    I was charged full price after using code POWE11068, cart showed discounted price but after order was complete the price was changed to remove the discount. edit: Just checked my Paypal account and was charged $7.94 ABOVE what the order is showing, making the item much more than usual price, is this normal Gearbest practice?

      Looks like the coupon has just reached its maximum uses.

      Always check the PAYPAL amount before paying, happened to me too, $1.11 turned to $8.73!

      Contact Gearbest via its ticketing for refund.

      Dickbeaver, I have 2 tickets open for items where I was over charged and I am getting the run around.
      First item was a coupon that expired while I was paying. Have been waiting a week for them to investigate.

      Second item was $71.00 on the website, but would say $78.11 in the cart. Spoke to Live Chat and he said to buy and they'll refund the difference as it was an IT error with the cart.
      No refund of the difference happened and I have now had 7 replies to the ticket where she she has denied the difference and she has replied with screenshots of the wrong item circled as an example of nothing wrong, or she flat out denies there was a price error, even though I have given the Live Chat transcript as proof.

        I appreciate their cheap prices but having a look at some other comment threads it seems their shopping cart system has some serious bugs as these sort of problems are common. If I buy from gearbest again I will be much more careful.
        I have already been issued a refund for the above problem so it seems their problem resolution is also hit and miss.

      You definitely need a gateway for the sensor.
      Unsure how you could integrate mi with the hue, but you'd need something like openhab

      It's 8W LED light bulb, probably equals to old incandescent light 40W light bulb.

      If you got a opaque oyster cover, it will further reduce the brightness.

      You need to buy each one separately, no way to combine order. Even it allows 2 or 3 per account, sometimes you still need to order one by one using the same coupon code.

      I found this practice generates too much wastes, GB should improve its ordering system to allow combining orders.

    Kettle is annoying to use if you don't have much time to tinker with the app.

    Hindsight, would not have bought it.

    You still need to press a button on the kettle to start it boiling.

    My $30 Kogan variable kettle is still my go to.

      I use the kettle as a poor man's version of a Sous Vide cooker and also for boiling water.
      I use it for salmon slices and small lamb chops.

        Yea I mainly drink a quality loose leaf tea from Asia. It's a pain to use compared to the bonavita or brewista.

        It depends what you use it for. It's well built quality kettle though in fairness.

      I'm interested in it for "sterilisation" of water, IE keeping the water at 100 deg for five minutes. How easy is this to set up in the app? Can multiple Bluetooths be connected to it at once? It'd be a pain to have to ask the wife to turn off her Bluetooth just to use the kettle.

      I can't believe I'm saying this about a kettle, but it would be better if it had wifi, or zigbee.

      We've broken one kettle by keeping the boil switch held down. We switched to a Sunbeam that does sterilisation, which is great, but the build quality of these things is terrible. We're on our second one now and I can tell it's about to break in the same way as the first one.

      Question for kettle users. Can you set different temps without using the app? eg. alternate between 60 degrees and 100 degrees.

      I'm also assuming that this kettle isn't compatible with something like the aqara zigbee switch?

          @chawbery: Yes. The second button I find quite inconsistent though. If you have spare money and are interested in the latest gadget person I would recommend.

          I just find that it's such an effort to boil water for my conspicuous consumption of tea.
