original deal here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/342019

It's a bit niche, but I've been looking at putting irrigation under some new turf in my yard - had more or less settled on this drip tube. Spoke to the store guy and had it also listed in the Home&Garden category so the 15% off coupon works.

Netafim Techline AS XR … XR means it has copper oxide impregnated in the drippers so that roots don't clog it, apparently is a permamnet treatment.

For comparison, 50m of the non-XR techline is $59 at Bunnings

    $177.55

That's a lot of many for a kilo or two of plastic with holes in it.

It is - this does have built in drippers however which are pressure compensated, copper impregnated though

this does have built in drippers however

For that price, you'd want it to have built in wifi

        • I'd prefer band 28

  • May sound stupid but is this an alternative to traditional sprinklers? I presume more effective as with a normal sprinkler you get water run off and it dries before it gets absorbed?

    • Alternative for sure, but needs to be set up properly like any irrigation system, and buried etc. Yep benefit is less water usage, clean install, even coverage etc

Yep benefit is less water usage

and authorities can't see you watering during water restriction periods.

  • No band 28.

Do you really want to be competing with jv?

  • Good deal. I have 450m of the non XR in my lawn. 5 minutes of watering each day and my lawn looks amazing.

    • Newbie question: would you recommend this to a new irrigation setup? Will the amount of water released be about the same at the start and end of the hose?

I want to set something up at home but I'm not sure where to start or what to use. What else would I need apart from this hose?

  • Thanks OP. Just what I needed.
