I'm looking for a Nintendo Switch.
Pricehispter says the best deal is BigW at $449.
Can anyone confirm if there are any better deals out there?
Thanks!

I would wait a bit longer, usually the deals pop up around EOFY, cheapest has been $399 @ Kogan
It has been slightly cheaper before;
All previous deals for the Switch. Slightly better deal than the Big W one here for $445.55 with the code P5OZZIE, although I wouldn't recommend purchasing it that price. Probably better off waiting for a dedicated sale or asking the The Gamesmen rep if they can repeat this deal again.
Actually it was $369 at Big W for a short time, and Harvey Norman pricematches so with the $100 off $400 offer it was $269 (if you added $30 worth of something).
Thanks, missed the Big W deal, so yeah it's best to wait for it to go at least under $400.
The cheapest it has been was with the Harvey Norman deal in conjunction with a $100 cashback for using an Amex card when spending over $300:
It was purely through a stroke of luck that I was able to get it for that cheap but I imagine that there will be deals where the prices of the Switch should drop again to $400 since the console is selling quite well.
EOFY is like 6 mths away. Might as well wait a year.
Side question what are the best prices for the top popular games?
Want mainly online multiplayer games but will probably also collect the future timeless classics and greats.
Picked up a used Mario Odyssey at EB for $57. They tend not to have too many used copies though. $69 new. Big w have Zelda for $69, most places are a few dollars more. I can't see Zelda having a good price drop outside of ebay coupons simply because Nintendo don't discount games much and it's the must have game.
Well I can recall at least $380 as a price previously, may be lower …
$419@dwidigitalcameras.
Do they sell them as grey imports?
yes, the power adapter will be different as well.
I think I’d go for the Big W $449, less 5% (cash rewards gift cards), which brings the price to under $427.
An extra $8 for Australian stock is a no brainer for me.
Keep your eyes peeled for a sub-$380 deal if you don't mind waiting.
Is there an upcoming deal?
None that I know of but they seem to happen from time to time
Thanks all! Will wait a bit for a deal.
Just a side question, what’s the consensus on buying on Gumtree? Is it risky? Thanks.
I personally wouldn't for expensive items. Games yes, consoles, no.
If you see it working go for it. But be aware what issues there are for different consoles. Eg Playstation consoles could be banned from online. There's no such issues for the Switch presently.
Ah I see, thanks I'll be careful.
Missed the really good deals prior to Christmas,; about $367 I believe. Paid $390 I think from JB HiFi when they price matched Amazon.au (had free delivery too). Not sure if still on but you could also get a $10 voucher for buying a $100 gift card, but could not purchase the Switch on the same day, next being fine. I think prices will come down again soon.
Harvey Norman is doing switch plus Mario odyssey for $498 seems like a fair deal. Still kicking myself for not grabbing one boxing day from amazon.
Super Mario Odyssey should not be more than $69 though, so check prices; JB HiFi, BigW or even Target. I found EB Games (so called) bundle deals this year were costing more than if you bought the items separately. Usually EB Games would price match but we didn't get a positive response from them this year. I think they were trying sell the MarioKart 8 with the Switch for over $540, which was ridiculous at the time.
I think if you can be a little patient prices will drop again, maybe after Easter.
I have a screenshot of the online BigW price for $369 (taken before Christmas … I just missed that by one week!) if anyone is interested, but I don't know how to show it here. If you send a DM I will send it through there though.
Hello all - just wondering what everyone’s experiences purchasing the Nintendo Switch has been like?
I’m in the market for a Switch with Mario Odyssey, Zelda and Binding of Isaac. Best deal I can see for the console is $400 for a grey market version - are there any problems with the grey market sellers? I understand that an adapter will be required but could I just purchase a USB C power cable separately?
Am I best off waiting? The cheapest I’ve seen it for is $370 - I’m honestly happy to pay the extra $30 bucks, but I’ve heard rumours of a Tegra 2 Switch.
Any advice is welcome!

EB Games have the Switch plus Just Dance 2018 for $469. You can trade the game for $43.
Console for $426.
Amazon? Same boat here
