Hoyts: 2-for-1 Tickets Every Thursday After 5pm for AHM Members eg. LUX $33.60

710

Update: url changed - AHM Members Only: 2-for-1 tickets every Thursday after 5pm

Found 2 for 1 offer on Hoyts Lux cinemas. The condition was to be an AHM Member but it never asks you for a membership number.
I found this was only avaliable on the new Hoyts website: https://preview.hoyts.com.au/

  1. Select a cinema
  2. Select a movie
  3. Select a Lux session
  4. Select AHM 2-4-1 Pkg LUX Seat On

This worked for me at Melbourne Central Hoyts for Star Wars on Saturday 1:40pm. Couldn't get it working for Eastland

  • Confused, how do you actually access this?

  • Hows this work?

  • How do we get the deal?
Edit: I see the above comments.

  • How do you get 2 for 1? Can't see it offered anywhere in your link.

    • Updated description for instructions. This worked for me for the latest star wars movie

  • not working dude. were you signed in perhaps or clicked a specific link from an email you received?

    • Works for me

    • Wasn't signed in. Went to the normal Hoyts website and it directed me to the new preview website that i linked in the description

  • The AHM website says the 2-for-1 tickets are only valid on Thursdays after 5pm. When and what time did you book for?

    • I just discovered this also and I got the 2 for 1 option for tomorrow evening. However the price seems to vary depending on the cinema.

    • Booked mine for Saturday at 1:40pm

      • Worked on a Tuesday said $27 but then went to $25.50 after check out.

  • Plus $3 booking fees

  • Seems to be quite random. Maybe there's a fixed number of 2-for-1 tickets for each session and once sold out for that session, the option disappears.

  • Worked for me - Chatswood Westfield for a session on a Tuesday - total was $25.50

  • This sounded awesome but just checked movies and they are all blah. Dangit! Thanks for sharing though!!

Edit: Bugger it, can't help myself!

  • Showing as $54 (2 x $24 plus $6 booking fee) for this Saturday at Chatswood Westfield.

You just need to buy one ticket for a set of 2 seats, it will show this in the seat selection

  • I know buying it works, but wont they ask for your AHM card when you go in?

    • you can collect the tickets from a kiosk by scanning the barcode on the email….so you will never have to encounter anyone to ask for the card

  • Was going to try for Eastland Tix, but sounds like no go

  • Worked for me, thanks man!

  • How is everyone getting it to work?

  • Can anyone find this on the mobile site?

  • Option suddenly disappeared again!

  • Not working for me… anyone have any luck?

  • +1

    Not working for me either.

I'm trying to book chatswood, as people have said they have been successful but I don't see any option of "AHM tickets" on any of the sessions at all on any day! very sad :(

  • Damn, I just paid a little under $60 for two optus perks LUX tickets (with 5% off $50 egiftcard)

  • Pretty expensive compared to the Telstra / Optus customer deal. $12.50 a ticket all year round excluding Saturday

    • +3

LUX is the more expensive seats…

      • +1

ye righto, so these are the Gold Class equivalent?

        • -4

Reclining yes. But it doesn't get food service like gold class

        • +4

@krisspy: you do get food service, plus a free drink and small popcorn

        • @krisspy:

when i have been to LUX i have the option for food service and it usually comes with a free drink (soft drink, water) and popcorn….unless it has changed?

        • @mangostickyrice:
Weird. When I used to abuse the $10 lux at wetheril Park, it never had the ordering service there. It was basically extreme screen with recliners. It wasn't feasible for waiters to walk in mid movie since the cinema didn't have walkways in between seats… It would just disrupt that whole row

        • @krisspy: Hoyts are moving towards having recliners in every cinema (not just LUX). Bankstown has this, for example.

        • @mangostickyrice: I was involved in the creation of LUX - because each Hoyts location is different, not all were physically capable of hosting a kitchen, which is why there may potentially be "LUX" theatres with a different experience. It is intended as the answer to Event Gold Class. Event Gold class actually has very tasty food…

        • +2

@droptester: Actually it's unlimited free soft drinks and popcorn. so much better than events gold class imo!

        • @DaiShan: oh is it actually unlimited? They didn't say anything about that when I went a few weeks ago.

The menu has prices for softdrink though, are you sure?

        • @droptester: Perhaps I'm recalling incorrectly. Went to lux @ fox studious. it's definitely unlimited popcorn (you just have to keep going out and getting it) and I'm pretty sure it was unlimited soft drink. Just ask next time you're there and hopefully I'm right!

        • @DaiShan: will do the next time I get a chance. Fingers crossed it is!

        • @DaiShan:

Wasn’t unlimited when I went :( Melbourne central and Vic Gardens

Only Star Wars at Carousel…. They'd have to pay me to watch that crap.

    • +6

These are not the movies you seek.

  • So I order for 1 lux ticket going through this http://www.hoyts.com.au/offers_and_events/offers/ahm.aspx

Where is this "step 4: Select AHM 2-4-1 Pkg LUX Seat On" that OP has instructed?

    There is no such option.

    • +2

Even i cant find that option

  • Won't let me even see the doctor who special on boxing day as an option on the new site.. The old site is waaay easier.

  • didnt work for me either - tried Melb Central (multiple dates and times)

  • The only option I see is HOYTS LUX ticket for $42 - there's no other option.

  • +1

If anyone is interested, pm me and I'll share my ahm number with a few people in NSW. I'm slow to reply, so please bear with me.

    • Unable to pm you

  • -1

Can anyone share their member number so i Can try? please pm me

    https://ahm.com.au/hoyts

  • If only I weren't #foreveralone, this deal would have made my Christmas.

  • Ok so this is what I did:

    1. Entered my AHM number
    2. Redirected to the page select a movie etc.
    3. Selected a cinema, then a movie
    4. the only times that come up for that movie and cinema are after midnight on Thursday
    5. tried 2 other cinemas, but one doesn't have Lux and the other is next Thursday 28th

Not sure how anyone got a deal for any other day but Thursday, maybe there was a bug on the site but if so it's gone now. If anyone has an idea let me know. Also not sure what the OP is on about by linking the https://preview.hoyts.com.au/ because that site doesn't support this deal from what I can see, you need to click on the 'updated' link. If someone could clarify that would be great.

    • The preview site is the new Hoyts site they release. Must've been a bug that allowed regular people access to the AHM offer. I believe it's been fixed now or all sold out

      • But more than that, the bug allowed any session which was never part of the deal. This is probably key information that should be in the OP

  • Is LUX ticket the only available option?

  • I’m an AHM member and this doesn’t work for me at all anymore.

  • when you're redirected to the hoyts website and look for a session, it seems like all cinemas dont have any available session times.
