Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Ed - $40.95 for PS+ Members

1080

1st time poster here so feel free to provide feedback.

Have been looking for a good deal on this game since I bought a PS4 Pro from Amazon in the post Christmas Sales.

This is limited to PS+ members, price is listed at $47.95 but you get a further 10% when you add it to the basket, bringing it down to $40.95 at the checkout.

This is the cheapest I have seen the complete edition, mostly only seen the standard edition reduced.

Also, if you are not fussed about the added DLC expansion level or extra DLC items the standard game is also reduced down to $25.25, again shows this price at the checkout.

Please keep in mind this is a download from the PS Store and the file is 43GB for the standard edition and 53GB the complete edition.

The DLC is also on sale for $19.95 for those with the base game!

    :)

    • Thanks for that, had not checked because I needed the whole thing, good work.

There's just too much I want in the PSN sale for my new PS4, but I can't afford it all. I wish there was an app that tells me which games are least likely to go on sale again in the next 12 months.

Closest thing I can give you is https://psprices.com/
Price history for Playstation store. History can be a good indicator of future.

        • thanks for the link - will come in very handy

GOTY. Beats both Zelda BoTW and Witcher in my opinion

    • +7

      I just finished it.
PLayed the other 2 and I feel like The witcher comes out in front.

I hope theyre working on a sequel though

    • +3

      Witcher was 2015…

      • Which just shows how amazing it is, that people are saying that this game beats out a 2 year old game.

      • +2

I think he just meant in general terms.. Witcher 3 or Skyrim are common go-to's for comparisons with new release RPGs.

    • +5

Doesn't beat Witcher but comes close. Solid A- for HZD and A+ for Witcher.

      • -2

LOL a solid minus A. Is that a regular A?

        • No. It goes B B+ A- then A

        • -1

@GossipGoat: It's more about using the word solid. The usage of "solid A-" is humorous.

        • @crfnx: To you.

        • @FabMan:What makes it Solid? Perhaps it is the fact it is not weak enough to be a negative?

        • +1

@crfnx: Negative is weak? Its just a grading system, A- is just as relevant as 8/10 or 80% or whatever you choose.

Why they chose to say solid, I don't know, ask them, I just didn't think it was humourous, that is all.

        • +1

@FabMan: Thank you for taking the time to reply. I feel the positive and negative are adjustments when it is not a solid letter, so A- is weaker than an A. But as you said this is not humorous to all, and possibly only myself.

        • @crfnx: I get ya now

  • Cheers!

  • I purchased this whilst on sale over Christmas but am yet to start it - is it worth buying the DLC before trying the base game?

    • +1

If I were you i'd wait before buying the DLC. It will take a while to finish the game and the DLC will go on sale fairly regularly in all likelihood. At a guess.

    Am I missing something - $47.95 to $40.95 is more than 10% ?
    Great deal BTW OP

    • +2

Yeah, I thought the same but I think what they actually do is add the extra 10% discount from the original full cost of $69.95, so they then take an extra $7 off the already discounted price of $47.95.

They have done it strangely but works out better for us punters for a change.

      • +1

The PS+ additional discount is always calculated off the RRP, which is why Plus is a good idea for those who frequently take advantage of sales.

  • +1

Thanks for sharing the good news.

  • +2

Was waiting for that. Thanks OP!

  • Was waiting for a sale on the DLC, sweet thanks!

  • Really great game and the expansion is just as great !!

  • +1

Thank you Smarch :) can't wait to play!

    • +2

All good man, I just have to wait for it to finish downloading overnight, don't have a fast connection myself so was the main reason I added the file sizes so people could gauge their download time frames.

Enjoy the game, have been hanging to play it for ages myself so hope to get stuck into it by tomorrow morning, or maybe afternoon, depending on what download speeds I get.

  • Get it, love it!

  • Really wanted a physical copy of this, but this price is just too good to pass up!

    • The price is awesome, but I did find a copy of the standard game in Target the other day and scanned it at a price check point, as there was no price label, scanned up at $35.

Was considering posting it here but the game is no longer on their website so no idea of how many stores have copies anymore.

Just a thought if you wanted a physical copy, I was so close to grabbing it but very happy i didn't now, that is a good price but this is great.

  • I’ve never known cause I’ve never bought a game from the store with a ps plus discount. If you buy a game and get the ps plus discount, do you lose access to the game if you let your subscription lapse? I know that happens with the monthly free games but with paid stuff is that also the case?

    • +4

You keep the game. Ive bought a few games when i had the 2 week trail and its still in my library and playable after my plus ran out.

      • +1

Great! I’ll be grabbing the DLC while it’s on sale! Thanks.

    • Duped response, I was too slow.

    • +3

It's only the "free with ps+" monthly games that you lose access to.

  • Is it worth keeping. I feel like disc could be sold on once completed.
Mind you $25 for base game is better than the 50-60 at jbhifi.

    • I would say it’s worth keeping. I just finished the game on disc borrowed from a friend and am thinking of buying it for another play through, also for DLC. I’m no hardcore gamer but I would say it’s the best game I’ve ever played.

  • +1

Any other games worth picking up that also on sale? Plan to use a PS+ trial and bulk buy. Thanks

  • +1

Great Game, would highly recommend. Finished it today and looking forward to starting the DLC :)

  • Horizon Zero Dawn is only the best RPG I have ever played.

  • Anyone know of a playstation plus sale happening?

I forgot to sign up at the start of December when it was around $50 :(

    • +1

Just subscribe the 14 day trial and buy the game, the game will still belong to you after your subscription is expired.
REMEMBER to disable auto-renew, otherwise after 14 days you will be charged.

  • This is sooo tempting, but I really want a physical copy. Should I wait?

  • Great price. I am actually playing that game now on my new PS4.
Last week, I brought the physical version off eBay for around $55. The original price was $61 and I got 10% off with the eBay 10% off discount code that was available at that time.

Finished the base game last night and started the DLC today. The DLC is worth getting; same high quality as the original game.

  • Great price. This game is amazing - bought it for my son but ended up enjoying it more than him.
Any recommendations for similar games ???

    • Witcher 3 (although not good for young people). Skyrim is an older one that's still thought well of.
What did you like about it? That'll help recommending

      • +1

Also Breath of the Wild if you have a Switch / Wii U.
Has a similar open world / exploration / mechanical beasts type deal to it with upgradeable gear (but not so much in the way of crafting / skill trees).

    • +1

Tomb Raider Anniversary has some similarities in my opinion, is a great game and can usually be found on the cheap in a PS sale every few months.

  • I'll wait until it's free on PS Plus I think. It's only a matter of time now.

  • Does the DLC also have 10% discount for PS+ members?
