  • Au stock?

    • Not sure, it doesn't state anything on their website that I could find.

    • Warranty: 1 Year Manufacturer's return to base

If it was Australian stock it would say it's 2 years.

      • It's hard to judge with computer stores - they usually just print out 1 year warranty as an automatic fill.

    • I know they have a store in Sydney. Used to shop from them ages ago.

These must be selling like trash. That's what you get for making a $1000+ phone in 2017 that looks like it's from 2014, Google.

    • each their own, I prefer larger bezels than a cut out of the screen (IPX) or curved edges (S8). Plus it makes the device cheaper than their XL model which has a more modern look so I'm all for bezels.

      • Overly large bezels don't set a product's RRP.

    • Sad, Note 8 / Huawei mate 10 pro is the way to go. Or perhaps Xiaomi Mi 5X with google OS

  • Waiting for the price to go below $800 before I pull the trigger… The free Google Home Mini is not enough of a sweetener for me in true OzBargain style.

    • Gumtree from Telstra deal should be around that.

  • +1

The phone is nicer in person than in photos, but it's true the design (and price) drove me to look elsewhere and I ended up getting the Essential phone even though I would love the camera on the Pixel 2. Ofcourse this was just before the $59/month telstra deal came along. That deal is still pretty sweet.

  • You can have this cheaper at JB by using 15% off gift card. Also, AU stock for sure.

    • -1

get gift cards, get $100 giftcard voucher as well. ~750 total.

    • How to get the 15% off gift card?

      • Sold out now. Sorry

  • Price matched at JB. Didnt buy but tried for a friend.

    • And they accepted?

      • +2

Yep. They put a side the item at store and my friend just went and pick it up. Paid with gift cards too. So i guess he saved a further 15% off using the gift cards.

        • Wow, thats godlike. Will try my local JB on the way home later.

  • Anyone used the phone? My wife bought two for our daughters but i wondered if they go well? Any feedback from someone that has been using one would be great:)

    • +1

I got mine today, and the screen has some blue-shift, but the camera is fantastic (there's probably more to it but idk lol)

    • +3

I've been using the Pixel 2 XL for about a month now and it's been awesome. I think most flagship phones nowadays have pretty similar performance, they all have good batteries and are super fast but the thing that stands out for me with the Pixel 2 is the camera. Haven't experienced any of the bad press it received at launch. Only negative is the price I suppose, it is quite pricey but I'm loving it so far.

Thank you both, i assumed google would try and come in with a bang. The camera was why my wife got the phone as one of my daughters wanted a camera and a phone. Thank you both, you are both why i love OzBargains, information, recommendations and massive bargains at times:) I would have gave you both more votes if i could:)

depends what your daughters already have and their friends mainly use.

Most of my sons friends have apple (parent hand me downs), I bought him Android … they use face time and not WhatsApp or Skype, so he tethers his ipod touch when out and about and has his ipad when at home via wireless.

      • Same my 4 kids have had our apple and samsung hand me downs, with my wifes maths we got the googles cheap on our plan as we have 7 phones in the house. You are so right as girls will be going from Apple to Google, let the fun begin:)

  • Been selling mine for 800 on gumtree with no luck

    • I can only assume its because with most phone people buy them with plans etc and to early and the phone not tested by the public for long enough??

      • Yeah, i wouldnt buy one outright either, but there are still pp paying 1k for it from shop. Anyway will give it a week if not sold ill use it

Cue the lowball offers by private message.

    • Is it new?

      I'll give you $750

    • +1

They are flying for roughly 750 on eBay.

      • Ok in OzB style I'll expect a further 10% discount.

        $680 it is

  • Feel sorry for people who paid above 900 for them…
Just a demonstration of market demand and price economics at work. Real price will show in the end after the cloud has cleared.

    • +2

They are going to clear my cloud account? when will this happen!hahahahaha

Camera … in 2015 my Moto X style came with 21 megapixels and great software

    • +5

It's not all about mega pixels.

      • -1

also had great software and a large lens … miss that phone ….

  • +1

Anyone reckon these will be $600-700 within a few months, I think I'd bite at that price..

  • +1

The market is flooded with these phones due to the Telstra F&F deal ($59 / month). I got two of these and sold them for $700 each privately (Gumtree and Facebook market). Couldn't get any higher. Mobile Monster would do $620, so still a bit of a win.

I wouldn't be surprised if '2real4u' is correct in saying these phones will drop in price.

    • +1

I sold one for $850 yesterday. Hard to know, but the Pixel 1 (32GB) stayed above $900 for the first 6 months.

      • Wow, that's great - I initially listed it for $800 but had no bites until I dropped it.
