hmm. Wonder if Harveynormal can match so I can use my amex thingy…

    • +3

      me too…

They will match but i'm looking for a Nintendo Switch Bundle

      • +1

Same email from eb. $450 for a switch and 3 amiibo.

        • +1

@Rakddon: Aren't we all? I think catch of the day has it for 20 bucks cheaper.

        • +1

          No games?

        • +1

          Any discounts on Switch games?

        • +2

@tassieeagle: After speaking with a person that runs my local EB, he said nintendo usually do their own sales for these kinds of things and they cant really put a good sale on it themselves. So from what I can gather, the switch sales will be fairly average or non existent

        • +1

@Mentoscoin: That's why I'm putting my lot in with hoping there is a good ebay coupon so I can get it from gamesmen or eb ebay stores.

        • +1

@Mentoscoin: thanks for the info :)

      • +1

I thought Gerry refused to match bundles?

        • +1

I asked about this a few weeks ago - you are correct. They do not match prices for bundles.

      • +1

Just got email from The GamesMen Mario Odyssey bundle https://www.gamesmen.com.au/nintendo-switch-neon-joy-con-con… $499.95 (not a huge discount)

        • +1

Hopefully it's that price on ebay ;)

    • +1

didn't think they price matched bundles….

    • +1

      They don’t match bundle offer.

  • +2

With 5 games! What a deal

  • +1

PS4 or PS4 PRO that is the question

    • +2

The thumbnail is a little misleading. If you click on it you will see the full picture and see the PS4 Pro deal to the right.

      • +4

I think asa is pondering which console he should get, not asking about which console this deal comes with

    • i have a pro but its not worth it specs wise unless you have a 4k HDR10 TV.

price difference isnt much for a little more future proofing though.

    • I'd say it's not worth buying the normal PS4 unless you have no intentions of getting a 4K TV in the next 5 years.
If you're planning on a new TV (or have one) in the next 5 years.. then get the Pro.
Other comments also stating the Pro will give better results overall.

      • +2

I'd just go for the standard PS4 imo, all good if you have 4k tv right now… but if planning to get a 4k tv in around 5 years time, there probably be a PS5 with real 4k right out of the box anyways.

    • +1

Only difference PS4pro does 4K and HDR.
If you do not have a HDR and/or 4K TV, it's a waste to have a PS4 pro.

If you have plans to buy a 4k TV later on, then PS4 pro.

      • +2

Agree with the above, but I think some games also allow faster frame rates with the Pro, and some sort downsampling of higher resolution, which will looks better on 1080p, so still some worth for non 4K TV's. I would probably still go a PS4 instead of Pro if I was buying… My xbone barely gets any use though so can't justify it. When LOU2 comes out I will :)

        • +2

Yep. I've got no 4k but I'm getting a Pro for Monster Hunter World's option to focus on frame rate.

I do plan on getting a 4k sometime in the next two years though.

  • +1

Does the pro make all games better or just games written for it. Any of the 5 games use the pros features?

    • Only for those games with the 4k patch, though I suspect that 'regular' games will perform a bit better as well (can someone confirm)?

From memory all the games listed are pro enhanced.

      • +2

All games benefit from "Boost Mode" regardless of whether or not they are pro enabled.
It simply prevents dips in FPS from the same FPS target (eg. you will no longer get drops from 30 or 60FPS during intense scenes).

        • +2

Boost mode is only enabled for games which don't have a Pro patch.

        • @fatpizza:
You neg'd my comment over a trivial technicality. Seriously? OP was asking if non-Pro games benefit and they do.

        • -7

          @Viper8:

It wasn't me who negged your comment. So I'd appreciate it if you took your neg off mine.

        • +1

          Thanks.

Is this more like what Xbox x is, enhanced, better frame rates, 4 k , textures, draw distances, shadows etc or just really 4k and frame rates.

Just trying to figure out the real difference between Xbox x and PS4 pro, our PS4 is due to be replaced and I don't know what to get.

      • +1

        Thanks.

    • +1

Yes all 5 games have Pro upgrades

    • +1

Yes, Boost Mode may increase frame rate for all games.

  • +1

    Finally a decent pro deal!

  • +1

Is it possible to trade in the 5 games to take the price of the console?

    • +3

You could probably trade them in immediately after buying for store credit, but you'd have to have a very friendly sales clerk who wasn't afraid of losing their job to do it in reverse.

      • +11
        1. Buy the games
        2. Trade them in
        3. Buy the bundle
        4. Return the games using receipts from original purchase of the games
        • +2

You are a True OzBargainer, A++

        • +1

I don't see any benefit? Yes you get full price back on the games in the bundle, but that's only cos you've already lost out on trading in the original games you purchased. You end up with the same result, only more effort spent.

        • +1

          @Viper8:

This way you get to use the trade in TOWARDS the purchase of the bundle itself. Rather than trading in after and then having to spend the credit at EB. They do not trade in for cash.

TLDR: This way you get to use the trade it from the games within the bundle straight away.

        • +1

          @Xishnik:
          Gotcha

        • +6

Omg. You evil genius you. Your OzB level is miles above me… Thanks for sharing!

        • +1

          Hello,

I kinda understand but not really, so breaking it into more detail.

1 - buy game individually at say discounted $20 each = $100 total a whatever price/offer they have, keep receipt
2 - trade them in straight after purchase, you get back full price back or they credit at buy price?
          3 - get store credit
4 - buy bundle with included games and apply credit from point 3.
5 - This should drop the bundle price a bit
6 - Return the games using receipts from original purchase of the games, you get full EB credit to spend on other games? or they refund the money? don't they change the original receipt and give you a new one?

hot day, brain malfunction, need more details please.

        • +1

          @Elias11:

It doesn't matter how much you pay for the games initially. You get the FULL amount back regardless. You get it back in the same tender that you used to pay for it in the first place - this is for REFUNDS. When doing trade in, you get store credit only.

When you trade them in, you get TRADE IN value as EB credit. You put this credit towards the purchase of the bundle.

The bundle contains the games you just bought, so now you use the receipts for those same games, to REFUND.

Outcome is that you bought the BUNDLE using trade in from the games that come as part of the bundle.

        • +1

          @Elias11:

I think the key point is that you do not need original receipt to trade in,just bring the games and your ID.

        • +1

          @Xishnik:
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh brain seems to have clicked now!
          Thank you!!!

        • +1

          @Xishnik:

Will eb accept refund due to change of mind?

        • +1

Does it look bad if all this happens in the space of 5 minutes within the EB store?
Is it frowned upon or will they just say no?
Or better to request the refund the next day.

If we explain this to the sales rep,
I wonder if they’ll be okay just to trade them in and reduce the price without going to all the effort

        • +1

          @Sjfilly:

EB has 7 day return policy no questions asked. So no issue with it.

        • +1

Easier and probably cheaper to buy it from Costco selling it for $399

        • @ashg5446:
So has anyone done this yet? what ended up being the cost of the bundle at the end?

        • @Elias11: I am interested to know this too….

    • +1

i was able to on a ps3 in 2012, though i did buy another game in the same transaction which the traded in games came to the value of.

      this was what i purchased
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/71680

  • +1

Not bad at all, though I hope they have another bundle option since two of the titles are dupes from the XBX bundle and I'd like to get both (and I have the others) - regardless, it's definitely a good bundle.

  • +1

hmm… So is it worth it if you already got a 4k HDR TV? Currently on a normal PS4, will I notice any difference? Would probably end up selling the games as I already have them so that would get the price down another $70-120 all up I guess

    • +2

I have a PS4 Pro and i'm using it on a 55" 4K TV that doesn't even support HDR and you can still notice the difference in quality when playing games that support the higher res. You will also benefit from better performance too. Not a huge difference but noticeable.

  • +1

    Do JB price match bundles?

    • +1

No JB does not price match bundles which is annoying. I just went and asked them as I have a giftcard for their store

      • +1

Bugger. I got a gift card as well. Might try my luck anyway.

        • +1

If it works for you let me know too!

  • +1

Does anyone know the trade in value?

When I got my Xbox i went to JB and told them about an EB deal, but said I wanted different games.
I got pretty much 5 games I wanted, rather than a whole bunch of random ones, half of which I owned, for the same price as the EB console.

The only downside is they were all pre-owened games but they didnt faze me in the slightest.

    • I called up. I've got a level 3 card thing with EB
$60 for 4 of the games. They don't trade in The Elder Scrolls for some reason.

      • Thanks for the response. I should of been more clear.

I was wondering what my 500GB ps4 console would trade in as.

    • +8

Are you trolling with the constant reference to kids and consoles? Give it a break…

      • Nah, just looking for a good deal for Xmas…

        • +1

Microsoft website. Build a bundle and tack on cheap 360 games which are backwards compatible from eBay. I am not sure of the age range you are buying for but I think the XB1 has the best value for families. Most PS4 exclusive titles arent rated PG etc.

        • -1

          @Third_Gear:

Haven't decided between PS4 and Xbox yet, but leaning towards PS4. They need to have some kid friendly options though… Age range about 10ish…

        • +1

          @jv:

why not just sell these games privately and then use that cash to buy new games privately?

        • +1

@jv: heaps of games no problem. Lego etc are all fine and you got the usual mine craft. Lots of great deals all the time on PSN for digital games.

  • +1

Crikey! That's a good deal on the PS4 Pro.

Real keen to see if stores nearby have the Marvel VS Capcom Collectors Edition in stock though.

  • +1

Also Steam Link + $20 Steam gift card for $29 is hella good.

Might pick that bad boy up.

  • +1

Bloody hell, won an eBay auction last night for a brand new PS4 Pro 1TB with 4 pre-owned games for around this price.

This is a good deal nevertheless, some of the titles are stale, but include many hours of painstaking fun…

  • +1

Does it matter with the pro if you only have a HDTV, can anyone recommend a External HDD to go with it

    • +1

for an external hdd id probably recommend any seagate one, they are relatively affordable and pretty fast. I currently use an internal 2TB seagate hdd in my ps4 and it works just fine. Has been in my PlayStation for about 2 years now.

  • +1

Does the PRO version have faster menus than a normal PS4?

  • +1

Finally the Pro has come up with a sick as deal for this weekend. Do we know if it's a jet black or white console?

    • +1

when i called they said probably both, depends on availability

  • +1

Good deal OP, how much do you reckon it’ll come down to if I trade in my 500GB PS4? (Not slim)

    • +1

      I asked EB games 2 weeks ago and they said $170 for 1TB non-slim. So probs $140 for $500GB? Terrible I know…

      • +1

So all together it comes down to 360, that’s pretty good I guess. I could get rid of all the scratches and sell it online for cheaper.

        Thanks

        • +1

You mean sell it online for more right…

        • +1

@Viper8: lol yep my bad my heads all over the place from all these Black Friday deals. :)

      • +1

When you trade in the gear, do they do a full check?
My PS4 original has a problem where it occasionally ejects the disk. But looks fine and works the majority of the time fine.
Do they do any diagnostics in store?

        • +1

No idea. No way I'm selling my CUH-1200 in mint condition for that (They pay same for CUH-1000, 1100 and 1200).
I reckon I could get $250 after haggling for it after 1 week online.

        • +1

sumtimes they just put it in a box, sumtimes they plug it in to see it powers up.
they dont have time full full diagnostic when theres customers waiting and u r picking up new console on the spot. dont think they care much as it all gets shipped to head storehouse. they dont even want boxes unlike cex.

i was annoyed my 2tb gow console was worth same as a normal 2tbbut thats how it works.

  • +1

Anyone have inside info as to what jb might be offering? their bundles page is coming up blank at the moment?

    • +1

im hoping with black friday and amazon starting tomorrow they have something competitive!

  • +1

Can they take the games out of the price? Already have them all.

    • +1

My bad. Just read entire post lol

  • +1

Anyone know if you can pick the white one?

    • +1

when i called they said probably both, depends on availability

  • +1

Guess evil within 2 and wolfenstein are not selling too well….as they are giving every different bundle

  • +1

Any deals on a Slim 500Gb?

Won't be getting a 4K display anytime soon as my Panasonic Plasma is still beautiful for my needs…

    • +1

Yes, check the link from the op.

      • +2

Ah, thanks, sorry didn't see that.

Not remotely as competitive as the Pro deal. :(

  • +1

so the left one is PS4 Slim?
