Pretty decent deal, not really into the color, but not bad for the price.
Update: According to comments, black is available in-store for the same price.

I find mine comfy. Could just be your hand.
Have you ever used MX Revolution and MX Performance? There is no comparison if you haven't used them.
MX Master is the least ergonomic of them all.
I have 4 MX Revolutions - 3 at home and 1 at work. I used the 3 at home every day for 9 or 10 years, and the one at work for 10 or 11 years. Last year I replaced one of the home ones with an MX Master and this year I replaced the work one with another MX Master. Comfort never crossed my mind, they both fit in my hand comfortably.
I would rather trade a new MX Master for a new MX Performance or even a new MX Revolution.
The sharp edges on MX Master are stupid. The curve angles are not right either. And I hate the thumb roller on MX Master. A dial or a horizontal wheel would be much better. Not to mention the thumb press pad (gesture button). God, which moron designed the thumb press pad?
@ayuanx: The biggest thing I didn't like about the MX Revolution is if the battery runs flat, you have no mouse to use. With the MX Master, at least you can leave the micro USB cable plugged in.
The MX Revolution dock looks nice but all my docks developed contact problems after a few years. I'd put the mouse on but it won't charge, leading to the problem above.
Along with being comfortable, my 4 year old MX Performance still runs on it's original eneloop! Need to charge every fortnight but I still find that impressive.
@eug: Same for me. I used an MX Revo for years, replacing the microswitches multiple times - waiting for it's successor to come out. Now that the Master is out I have replaced my Revos with Masters at work and home, and the Revo has been relegated to controlling the HTPC. I find them both comfortable. The only thing I don't like about the Master is that the thumb button (the one hidden in the rest) isn't easy to use - so I just don't use it.
Not to mention the thumb press pad (gesture button)
lol I didn't know there was one until I read this! But yeah personally I prefer the Rev for comfort and button locations. The back and forward buttons being on top of each other on the MX Master 2S is just stupid (the fwd button being so small too). The side scroll wheel on the Rev with the middle click is a better design too. But alas both my Revs have issues and I can't be bothered to fix them switches -_-
@eug:
Clean the contacts. They are tarnished. They will work fine again
AA batteries is how it should be done though.

I used a fiberglass brush, it didn't work reliably. If I use something rougher, I'll remove the plating which would encourage more oxidation. I ended up adding solder blobs for more positive contact which worked for a while, but eventually the prongs on the dock get compressed. I have to keep pulling them out.
After getting an MX master for work I just had to get one for home to replace my MX performance
@eug:
I think something like CLR rather than an abrasive brush would be the way to go. I no longer have mine though
@justtoreply: Fibreglass brushes are made specifically for removing corrosion from electrical contacts, or paint/varnish from small objects or soldering iron tips.
@eug:
Hmm. New info. Thanks
get your hand off it!
Agree, a superb mouse. I like that it's larger than most mice, fits my hand perfectly.
Thanks OP. got one
If only it was the newer 2S…
Not much difference except bundling with Logitech flow software, same can be done for free with Microsoft Garage: Mouse Without Borders (on Windows)
Well, the hardware has improved on the 2S, such as improved senor to now 4000dpi (which will help with larger screen resolutions), and longer battery life!
You don't need the extra precision for larger screens, just increase the speed of your mouse.
Good price for a good mouse. Got mine about 6 months ago and haven't regretted it for a second.
I bought the MX Master after using the Revolution for about 8 years (both for design use on mac). Loved the Revolution, never had problems but it was getting a bit worn. With the master, had to return after about a month with some connection issue. Then after a year of use I've been having a bunch of other issues. The button on that part that sticks out below the thumb gets stuck and prevents movement of the cursor, they battery doesn't last as long as the Rev and I've had connection issues again. Also an annoying thing is on mac, the micro usb cable only charges so you have to use wireless. So while in other areas I think it's good (features, comfort… style) these issues make me regret buying it.

Were you using it with the dongle or over Bluetooth? I remember there being problems with certain MBPs early on. The dongle should work fine though.
The button on that part that sticks out below the thumb gets stuck and prevents movement of the cursor,
Sounds like a dodgy mouse! Should have gotten a replacement.

It only charges on a PC too. It's a wireless mouse after all… what made you think it would work as a wired mouse?

The Logitech gaming mice with charge cables can act as wired when plugged in.
Sure, because they're gaming mice and gamers want the lowest latency possible. But this isn't a gaming mouse, and usb connectivity isn't stated anywhere on the box or website.

I was using with the dongle.

It was just after warranty :( Having a look online it seemed others had the same issue. I couldn't work out what was wrong with the cursor not moving (I could right click to bring up context menus) and it was only after some searching that people were saying it was the thumb pad. Now I just have to stick a knife underneath to pop it out.
It only charges on a PC too. It's a wireless mouse after all… what made you think it would work as a wired mouse?
Just an assumption it would. Was only an issue when a college tried to use it with their macbook and didn't have enough ports to charge the mouse and use the dongle.
I have the same issue - I had to remove the thumb button completely to regain use of my mouse. Silly design flaw if you ask me. Also happened just outside the warranty period.
but you can set it to not do anything in the options?
@CVonC: Even set to do nothing, it appears that on a firmware level the mouse cannot be operated while the thumb button is pushed in.
ah yeah you're right. just tried it, holding thumb button I can't move the cursor. the buttons and scroll wheel work though.
@CVonC: Yup, super annoying. Good mouse otherwise. I'm just starting to lose a bit of battery time though.
The cable only supplies charge regardless of which OS. You have to use the receiver or Bluetooth, no data is sent through the USB cable. I was kind of disappointed with this. It may possibly be a different scenario on the new version.
I have one and use it most days. No issues with the comfort, but I haven't used those other models.
The charge lasts a long time, but I can see it is getting a little shorter in between charges. No issue plugging in a micro-USB cord and continuing.
Yeah, the Revo did seem to have longer charge. I charge my Master about once a week. However, the Revo had to be put on a cradle to charge - whereas the Master is perfectly usable with the charging cable plugged in.
have had mine for a few months
also don't have comfort issues
one of the things holding me back before buying it was the design of the fwd and back buttons. i initially thought impractically small and all for looks
but after a few hours i got used to it and have no problems. not a natural place to put your thumb i agree, but not so terrible to get used to
Love this mouse. Have this since 2 years ago…Battery last quite well..
Have a MX Master…. the wheel spin mode change doesn't work for me for some reason….
Is SmartShift enabled in the Logitech Options app?
Google or YouTube how to fix it. You could waste an hour and take it back to the shop for a replacement/fix, or just fix it yourself. I've had to fix mine for the exact same free-spinning (no clicky) middle scroll wheel issue. Made the small simple adjustment fix, and everything is good since.
For anyone asking about comfort. It really depends on individual palm size. I'm 5'7 and small palm size. Size S on gloves from H&M, Adidas, Reebok and Giro.
I bought this from past deals for work and ended up not comfortable for me (initially had G602 Wireless Gaming). Eventually downgraded to M720 Triathlon, that showed improvement but ergonomics still not there. Lastly, got a G502 (yes, corded) and it has been awesome since.
Had both the performance and master. The hump on the master does need some adjusting. Took me about a month or two to get used to. Doesn't bother me now and going back to the performance… It feels too flat now
Isn't this $45 at Officeworks in dark colour?
Nice price. Out of stock for most places in Sydney though but i might hold out for $45 now that you mention it.
how likely is this going to come back for Officeworks?
Otherwise, I am pull the trigger on JB.
It's cheap because they're clearing them out… so they will not come back.
New model (Master 2S seems to have fast charging (3mins), 4x the tracking (4000DPi) and a better battery (claimed 70 vs 40 days).
Apart from that seems to be the same.
FYI Officeworks had these on clearance for $45 so I wouldn't be surprised to see if they go even cheaper. I've still got my original Performance MX (7 years old) now but like other people have reported going strong just getting worn out (replaced the plastic feet twice) and starting to show raw plastic on the case.
Also the new Master 2S has the "Flow" s/w which allows the mouse to work seamlessly on two different computers with two different screen.
However, thanks to someone on Reddit, I found out about the free s/w "Microsoft Garage Mouse without Borders" which allows any mouse to do the same. Works for me with either the MS Performance or the old MS Master.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/garage/profiles/mouse-withou…
Their description of the s/w below:
"Mouse without Borders is a product that makes you the captain of your computer fleet by allowing you to control up to four computers from a single mouse and keyboard. This means that with Mouse without Borders you can copy text or drag and drop files across computers."
This is going to discolor to a creamy hue within days after I've had my way
Available at Officeworks on Clearance for $45… if your local store has it in stock. None i can find at the stores near me in Brisbane
Out in many places…
Ah I wish was available sooner than butt ugly brown. Happy with brown though, highly functional
For anyone thinking about getting one for gaming; get the g403/g703 instead. This mouse Is great for office/creative work but it has inbuilt mouse acceleration which sucks for gaming, plus the input lag is higher than the g403 and cant be used wired.
but it has inbuilt mouse acceleration
Source? Or how did you determine that?
https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/6cigpw/mx_mast…
The Logitech MX Master is probably the best wireless mouse to use in an office environment.
With that being said, the reason why it is not a great mouse for gaming is because it has stock mouse acceleration in the sensor. It cannot be turned off. This is hugely unpopular in the gaming world.
This comment and few others on reddit/forums mention it can't be turned off. I can't verify the truthfulness of that statement but there's dozens of comments spanning 2+ years mentioning the same thing if you search around.
hmm interesting.. I just checked the controls, there isn't even an option to set the acceleration where as with the Revolution you can set it to none/low/medium/high in SetPoint. I always had my Rev on none, and I just compared it with the 2S (as it's still connected), doesn't feel like there's any acceleration to me.
$45 on clearance at Officeworks - if you can find one
HN have had it at or near this price for 6 months. Although I just checked and now it's really expensive
Guys, officeowrks are seling them for 45, and if you want, just go price match with jb hifi and they'll give it to you in stone colour, which is exactly what I did today
Showing as out of stock for me.
Thanks for the tip! Got a pricematch from JB too. But i went with the black model.
Wonder if JB would price match if there is none in stock at any OfficeWorks in your area.
Depends on the manager, hope JB will clear out the black soon.
Just went in then and got them to price match Office Works. Dude in there didn't even bother to check and was just chill haha.
Do they price match even if there's no stock in the area?
i had no stock in any officeworks near me so the JB dude hesitated at first but then he was like yeah sure why not. They did seem to have a fair bit of the MX Masters in stock though so not sure if that played a part.
Performance MX > MX Master
Saying that, this is a great deal if you can't get the PMX.
Great price for a great mouse, have been using it for over year.
The only thing is that the scroll wheel does pick up a lot of gunk/dust over time. Anyone have any tips on how to clean it?
can last up to 40 days on a single full charge.
Can this mouse really last 40 days per charge?
FWIW I managed to pick up a black instead of stone, looks so much better imo.
So the black scanned at the same price?
Yep, either that or they overrode the price. Receipt: https://i.imgur.com/Mje2wSY.jpg
From the receipt doesn't look like they override it.
@superforever: Should update the main post then, looks like the black scans for the same price.
Got a pricematch from JB. $45 for Black one. Thanks OP
$45??
Yep because it's $45 at Officeworks. JB rep was initially very reluctant & was almost like wtf how can Officeworks sell a $150 mouse for $45. He had no idea this is an outgoing model but happily matched it after finding out from me.
Here is the link:
https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/logitech-m…
You are lucky my JB always check stock availability
Have you tried? Sometimes they have too many in stock & want to get rid of them.
I have tried something else but no luck, Sydney a bit more difficult.
Can confirm black scanned at the same price $59
Got the Black pricematched to OW's $45.
Thanks!
I am late to the party. Just seen this post. Good timing as I need to replace my workstation mouse. I am currently using the mouse that comes with the Logitech K800 wireless keyboard combo. Is MX Master as good as the MX Master 2S?
Is MX Master as good as the MX Master 2S?
Have a read a little bit further up
Cheers mate.
I wonder if anyone can share the receipt picture of the price matched with officework $45(either black/stone colour) to me? I would like to get one if I am still lucky lol
