  • Is this SanDisk microSD card fine (in terms of speed) to put into a Nintendo Switch? http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/sandisk-ultra-128gb-mi…

    • +1

According to the quoted specs it is. The Switch says it needs 60 -95 mb/s and this one is rated at 80.

Any will work and all show about the same speed, as long as its one of the higher end ones,

      • Thanks brent3000 (and Rayve). The SanDisk Ultra is class 10 which is apparently equivalent to UHS-1, as recommended in that link.

  • Thx OP..

Ordered 1x ea of the 64GB…

  • Really want that 256gb, but gotta keep waiting for my magic price.

  • Which one would be good for a Sony A6500?

  • The Sandisk 64GB OTG is actually $19.95, but USB2.0. $25 Samsung is USB3.0

  • The specs for the Samsung show the full size USB connector is 3.0 while the micro connector is only USB 2.0.

    • +1

      they're both 2.0

all these OTG drives are base 2.0 so you'll never get 3.0 write speeds from them

  • Do they ship to nz

  • Sucks how the high endurance MicroSD cards aren't on sale. Need one for my dashcam but none of these are great options.

    • Which one are the high endurance??

      • ShoppingExpress only stock the SanDisk High Endurance 64GB.

I've been told by dashcam enthusiasts to stay away from SanDisk and use MLC based SD cards. Doesn't affect your normal use though, advice is only specific to dashcams.

        • ah thanks, how do you know which card is MLC or TLS? is Samsung Evo + is it MLC or TLS

        • @boomramada:

Samsung Evo is newer TLC but still not MLC. There's a brand out there called Silicon Power that does MLC High Endurance MicroSD cards.

32gb is no longer in stock

  • What can I use a OTG Micro USB for? Please enlighten. Thanks.

    Sorry for 2 dummies questions.

I have read the description at
SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive 32GB OTG Micro USB
    http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/sandisk-ultra-dual-dri…

It says it has "2 inbuilt connectors so you can easily transfer files between your Android devices and your computer."

    Question 1:
Why is that necessary for my Android phone?

I already have an Android phone that can be connected to my computer's USB port using a USB cable.

    Question 2:

    32GB vs 64 GB.

What does that mean for my Android phone that already has a 128GB SD card?

    Plese let me know.

    Thanks a million.

You can offload data to a USB stick without the use of a computer.

For e.g I'm @ convention center and I've taken a lot of videos on my G. Pixel, memory is full but I need to keep recording the next event. I can take out my OTG drive and quickly transfer the data without needing to use a PC, and then continue recording.

Or if I just want to offload that data quickly directly from any Android device and then give the data to a friend.

OTG probably not that useful if you have a Micro SD card slot. But many high end expensive flagships nowadays do not have a card slot.

Well by definition, OTG meaning On The Go, you don't need to find a computer to plug in to.
