The ever popular Samsung 128GB, 100MB/s read, 90MB/s write (U3) MicroSD EVO Select Memory Card with Adapter. US$36.99+~US$5 shipping for a total of US$42.1 or AU$55.98 with our not so great currency conversion rate right now. Still seems like a good deal.

Cheapest on eBay for the Evo Plus (same card - 'select' is the amazon branding) right now seems to be about AU$65.95 delivered ($62.95 using P5Ozzie code).

According to Camel cubed it's been this price since release… what is the bargain exactly?

    • Was $44.99 (before delivery) for the last 2 weeks until the weekend just gone, went out of stock, and is now back in stock cheaper.

Unfortunately I do not have the Camelx3 to prove this, only my browsing history where I missed out on getting it at this price several weeks ago.

      • $45 is the normal price. Got one of these back in may for the same price. Had no issues with it.

    Thanks,
Gradually upgrading devices with 32 gb cards.

You should be upgrading your devices with these cheap 128GB cards instead. ;)

  • Really trying so hard to wait until the 256 becomes double this price. The SanDisk 200GB had that great price last month but still held off.

    • What's the lowesr for a 256gb so far?

      • No idea, I guess check camel x 3. Mine's for a switch too and still got a bit of internal room. I think bayonetta 1 will be the one I need it for.

        • Genuine question, Does switch work fine on slow card? (how fast does it need to be fine?)

Great card for those looking to do 4K video recording & transfer speeds are pretty good too.

    • sounds like this is a good one for my mi 4k drone.

      • 128gb for drone? how many batteries you got? Did 2 batteries on Sat and recording @2k 50fps for the entire time still only used 10gb
Ps the mixza u3 32 are good speed as well in Mi drone

Hoping the 256gb select becomes more proportionately priced to 128gb as holding out for that. Assuming that'd be alot bettrr for a switch.

  • Is the EVO select better then EVO plus?

    • +4

The OP mentions in the post that the EVO Select is simply Amazon's branding for EVO Plus. Maybe it's a condition by Samsung to keep other retailers happy because they won't have to price match Amazon.

      • It may be the same as the old "+" model, but not as fast as the newer labelled "plus".

    • +1

From my research the plus is classed U1 and the evo select is U3. U1 has minimum 10mb transfer, U3 is 30mb

  • I ordered this card a few weeks back using the $5 off from the amazon assistant add on for $38 USD total and it does what it says (90 read, 85 write). Not as cheap as this though: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/347154

Great for the $5 discount on Amazon, but to much risk for me for a fake from anywhere Chinese for an sd card.

      • I've bought shitloads of memory cards from amazon over the years and have never received a fake card.

        • +1

Huh?, what are you talking about? Of course you haven't received fakes from Amazon (if you are buying a sold and shipped by Amazon product and not a third party seller).

The other deal he linked to was cheaper product from lightinthebox, a Chinese seller.

        • @kulprit: Your post was a little confusing as you combined the two scenarios into one sentence with "but", which usually means the second half of your sentence is about the first half.

  • im 100% sure it was 33.95 usd before shipping on cyber monday!

  • I thought the select was faster than the plus, for write speeds anyway. I only got around 25MB/sec on my plus and 80MB/sec on my select

  • I've had one of these in my S8+ for the past few months, never had an issue with it.

    • same. just wish the 256gb was proportionately affordable at the time so i was more futureproof, but so far i am not close to filling up the 128 gb so can't complain.

  • It's actually $41.10USD delivered to your nearest pick up location, eg. local newsagency.

  • Will this work in a Nintendo switch? Thanks
