IO Interactive has a lovely holiday gift for you from today, with Hitman's opening Paris episode available for free for a limited time. Available as the 'Hitman Holiday Pack' until January 2018, you'll be able to get the game's free Prologue and additionally grab the entire Paris level for free too.

It's perfect timing not just because the holidays are on the way, but also because you'll also be able to enjoy the Paris episode's free festive 'Holiday Hoarders' mission, in which you must try and find Santa as he drops gifts throughout the halls of Palais de Walewska. Agent 47 will also have thieves Harry and Marv AKA the Wet Bandits from Home Alone to contend with too.

You'll be able to download the Hitman Paris episode for free from today until 5th January 2018. Once you've downloaded it for free, it's also yours to keep and you'll retain all of the progress you make in the level. "IOI is giving this gift to all players, so please do your bit this holiday season," the Hitman dev states. "Whatever you can do, from giving money to a charity or offering your time to someone who needs it."

  I don't know too much about the game. Do I need the 'full' release to actually play the segment, or is it standalone? I assume it's playable but want to make sure before bogging down my internet for the night.

    you dont need anything else to play this. This includes the Prologue and one episode for free.

  If you don't own the game, it will make you download the "Data Start Application" "All Data" which hits you at "22.271 GB" plus the "9.25 GB" as well. So be wary of that and enjoy the content.

  Definitely worth checking out if you don't own Hitman. You can get a lot of mileage out of the Paris location - lots of alternate missions that make use of the huge map, including some escalating challenges that are good for some goofy fun.
