…and you'll end up destroying 25 years of hard work by some really passionate people.

Tough crowd… that was a joke lads.

Of course no one mixes this with coke. Pepsi is the way to go, and it's on special too.

You just ruined the joke by telling everyone that it was a joke #facepalm

I should have you thrown off ozbargain for your blasphemy!!
wasting 10 cents on pepsi… pfft!

EVERYONE knows that LA ICE is the official mixer of the ozbargain community!

shame on you ! (and @tonywind as well!!)

        • Of course he joking. Nobody in their right mind would waste perfectly good coke by mixing it!

LA ice..why oh why? Another joke. Right? Australia makes some of the best ice, I even make my own.

Moral of the story, always take your coke and ice separately, uncontaminated and in the purest form possible.

    • I still don't understand why people use cola for mixing…

      ginger ale is far nicer.

  • One day, if I win the lotto I'm going to treat myself to a bottle of something like this. I can only imagine the flavour journey my tastebuds would go on while drinking it.

Honestly, don't feel like you are missing out. A price tag and age statement shouldn't make it any more tasty to you. Keep buying different $80 bottles and enjoy that journey even more.

      • Yeah, I know that you can get a decent flavour profile from a whisky that's a quarter of the price, I just like the thought of being able to thrown down a few hundred dollars on a bottle and not have to worry about it. I still think it would be an awesome drop, though. I have sampled both an 18yo and a 25yo before, but that was early on when I was still discovering single malts - I fear the experience was lost on me at the time.

(Fun fact: I know someone who actually bought, and then proceeded to drink, a $500 bottle of Penfold's Grange. He said it was a very nice wine, but he felt he just wasn't qualified enough to fully appreciate how good it really was. I'd probably be the same with a whisky of a similar quality and price point.)

        • I opened a 97 Grange when my parents sold the family home a couple of years ago. We all drank it together on our last night there. I've had better $40 bottles but it was fun to be wine (profanity) for an hour.

    • Or you could go to a whisky bar and treat yourself to a taste now.

Regularly do this before investing $300+ on a bottle.
