Just got this in my e-mail. It hasn't started yet but when it does start, it is a great deal IMO. I got one of these box sets and they are great and the actual series is very good too. I bought it a few weeks ago for AUD$170 and i haven't seen it cheaper anywhere else. I believe BSG movie, The Plan, is also included in this box set as it was included in mine when i bought it and this is exactly the same box set.

The deal is valid for 1 day only or until sold out, 30th November 2010 (US time of course). I have no idea what time that would be here in Oz though.

At the same time, DVD version will also be a good deal for US$80.99 + shipping.
Current deal is pretty good too and it is for Just Dance 2 Wii game on sale for US$25.99 + shipping valid for another 22 hours or until stocks last.

As this deal is not in effect yet and mods don't like that for one reason or another, then please remove it. I just thought people might be interested in something like this for a very good price for either themselves or as a Xmas present.

  • Nice price but two things I never found in your post: How much is postage to Australia and more importantly is it region free?

    • Forgot to mention that. From my experience postage is about US$5-7 or so. As for region, they are definitely region free.

      • i dunno about that…. it's unlikely they are 'region free'. In fact, US BD's are a different region to AU- whereas UK BD's are the same region.

my advice to anyone buying BD's from Amazon is to stick to UK Amazon.

        • Well i said they are definitely region free because as i mentioned in the description, i have one of these (bought from Canadian amazon, which is the same as US) and i haven't had any problems playing them on my Australian PS3.

        • +1

The majority of Blu-Rays are region free.

There are quite a few databases you can check online if you're unsure.

  • You can get this from Amazon UK for $106.91 including postage (once through checkout). Link below, don't have to worry about region as they have the same blue ray region as us.

    • True, but couple of things. The UK release doesn't include the movie and personally, i don't think that box set is as nice as the US one, but that's just my own preference. Definitely a good price though, can't dispute that.

  • wiki:

The Blu-ray Disc region coding scheme divides the world into 3 regions, labeled A, B, and C.

    • Region A includes most North, Central and South American and Southeast Asian countries plus the Republic of China (Taiwan), Hong Kong, Japan and Korea.
    • Region B includes most European, African and southwest Asian countries plus Australia and New Zealand.
    • Region C contains the remaining central and south Asian countries, as well as the People's Republic of China and Russia.

OP has stated they have purchased and is working fine on their PS3… and that's cool, but dont be thinking Region A is going to work on your standard Blu-ray player. Like I said earlier, stick with UK.

    • Oh yeah i agree with you on that one. US is definitely region A and we are region B. Nobody is disputing that, however more often than not, Blu-ray discs are region free. This site gives pretty good idea whether something is region coded or not:
      http://bluray.liesinc.net/
I use that website a lot when I'm not sure if something is region free or not and thus far that website and information on it has not failed me.

      • link saved, thanks very much :). a handy reference!

    • From wikipedia so probably true….

Movie studios have different region coding policies. Among major U.S. studios, Paramount Pictures and Universal Studios have released all of their titles region-free. Sony Pictures and Warner Bros. have released most of their titles region-free. Lionsgate and Walt Disney Pictures have released a mix of region-free and region-coded titles. 20th Century Fox and MGM have released most of their titles region-coded.

      • Yep as i suggested, most are region free, but there are many that are region coded and that is where the website i posted in my previous post comes in really handy. I agree with UFO though, if people are not sure about a movie and its region coding and that website doesn't help, then better stick to UK releases or don't get it at all and I also agree that people should not that unless a movie is region B or region free, they will NOT be able to play it on their blu-ray player unless the player itself is multi-region blu ray player.

  • Set was $119 earlier today, guess they are doing it again.
