  • Are they v1 or v2 ?

    Only v1 supports ddwrt

  • Good price but lacks the Gigabit LAN of the WZR-HP-G300NH.

  • tempting price but no local pick up in NSW. and no way to figure out if they are v1 or v2.

We are checking if they are V1 or V2 with the manufacturer at the moment

I will come back to you ASAP

  • Not a bad price especially with the usb adapter included

  • +3

I have been informed that they are version 2 by the manufacturer

    • Thank you very much for confirming. cant do ddwrt then, other wise its a nice buy.

      • what is ddwrt ?? thanks

        • DD-WRT is a Linux based alternative OpenSource firmware suitable for a great variety of WLAN routers and embedded systems. The main emphasis lies on providing the easiest possible handling while at the same time supporting a great number of functionalities within the framework of the respective hardware platform used.

Actually they're V1's. I picked one up last week from North Ryde. The V2 model number is WHR-G300NV2 the V1's are WHR-300N.

The outer box AND the actual unit model number is a WHR-G300N/U, ie no V2 suffix.

So if really want a V1 maybe go in store and check the actual stock. Maybe HT has a mix of V1 and V2 stock? Dunno but I definitely got the V1 model.

      • Thanks for clarification Blinky

      • yep. Same here. Got one from HT at Fortitude Valley and flashed it with DD-WRT for the V1 version. Works ok. though I doubt whether this router is really a wireless N router. The default firmware has only wireless G mentioned throughout the whole admin menu and after I flashed it with DD-WRT, the rate which it connects to my other router is coincidentally only 54Mb/s.
