-platform syncing works seamlessly. Biometric login on smart devices (optionally). It also offers an option to ONLY ever sync between devices on your own private network i.e your passwords/data never leaves your own devices. It doesn't have the feature you mentioned about saving receipts/tracking purchases. It does have 'secure memos' though.

I've been using it and it has been fantastic. I was tossing up between Bitwarden and this and haven't looked back. Their apps are nicely designed and integrate with major browsers. DL also do receipts and secure notes too. You can do a 30 day trial but be careful, once its over, syncing will stop so you can only use your mobile for the pwds.

  • Amazingly, this app forgot my master password so I couldn't use it. They said that it was a bug. Be aware that if it happens to you there's no way back. The funny thing is that it still remembered the password on their website but the website is no use for anything.
