"Join Telstra and get unlimited broadband plus a $100 credit on all 24 month internet plans, when you buy online before 28 Dec."
It reads as if you get unlimited data on all plans but fairly sure it's only certain plans.

agreed. NBN is a joke.
actually it's the opposite, with the way NBN is going, it's very easy to argue your way out of the contract if thing goes sour. Telstra is known to be very good at stuffing things up.
I am actually stuck in my business plan where they are overcharging me (as in, over the inflated price they are supposed to charge).
Also my install took 4 weeks longer than ETA, I had no internet (hotspot through personal mobile phone) and only diverted phone calls in this time. My internet also frequently drops out, mainly in the early morning.
I have yet to receive any reimbursement for even the 4 weeks that I had no service. Do you have any specific tips for getting out of said contract? I would love to save almost $100 a month by going with Optus.
TIO
Business Plans will have a required up time and you can get money back for any outages outside of that up time
reason ? because nbn will get cheaper ? or what ?
I just think there is too much uncertainty in the sector as well as upcoming changes to how NBN charge ISP/RSPs.
Anything the government can make money on will never get cheaper
I have been on NBN for nearly 5 years with Telstra 100/40 and have no complaints with NBN service or speeds - thankfully have not had do deal with telstra too much cause they give me a headache each time I do
So you're one of the lucky few to actually get FTTP NBN?
And not with Telstra whose job it is to create stress when they f*** stuff up or put you up a plan without your knowledge
Well given that our NBN is due by Mid 2019, however I see that has been updated with a message "Network upgrades to improve your customer experience will add an average of 6-9 months to your HFC connection." so this adds more time!
As expected, 2020 for NBN. I have just signed (last month) a 24 month contract with Telstra because ADSL cannot cope with our usage but fortunately their is cable here but only one supplier.
Never thought I would sign anything with Telstra but i'm backed into a corner.
Is there a way to avoid the contract if it's a new connection? I move on Jan 10 to an area with Telstra cable. My current ADSL is garbage, I'll do anything to get away from it.
I got this last month by calling them up and asked for it.
I've been told by Telstra Rep recently that everyone will get unlimited Broadband soon or later . I've started with 200GB to 500GB and now on 1000GB . He said by Feb 2018 should be unlimited.
What’s after unlimited?
So if my plan goes to unlimited how long Can I just stay on adsl2+ for.. because I’m worried how shit the nbn will be and I’m pretty happy with my current speeds?
Unlimited = congestion.
but it's telstra
which means "congestion + expensive"
Cheers OP :)
Anyone had any luck getting free speed boost?
Has anyone been able to get a casual cable plan (month to month) with $0 connection and $0 casua l fee. Im not going to $240 to test whether the Telstra cable network is worth moving to.
Try a "casual" provider such as Aussie Broadband or Skymesh. The cable sign ups are disabled well into next year though.
I meant non-nbn cable. I'm keen to get the cable installed into the premises.
Cheapest plan is $70 per month (min cost $1,779), meaning your savings are a measly 5.6% off. You'd have to offer me at least 6 months free on a 24 month plan (that's a minimum of $420 for Telstra) to make me even consider a contract that long.
Typical Telstra. Start charging a $99 connection fee in the fine print but offer a $100 welcome credit for new customers. Sounds better than a $1 welcome credit with what was the usual free connection on all 24 mth plans
My thoughts for 2018 is no one should be committing to contacts when signing up to an internet plan, especially not for 24 months.
