I'm going to damage my eyesight so I can get this deal.

  • Well done TA. You always deliver the goods

  • -3

I am not bothered unless you change the code :)

  • -2

Combine with Amex offer for another $25 off :)

    • +1

Unfortunately the AmEx offer is in-store only.

      • +1

Damn, just checked the T&C's, that's unfortunate.. will it show up as a different merchant through online?

      • Do they offer gift cards in store that can be used online?

        • No.
Credit card payment only. Visa or Mastercard through worldpay payment portal.

  • I hate it how they only and always do deals for contact lenses; not much love for glasses.

  • how does this work with health fund rebate? Was trying to check it on their page but the health fund page came up with 'sorry, site is currently unavailable / under maintenance'. I'm with medibank (with extras).

    • +2

You claim by uploading/sending the purchase receipt you get via email to your health fund. I'm with HIF and never had any issues claiming.

  • Where can we buy cases for contact lenses?

    • Any pharmacy sells them, they’re only a couple of dollars.

      • Thanks, Chemist Warehouse didn’t sell any, will try another pharmacy…

        • Supermarkets sell them as well. They are often bundled with saline (might be hidden inside the box).

    • Some contact lenses Liquid packages contain cases. It's good to replace the case, from time to time.

    • I usually buy the Bausch & Lomb Renu Fresh 3-for-2 355ml from Chemist Warehouse which comes with a couple of contact lens case.

Such a shame they don't stock Dailies Total 1s..

    • I bought a box of those, tried it, and found they’re not better than acuvue trueye. I find the former gets slightly drier towards the end of the day. I also tried the acuvue oasys 1 day, which wasn’t noticeably better than trueye (although significantly more expensive). Ymmv, but dailies total 1 are also not cheap either.

Also specsavers sell total 1 in stores, not sure why it’s not online. You should be able to take advantage of the Amex deal if you have it saved.

  • Thank you TA!!

  • My prescription happens to be the same for both eyes, how can I get around the requirement to buy two identical boxes (left and right)? I was hoping to try a different brand or two with this cheap deal.

    • Select quantity 1 for one eye, quantity 0 for the other eye. I'm kicking myself for not testing out some cheaper brands this way.

      • I tried that but it disabled the "add to basket" button. :( Maybe it's a particular brand? I was looking at the easyvision Opsys Daily Disposables

        • No, those happened to be one of the two random lenses I added. Try again? The site has been slow to respond sometimes.
          https://www.specsavers.com.au/contact-lenses/daily-disposabl…

        • @deeevan: The page loads fine, but the button is only enabled when I pick at least one each of left and right. Tried Chrome and Safari on Mac, and Safari on iPhone. The button just goes back to "Enter your prescription when I have Quantity set to zero for either left or right. Doesn't seem fair to advertise a price for one box if the minimum order is two.

        • @lupiter: In Chrome at least, it looks like the "Add to basket" button is greyed out if you have selected quantity 0 AND have the sphere selection to anything other than "Select". Change the sphere selection back to "Select" and try again. Working here.

        • @MickeyJ: Genius! Thanks!

    • A bit late to your response but I’ve always been able to buy lenses for one eye (I’ve got same prescription for both eyes). Worked on both the computer and iPad.

  • Nice one TA.. always on the ball!

  • +1

This late in the year, I've used up already all my Healthfunds allowance for contact lenses. Shame !

  • Hi everyone, I need some advice. My wife usually buys Bausch & Lomb soft contact lenses. I couldn’t find them on Specsavers site. Can you suggest any other brand very similar to the Bausch & Lomb? All she needs is soft lenses. Thanks.

    • +1

This is probably a question for an optometrist. I use Accuvue Oasys, for what it's worth and have been very happy with them. But your wife may have some consideration issue which may caused an optometrist to originally prescribe B&L.

  • Thank you, my supplies from the last deal were dwindling

  • Great bargain, I use Lacrima Plus lenses, just got six months worth for what I normally pay for three. Thanks so much, I'm basically set until the next bargain!

  • So i'm guessing PHI will let us only claim post discount amount?

    • +1

      Yes that's correct.

  • It's comforting to know that so many people have eye problems :)

  • "Only one promotion code per customer"

Okay I'm an idiot. Does this mean I can only use it once? I seem to remember last year I was able to get discount on multiple orders. But this time I tried the code a second time and it didn't work.

    • Open a different account with another email address?

  • on a tangent here - but does anyone know of any contact solution bargains?

    • +1

Perhaps not a bargain, but these were the best value when I needed some a while ago: http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/76188/Complete-Easy-R…

      • do these make your eyes sting??

        • +1

I haven't experienced that. I find it pretty soothing, but everyone's eyes are different :)

        • @stig: okay cheers!

    • +1

The best deal I've found for AO SEPT contact lenses solution is from: http://www.contacts.net.nz You have to buy in bulk though.

company is based in NZ, so the NZ GST is removed at checkout, also, the price is in NZ dollars (Aussie dollar is stronger) And deliver is reasonable at $10.

I bought 3.2 liters of solution delivered for $135 AUD. Cheaper than anywhere else I could find. Hope this helps.

      • thanks! rn im using alcon opti-free replenish bc its pretty soothing on the eyes - but happy to try out other brands

Call up these guys to see what price they are selling it for now…

  • +1

Can anyone provide any info on what the difference between all the brands are?

  • Thanks TA!!! got some Day n night lenses!! The deal is first $99 spent to get $50 off, not every but still awesome deal!

  • Does anyone have any recommendations for lenses? I'm looking at the dailies, and they all seem so similar. Vusion, Vitrea, Umere, Clarision Sphere etc. - are they just marketing buzz-words? It looks like the easyvision ones are the generic brand so they are probably the best value? I've read the descriptions but they don't really explain anything.
I feel very clueless, up until now I have only even worn whatever my optometrist has given me.

    • +2

Best to consult optometrist, let him or her get you some trial lens for different brands. See which one you feel most comfortable with.

    • Yeah I don't know, you would probably just need to try them all to see what difference (if any) you feel.

I have been buying Vusion due to the FDA clearance for the dry eyes claim, and I mean they're fine… I have accidentally fallen asleep with contacts still in recently so maybe that's a sign that I can't feel them there as much as usual?

  • Oh, single use only now…
    Still a good deal though.

    • Okay so not just me then. thanks

  • Thanks for the deal TA.

I'm now in the ridiculous situation where contact lenses are cheaper than contact lens solution. I use Oxysept at $28 a pack from Chemist Warehouse, which is a more expensive hydrogen peroxide solution. Most comfortable cleaning solution I've found.

If anyone knows of any Oxysept deals would love to hear about it.

Or If you can mix me up some 1% hydrogen peroxide….(joke).

  • +1

Stuffed my last set into my face 3 days ago.

Check OZB for reordering….no deals… sadface

    then this … happyface

  • +1

"Unfortunately, the contents of your basket do not qualify for the promotion code entered." Contents totalled to $108.

    Has this ended already?

    • Same here @ $93…

    • one redemption per account.

      • I'm not signed in and it says that :/
Edit: oh nvm I know where I goofed lol.

  • Acuvue Moist Dailies have gone up $3/box but still a good deal overall.

  • You can also get a further 5% off here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/336245

  • I went through the checkout, registered myself along the way.. but i couldnt find where i can put my promotion code ? anyone here may shed some lights ?

  • :( total forgot about the deal

  • 2 mins late noooooo :(((((

    • cyber monday maybe?

  • Its still not 12pm in Brisbane and the code stopped working. it worked at 10:50pm, I entered the checkout page at 11:01 and it took off the code then kept giving a
page error. loged in with another account and the code wouldnt work at 11:10pm on the 24th

    • As stated in the OP, ended midnight AEDT :)

  • For those subscribed to this thread, a similar offer today for Cyber Monday. See here.
