Google Home - $124.99 Shipped (SG) @ Shopmonk

Shopmonks daily deal. Google Home at the cheapest I’ve seen it. They’re now saying Melbourne based warranty service so that’s a plus but obviously at this price grey imported stock.

      • been waiting for 3 weeks for delivery as well.
        got told stuffed up shipping.
I will never buy anything from them from now

        • Still waiting for the xiaomi robot vacuum from their last deal, was sent a tracking number that didnt work last week and was told yesterday that I should receive it by the end of this week.

        • @crazynic:
I was told exactly the same thing and I bought the robot vacuum as well. Maybe they couldn't get stock and just buying time?

        • @nicksnoobie: yep that's what they're doing

      • Thanks for this feedback on the store; even for a $120 item bad warranty behaviour and very long delivery times definitely rule them out.

    • Why would you buy an iPhone 8 from overseas? No 2 yr Australian warranty on it… only 1yr worldwide Apple warranty.

Lots of items do come extremely slow from this seller.

If a company sells to this country, then they have to abide by our warranty rules, regardless of whether it was bought overseas or not. Those rules are not even 2 year warranty, but, reasonable amount of time as stated on consumer warranty on the ACCC website. They can't just remove your rights as an Australian. If they send it here, they must abide by our rules. Apple is in no way immune to this, regardless of where their products are sold through. Also, Apple don't ask for a receipt when taking it to one of their stores for repair either.

You really don't have a clue what you're talking about. How do you take a company that has no legal entity established in Australia to court?

        • @jared444: he isn't entirely wrong I don't exactly remember the case but do remember that the accc did notify authorities in the states over a person that was selling fake opera house tickets to Australians and tourists alike. The accc filed for a freezing order and attempted to recover the person's assets. It's possible but extremely difficult and accc will not pursue it unless it's widespread.

*edit-I study law but ain't that good a remembering stuff lol

        • @nobby148:

That's a criminal case. Very different.

@jared444: Apple have no legal entity in Australia? Are you daft?

        • @ONEMariachi: Apple didn’t sell you the phone. Shopmonk did.

        • @stirlo: Lol, no worries. It's never been a problem for me. The ACCC also completely disagrees with you.

        • @ONEMariachi: If the product was not produced for or sold in the Australian market (aka Hong Kong iPhone model) then there is no ACL guarantee.

        • -1

@ONEMariachi: Apple is the wholesaler not to direct seller. Even if the seller was apple and the purchase was made in the states they don't have to abide by Australian consumer Law. I hope you don't provide anyone advice, you're an open book of nonsense.

        • @ONEMariachi:

I ask once again. How do you take an organisation to court when the transaction was done under a different legal entity. You're making crap up to save face and not admit you're just clueless in general.

  • Worth buying even if I am 'Apple' invested?
Or just hold out for HomePod…

I've fitted my house out with Lifx and Yeelights (thanks ozbargain!) however have no way to 'talk' to it still :(

Stay away from these folks, once you buy you r on your own…that’s pretty much it.

They don’t even have a phone number to contact and they sell so much stuff and they don’t respond to any emails at all…I’m waiting for a few weeks

    • Yup, I am still waiting for my Xiaomi vacuum cleaner from their last deal as well.
Got the tracking number saying it is now in Melb today but 3 weeks is way too long!
