Yep sounds like the person on the phone is just trying to lie to you about the policy.. If they block a sony price match then it's like blocking any price match.. Can't see any reason why they'd deny it. Otherwise move your business elsewhere, like EB Games or Target.
The people at the actual store were amenable however I got redirected to their "games" department where the guy told me they don't price match limited stock orders. Which is stupid because technically all things are limited stock orders and I already have an order with Sony.
I'll borrow a coworkers car and just drive to the nearest JB in person. Catching them on the spot will probably work better.

JB: "We can price match but all our tock is on back order till after Xmas"
Sony Kiosk: "We can price match but we're out of stock everywhere, main warehouse also out of stock, so basically same as online".
So if you want to order in person and can wait for the back order to come through, try a Sony kiosk or a different JB Hifi.

Did you get the Xbone S with three games or two games? I got mine with COD:WW2 and Assassins Creed Origin for $286. Sold the two games for $115 so the Xbox is only $171 for me:)

Assassin's Creed was hard to get rid of since the market is flooded with it. But COD:WW2 was easily sold at $65.

Wtf. I placed mine at 10:01 AM. Paid with Amex so maybe that made a difference for some dumb reason? Maybe try complain? I also visited a Sony kiosk yesterday and they were willing to price match online so I don't think the "limited to 200 orders" restriction was really that rigidly enforced since they all get their stuff from the same warehouse.
Most were on back order anyway like mine, I don't see why they can't put you on backorder too.
I actually down graded from a PS4 Pro to a regular PS4 and I have no regrets. The Pro can be really noisy, runs quite hot, and isn't a substantial increase over the standard hardware, nothing like the difference between Xbox One versus Xbox One X.

Sony still damaging their customers health by not having the choice to turn all wireless tech off with an Airplane Mode. As is Nintendo and Microsoft.

An opportunity exists to be the first to offer Airplane Mode in the firmware as an Advanced setting, prompting the user to plug in a wired controller before enabling it. Official wired controllers are needed for those without interest in using wireless controllers and constantly being surrounded by harmful 2.4 GHz microwaves when gaming. Sony could score PR points for catering to all gamer choices. Then the competitors will follow with their own wired accessories and Airplane Mode.
Simply having the choice to game wired shouldn't be missing. It isn't missing on the PC.

No modern console has an Airplane Mode to give the customer a choice to game 100% wired, despite known scientifically proven damaging health consequences, particularly with the young. Absolutely Shameful.
Sony have officially licensed basic wired controllers but do not have an Airplane Mode to disable all wireless tech being emitted from the console.

Nintendo are the most dependent on wireless, though the Switch changes that somewhat with a more traditional approach and no backward compatibility with Wii. Of course some games are designed for wireless controllers but wired should still be a choice that us available, with a proper airplane mode in firmware. Nintendo can offer official wired controllers and Airplane Mode now more easily than ever.

I have no doubt a microwave weapon is possible, but it's usefulness is limited by physics and the enormous energy requirements. Similar to the current state of mounted laser weapons.

3DS has a no wireless mode and switch has a dedicated aeroplane mode. There are official third party cord controllers and pro controller can be used with a cord.

WiFi & Bluetooth use are non ionising-radiation and are usually in the 300-1000mW range when in use. 10~mW when not in use. That's not going to do much compared to the 1000-1300W that a microwave.
How much it does is not the question. The lack of choice to game 100 % wired for long hours is the issue, without negative health consequences. Which is possible on the PC for example.
