wil these work with ubereats ?

    • If they are the same as the Uber cards sold in Woolies, yes they work with UberEats as well.

  • +2

The current woolies promotion (till Jan 2) is still better if paid using eGift Cards.

1000 points for $50 - which equates to $5 off. Plus 5% off due to eGift cards ($2.50) - so effectively 15% of Uber cards.

Once that promotion is done, then this 10% deal is good to have.

    • Agree.
Have u tried to buy a 2nd one from Woolies?
Does the 2nd uber card get you the points still??

      • +2

Yes. I bought 15 cards and each of them got me the bonus points.

        • 15 cards

          Holy shit this is professional.

          @MathNerd:

Haha - I spend nearly $250 on Uber a week; so for me; this will be used up very quickly.
I might also start using UberEats over Deliveroo and Foodora with this deal.

        • @MrHyde: $250/week? That's some kind of record! So you don't drive I take it?

          @MathNerd:

I travel a lot for work interstate and prefer to use Uber instead of Taxis. My taxi bill used be easily around $320 - $350 a week; so that has dropped quite a bit.

Hence, I also love the Hotel promotions by Amex as I can easily book one of the promoted hotels for an upcoming trip. :)

        • @MrHyde: Good stuff mate, love hearing these stories.

    • @MrHyde:

Is this how it would work?

      Promotion 1: 1000 points for $50 from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/351658
Promotion 2: 5% off eGift cards from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/347912

      Example:
      Starting with $500.
After promo 2: $525 in Gift cards (for $500)
After promo 1: $550 in uber Gift cards (for the $525)
From points of promo 1: $50 uber gift card (from the $50 you get from 10,000 points? 1000 points = $5)

      • +1

I think that is correct. I work it backwards.

        Promo 2: $500 giftcard for $475 (Saved $25)
Promo 1: $500 Uber cards get you $50 in future savings.

Total savings - $75 - so actual cost of $500 uber cards is $425; which is a saving of 15%.

Shouldn't thus deal be getting more love? 10% off Uber sounds great.

    • yes except 10% off on inflated pricing defeats it…..using on eats better

      • Inflated pricing of uber?

        • +1

surge pricing…..when im likely to use taxi like services

        • +1

@dailynotsomail: Ah yes in that scenario. Why don't you get a taxi when surge is in play and use this with 10% off when not surge?

        • @footyboy:

seldom use taxi like services and all too hard to manage and compare for a simple 'get me to point A' transaction….uber eats the deal is better anytime use

  • +2

Does anyone else think that when their phone battery is low, surge pricing seems to always come in effect? I've had it happen a few times and waited and waited till ridiculous hours when no one is still out yet big surge prices are still coming up.

    Maybe it's just coincidence.

    • No, but that's a hilarious coincidence

  • Does anyone know if I can use the uber gift card for the trips in other countries? Thanks.

  • Do you have to use the amount all in one go?

    • +1

No. Any balance remains in your credit list. I just used $50.21 for a fare and I can still see a balance remaining.

  • I thought I would mention that When I went to 7-Eleven, they said I could only use this promotion for one Uber gift card, not multiple Uber gift cards in the same purchase. The bar code for the promotion also disappeared after being used for one gift card.

    • Yep, this happened to me to. Kinda limits how good the deal is, you can only really get $75 per person… or per mobile.

  • once you put the gift card code in the uber app does the uber credit expire?
