Quality is good. In that the material seems durable and the zippers haven't busted yet. As with most new mattresses, there is the lingering off-gassing that occurs. CS is good.

For me, I found it too firm (even with flipping the layers). I came from a pillowtop spring mattress and I just couldn't adjust to the non-bouncy nature of the Ecosa. Also the fact that when you sit on the side of the mattress (say when you put your shoes on) your butt sinks down almost to the frame, little support there, it was just an awkward feeling for me.

At the end of the day, it is just a mattress (foam/rubber/latex) and felt the price was too close to what I could get a locally made spring mattress in the store for. Those who like non-spring mattresses will have a different view. I am returning the Ecosa and went back to the dreaded brick and mortar retailers and bargained down a King Koil close to what I could get this for (thanks to a little help from the Amex Harvey Norman deal).

Which, by the way, I got the Ecosa for the same price listed here back in October. Don't be too fooled by the promotions all these online mattresses have. They are always having sales (possibly except for OzMattress and Sleep Republic). In this way, they have a similarity to the shady (non-online) mattress industry.

ps. Anyway… if you have time to spare/waste, just go for it. You can't loose with the free trials.

… and my poor grammar. Cheers

      • ecosa is the hardest foam mattress in a box

you picked the wrong 1 to test on.

      • Thanks for the detailed review. It will be helpful.

        Need help

bargained down a King Koil close to what I could get this for

Can you help what you could bargain with Harvey, the one that I thought was ok, was $3000 King Koil Valor Firm after discount about $1500

After finding a specific mattress I liked (King Koil chiro support), I rang around all HN stores in the metro area asking for the best price. They were all different and the staff members all had differing levels of flexibility and willingness to haggle. Then when I found the lowest price I went in to the store and used that best price as leverage.

I was nearly going to pull the trigger then at the last minute went into one of those VIP sales they have. I was able to get the mattress just below the lowest price I found.

The fact is, the mattresses are always on sale and vary slightly from one sale to another. So I didn't care about what the ticket sale price was before or after. RRP is a joke. This was confirmed by the fact that the actual RRP differed between HN stores.

So the mattress was ticketed on sale for $1800 (RRP ~$3000 - joke). Best price haggled down in all stores was $1400. Got it at VIP for $1350. Split payment with Amex to reach a figure of $1150. Not really a bargain for some spring and foam but just waded through the BS pricing. Probably would have liked to keep trying more online mattresses (Eva for example) but was over the whole mattress fiasco.

      • been waiting for review like this on ecosa..
seen many reviews online as well as unboxing youtube videos, cant trust much of them =))

        thanks for the review!

        • Ha, well it wasn't much of a review. But yeah, reviews just got me more confused. So many shady ones with only one review too. Uhhrr…

Have used it for a month now. It's a bit more firm than I would like it to be. No partner disturbance. And almost easy on back. But I am side ways sleeper and that's where it's firmness is not good as per me.

From temp perspective. It's cooler that my previous mattress. And in general as well feels cooler even in this hot summer.

  • The wife ordered this one three months ago. After 2-3 months of usage, I can safely say this is much better than the spring/coil mattress we have had earlier. The thing we like about this one is, it doesnt wake the other person up when one of us moves on the bed.

Can you comment please on whether you find it hotter than your previous innerspring mattress?

      • +2

We personally don't think so. We live in brisbane and some nights, it has gotten warm… but the mattress has been comfortable for us.

    • Is it very firm? The one we have was firm 2 months ago and now it's a lot softer

      • +1

I don't believe the firmness has changed in almost 3 months of use. I think by default, it comes with the medium firmness, but I believe you can change the layers around to make it more firm.

  • What's the main difference between this and the Koala mattress?

    • +2

with this, u dont need to climb up…

      • lol got me thinking for a moment

  • I can't comment on their mattresses but I have their quilt cover which is unbelievable. Way better than any Sheridan's I have owned.

I'm tempted to change to their sheets too (from the most expensive Sheridan's), only wish those accessories items went on sale also.

  • What's the main difference between this and the sleeping duck mattress?

with this, u won't get ur Feather wet…

  • Ordered a king size last year and had it for about 5 weeks. Found it very hard so returned it and got an Ergoflex instead. Have been happy with the Erogoflex so far.

  • Anyone know how to get a discount on the sheets or topper? We have really liked or ecosa mattress - had it about a year.

  • Bought a Queen Ecosa Mattress about a year ago. Very happy with it. I have back pain, so I need something firm, initially was tossing up between Ecosa and Koala, but found out Ecosa is firmer. If you want firmer mattress, would suggest you to go for Ecosa.

Note: A friend ordered Ecosa as well but he returned it as it's too firm for him.

Just something I noticed. I have been looking at the web site and going through reviews etc, off the web site and back on and noted the message box in the lower left of the screen the one that sub-consciously prompts you to panic buy is the same. The same combination of suburbs are buying up these mattresses and bedding each time I enter the site… or is someone lying? Can I trust a manufacturer that lies, can I find one that doesn't that is probably harder. Anyway, just something I noted if there are any panic buyers reading this. I shall return to my conspiracy theories.

Bought ours maybe 5 months ago now and very happy with it. Was concerned it would be too hard for the wife, but she said she likes it like that.
