it's a freebie while they trial a $70/month subscription (basically a sign up perk)
edit: I shall admit that the bracelet style looks pretty cool (micro-USB to lightning), I can't see any benefit over getting a cheap cable and stuffing it in your backpack for a "just in case" scenario
