Wacaco Nanopress 2017 Edition $76.95 (30% off) @Mountain Designs

70

Some good reviews here as well as the product description.

Coffee snobs also had a thread about it.

Bought myself one, and the minipresso (older model) was also very popular, haven't used it yet though, so won't be able to tell you how it's functioned, but the reviews have been raving. At 30% off, even COTD (or catch) can't match this one.

It is a hand held expresso maker, you need to provide your own coffee and hot water. Compared to the aeropress, this one makes espresso, while the other makes more of an americano/long black at half the price. Comes with a carry case as well.

Thanks to the 30% off deal by drillvoice here

Username does not check out :P

  • You can also buy an attachment that lets you use Nespresso pods

    • Yep I think that's an extra ~$40?

      • Yeah just checked Wacaco site and it’s cheaper to buy from them direct for this, only $19.99 USD no shippin fee.

        • Nice, thanks!

  • What's the difference between this one vs. one's sold on AliExpress for less? http://goo.gl/P7z9JA

    • Looks like the older Minipresso. Less water volume, far less pump pressure.

    • Thats a fake minipresso. Original Wacaco Minipresso is available for 59$ here.

  • Still no news about nanopresso barista kit (for double espresso)?

    Still out of stock/unavilable on Wacaco's website…

I want one, but only if I can do doubles!

Good price for an Aeropress as well.

    • i have the aeropress but wonder if i need a nanopress. How does the nanopress compare with the aeropress?

      • From what i have seen from the reviews, the nanopress actually makes proper espresso with crema unlike aeropress.

Aeropress is somewhere halfway between a french press and espresso - it utilises pressure, but nowhere near enough for a true espresso.

Nanopress is an espresso made with a pressurised basket - some would say it's not really an espresso (fake crema, etc), but closer to a "proper" espresso than an Aeropress.

They both will make somewhat decent espresso-like drinks (while neither being a "proper" espresso like you would get from a proper espresso machine).

        • Thanks.

  • Had the old one before. Does make a good coffee and probably very good if you cannot survive a day without coffee on your trips.
Bought one for the home (living overseas at the moment and trying to live light) and can be a bit fiddly with the clean up afterwards I have to say. I switched to doing my own pour overs now.

  • I thought I'd let the coffee lovers in here know that there is now a code (COFFEELOVER) for 15% off ordering direct from the Wacaco website. It brings down the bundle of Nanopresso + Barista kit to USD$84.92, or just the barista kit alone to USD$25.42, or the Nespresso pod adaptor to USD$16.92, with free international shipping (from Hong Kong).
