mate it's creative…nowadays competition is high and just a good deal isnt enough to get upvoted here…we expect effort on the side of the OP

Thanks for the neg but I would appreciate it if you weren't enforcing your views on me.

I'm not allowed to say if that was a bad pun?

Thanks for doing the math in the subject line, otherwise I would've struggled with it.

    • +2

I double checked using a calculator and can confirm they are $1 each

      • +2

is that including or excluding GST?

Some of these are not real deal KPs

Bargain or otherwise depends on size.

If they had a price per kg, then that would be much clearer to assess. E.g. Harris Farm recently had imperfect mangoes for $2.99/kg. They were imperfect in that there might be a slight black mark on the skin or slightly smaller, but otherwise no different to imperfect ones.

Are you sure the imperfect ones were no different to the imperfect ones?

      • Absolutely no difference in taste, otherwise I wouldn't have bought them regularly when available.

When size matters I can’t up vote until I see the product.

That's right. It's like comparison of a J cup vs an A cup. Size does affect the enjoyability.

ALDI's mangoes are the size of a lemon. I've seen it.

    • +2

      Some lemons are big.

      • I must say my lemons are pretty huge

my neighbours have mango trees. easy pickings from the street!

  • I find KP and Calypso have the most boring flavour. Give me Honey Gold any day!! And the RE2 or random letter one.. also so much flavour.

    • My parents only like KP, none of the other varieties

  • My local Asian grocer has been selling ripe and juicy Mangoes for $1. This is nothing special.

  • So shit - went just now and they are all green and small.

    • That's my experience too with Aldi KPs

      • 2 years back i went into aldi before work and they were selling for $1. I bought around 20 of them and the biggest one weighed like 700g.
I also heard on the news that this year is by far one of the best they have had for mango growing seasons. So i wonder why the prices havent gone down. Have our mangoes been shipped overseas more so then previous years?

        • +1

You may be on to something. Aldi fruit n veg quality has been hit and miss off late. I've particularly not happy with their mangoes this season. Last week I bought $1 ones from my local fruit shop and they were real deal. So I know where to look for good KPs.

  • North Sydney had stock of these tonight. Yellow, not green. Certainly smaller than the last one I bought, but IMHO still good value.
