[WA, Melville] Eiger USB Rechargeable Lantern $10 - Bunnings (Nation-Wide?)

50

Walked in to bunnings Melville (WA) today and spotted this. I paid full price for this last year and it's a great little lantern still cranking, great for travel. Didn't buy one but hoping someone can love one as much as I do for the lesser price.

  • Darth - how many hours do you get from a recharge?

    • Fully Charging time is 5 hours at 1A 5V and LED is 3W hopefully around 6-8 hours.

      • It may start at 1A, but drop off. Losses in the DC converter both ways. I'd say 4-5 hrs. if you are lucky.

        Guess 2x18650 inside.

        Good gift for $10!

  • Full charge, quite a while although I don't know the precise time, I shouldve taken a photo from the bottom of the box which clearly shows hrs, lumens.
Incidentally, doubles as a power bank, albeit a small one, has USB out.

    • 220 lumens it says at the top

  • Haha

  • got one for $5 its not very good.

    • I've been camping, travelling, using it as emergency lighting for blackouts. I can testify it's durability. Where did you get it for $5? Prove it or doesn't exist. Otherwise sounds like troll

Was clearance item at burnings Mentone a while ago. Just my opinion, don't know why I'd bother trolling this.

      • Love the username.

Have one also and it is good. Got ours about a year ago for $10.
DT wont expand on the defects he has found.. he may have forgotten to charge it?

ive found eiger products to be pretty decent…id grab one or two at this price. looks like an ideal camp light @ 200 lumens

Might grab some ……can always put a better battey in it if time per charge is an issue.

  • I will use this when I go cycling…

  • Got one today, my local Bunnings was not happy to do the price match. The first girl said she didn't have the authorisation to do it. The second one insisted the first one had access. Then asked me where this deal was active. I said a friend took this pic yesterday and mentioned a nearby suburb. I half expected her to ring them, but she decided not to. Then went on to look up the item. She insisted they were on special and said they didn't pricematch clearance products. Then said the nearby store might have been a rural store (it wasn't). Finally wanted to see the pic on my phone again and deduced that this offer had expired on the 30th of nov (date on he top right of yellow page). I was close to losing it by now but somehow kept my cool. I guess she wanted me gone as well when she said she'd make a special exemption in this case.

I'm not sure if bunnings price matching bunnings was supposed to be so hard. Phew I'm glad it is over.

The product itself is quite nice and versatile. Definitely recommended for $10.

    • So it's obviously not a nationwide clearance price. They have no obligation to match another store's own clearance price. Had the same problem with the $20 bagless vac in vic. Couldn't price match it anywhere here in sydney unfortunately.

      • Then this "deal" must be updated to say WA only.

      • I bought one from minchinbury for $10.. It was $15. I show the image and they price match. No questions asked. I think all depends on the staff

Yeah and the price margin. The vacuum they wouldn't even consider as it was more than half their regular price :(
