Verao Champion 10ft Trampoline - 50.125% off (was $399) - $199 at Rebel Sport (Click and Collect)

160

Bought one on Saturday at $319.20. I still had $160 of vouchers to use from the Up & Go promo (that cost me about $70 of Up & Gos). Amex have already refunded me the $15 for spending $60 (which expired Sunday). Overall cost: about $215. They were kind enough to refund me the $120.20 yesterday. Due to the massive price drop. $95 for a trampoline plus $70 of half price Up & Gos = I'm happy, kids happy.

Chose this as it has a 5 year warranty, plus 18 months on the pads and netting. Plus I had the Up & Go Vouchers… No ebay deal came close.

      • Contemplating one, Good tramp?

        • +3

Kids think so. Not sure there's much difference between sprung trampolines. But it looks better than the other $200 ones, and has a better warranty than most (without spending a fortune). Plus, didn't want to spend a couple of hours dismantling one to get a second hander…

And the biggest selling point was using the Up & Go vouchers. Hard to find things at Rebel that are good value so I was worried I'd end up using the vouchers on something I didn't really want. We had promised the kids a trampoline so this worked well.

        • @Trosticles:
If you don't mind me asking, what ages are your kids and is there plenty of room for them to play together?

        • @Trosticles:
Thanks. Just measured the area, only an 8ft will fit. Will keep an eye out

        • @KupoHo: 5 and 7. Plenty of room. Of course, we abide by the rules - one person at a time. But we had a pre-Xmas party on Sunday and I can say that about 6 of them (would have) had room to jump…

        • @Trosticles:
Thanks for confirming. Was super excited about this one but just confirmed we can only fit a 6ft one as doing up our backyard and there's not enough width to fit a bigger one :(

          Not sure there's any point getting a 6ft one..🤔

        • @Trosticles:
Hey, do you mind sharing how long it took you to assemble it?

          @PawelPabich:

With 2 people - around an hour. Though having done it, I think we could do it in 30-45 minutes the second time.

It also comes with an Airtasker advert (and $25 voucher)…

Joining the last gap in the frame:
There are 6 curved tubes that form the frame of the mat, but the end of each curved section is straight. This makes it a bit difficult to join the 2 ends of the (almost) circle together. The easiest way was to push the whole circle against a wall to slightly flatten it. This is much easier with 2 people - one pushing on each side of the slight gap in the circle until either side of the gap lines up.

          Attaching the springs:
It comes with a "spring puller" (a welded "T" with a hook on the long piece) and also one spare spring. Use these to stretch the springs and lock them into their slots.

  • Just click and collected o e of these for $319 yesterday. Think I'll have to return and re purchase

    • Their returns policy is not great - no refunds for change of mind. But the manager I spoke to did the refund no questions asked…

  • Did u just go to store and tell about price drop or physically return item. Wondering if I should repurchase now and on collection use yesterday's receipt for refund

    • I just turned up with my receipt, noted there had been a $120 price drop and that was it. Otherwise I was going to try to buy a new one and return it with the old receipt but, as I say, there's nothing in their returns policy that says they will do it. Didn't want to end up with 2 trampolines!

  • If you're in QLD, you may struggle to find the "champion" model in your nearest stores as it's an "original" rebel model only. If you're nearest store is a rebranded amart sports, they'll have this one for the same price:

    http://www.rebelsport.com.au/Product/Verao-10ft-Trampoline/5…

    • Yeah - but that's not really any better than the Kmart and Target ones…

Drive a bit further to a Rebel Sport that isn't a rebranded Amart - Indooroopilly, Chermside, Carindale, Mt Gravatt, North Lakes, Pacific Fair Gold Coast, Maroochydore. Should be one within 30-45 minutes if you're in SE QLD.

  • Refund done at different store no issues

  • No ladder included?

    • Nope. We have a 3-step ladder so doesn't worry us… And the kids are happy to climb up and down otherwise.

  • Thanks. Was looking to replace ours. The warranty is the selling point, also like that the nets are on the outside of the pads, less chance for the kids to run into it (main reason for holes in the net).

    • +1

Exactly the 2 main reasons we chose this one (even at $320) as well as the $160 in vouchers…

      1. Padding/netting setup is MUCH better than the 10ft trampolines with netting inside. It adds about 1 foot of jumping area around the outside that is otherwise unuseable. It works out about a third more jumping area than the cheap 10ft trampolines, I think, or possibly more, as the area is proportional to the radius squared: 8ft trampoline area = 16 x pi, 10ft area = 25 x pi; 10ft:8ft = 25:16 = 1.5625 = 56.25% more area.

      2. Warranty - $200 with a 5 year warranty is pretty risk free. Good quality trampoline and easy returns if any issues (whether faulty or just worn out in 4.5 years).

      For that money, other options:
ebay sellers - similar trampoline, 1-2 year warranty, difficult returns (posting a trampoline is something I'd never get 'round to doing)
Kmart/Target/BigW - lower quality trampolines (and effectively smaller) with 1-2 year warranty, easy returns
second hand - similar quality, no warranty, lots of hassle

  • got discounted vouchers for whomever wants to buy this
for sale in the classified section

  • More expensive $239.40 in boxing day sales :(
