Yeah I literally just read that undervolt idea as well… mental for a brand new laptop to have to resort to that.
CPU throttling is the first thing that should be tested on these game oriented laptops as it plagues a lot of them that don't have sufficient cooling or have downward facing vents.
Because it’s quicker and easier to downvote than google.
I would go with this comment because I have XPS 15 (release 2015). I have seen that overheat in that model. When the new model came out I did some research for overheat problem.

Got this laptop; it's claimed to be the BEST ULTRABOOK AT ANY PRICE.
Definitely PASS. I've had nothing but problems.
On another note, have you had any luck trying to get dell out to fix it?
