I’ve just been to Blockbuster at Wynnum and they are closing their doors 8pm Sunday.
Everything is $2.50.
They have a selection of movies, tv shows and games.
Quite a fair bit left in stock.
Well worth the trip from anywhere in Brisbane if you want to get your dose of nostalgia.
All Movies, TV Series and Games $2.50 at Blockbuster Wynnum QLD

Hoyts movie rental kiosks still exist though
Yeah but that's not like the B&M video rental store like this is. Those are becoming few and far between. It's all being replaced by those automated video rental kiosk machines. And even those kiosk machines have got a limited number of movies on them.
Peoples are watching on Netflix now instead of rental from video rental stores. So you're finding more and more of these B&M video rental stores closing down due to a lack of sales. Blockbuster Wynnum is the latest to go.
What latest release movies can you watch on Netflix?
@wxyz234: Yea Netflix is limited. But you can rent release movies online from Google play and heaps other places too
@nagel: majority of Australians do not have Netflix.
yeah but 7.6 million and growing…….. http://www.roymorgan.com/findings/7343-netflix-subscriptions…
I was a bit surprised at the family xmas gather to hear that all my extended family all use netflix….. They struggle with using a touch screen phone but love Netflix.
NBN + Netflix + Chromecast + Television = good days.
This is no different to horse and buggy shops closing with the invention of cars.
Times change. Technology improves.
I'm surprised any video rental stores are still open at all
+1
I have seen one in years
Yes this is probably due to the likes of the increase of popularity of Netflix/Stan etc, as the offers are so compelling these days.
However, spare a thought for the people who work here and the owners who may have invested their life savings. A hard thing to do to close your doors just after Christmas.
That's true, but hopefully no one has invested their life saving in a video shop within the last five to ten years….. That would be up there with one of the worst business decisions in history.

Still amazed people have money for this. The lowest-value entertainment product on offer.what would you consider good value entertainment?
being a conspiracy theorist and nutter would be my guess.
Did I guess right? No need for theories with so many facts. Ah the apathy. And classy insults. https://imgur.com/a/mJoYN
Practically anything available today for a fraction of the price (per hour of entertainment).
Just returned from there not long ago.
Very scarce selection of games (PS3, X360 and Wii only).
Plenty of TV series and movies.
Worth it for the bonus features, you don't get those on the streaming services.
I left the store at about 5:30 this afternoon with 15 movies and 5 PS3 games. There's still heaps of stock. It'll definitely still be worth a visit tomorrow. Thanks OP for posting this.
As spellbound reported, there are not many games left. I took photos of what was there if anyone's interested.

https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/152681/55230/img_20171…There was one blu ray copy of Game of Thrones season four in the TV shows section. Back right of the store.
Is there any XBox one or PS4 and many blu-rays ?? im over at Carina and dont know if its worth the drive.
Never mind went there and got a whole heap of blurays thanks OP. Even scored some microwave popcorn for free :)
Another video rental store gone due to the likes of Netflix.
