  • Not sure if it's the same model, but the playbar is $884 here without needing Amex https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/collections/speakers/products…

    • Will HN pricematch this? Then pay with Amex?

      • Doubt they pricematch against online websites.

        • They do have physical stores too, Melb and Sydney.

        • @Vinnie Barbarino: Good chance you could then. Videopro is an option too.

      • +2

Not sure, but point is I don't think you can claim a deal if it's the normal price minus a credit, otherwise every single HN item is a 'deal'

        • Would be the cheapest available if you combine with 2 Amex cards? Plus the $100 gift card

        • @Sir King Nameless: same can be said for the x amount of products they sell > $400

        • @ChippyD: So you're saying, $795 for a Sonos speaker + $100 GC isn't a deal? I don't think I've seen cheaper for the sonos playbase but I could be wrong.

        • +1

@Sir King Nameless: So it's worth posting a deal for a full priced $3000 TV minus a few Amex credits because it's the best price ever? The site would be flooded if that's the case

        • @ChippyD: not sure about a full priced TV but you could price match the speaker against Videopro possibly to get it down a further $100.

        • @Sir King Nameless: That'd make it more of a 'deal', as it stands though it's a full priced product minus a store wide credit, which to me isn't a deal

        • @ChippyD: ill fix that once I confirm with HN in the morning.

        • @Sir King Nameless: I didn't know you could split the bill into 2 at HN. has anyone done this before?

        • +1

@Fluid Head: Surely can. Did this (price match + split bill) at the last promo with no issues.

        • +1

          @Sir King Nameless:

Yes I can confirm you can price match and get HN $100 card.

Works out to $651 for Playbar or Sub using one Amex offer.

        • @kostonsave: Well, had a chat with online rep, and they can't price match because it is against their terms and condition, as in competitor doesn't offer any bonus GC but even if Hardly normals offer GC, competitors pricing is better, if you don't have Amex card that is.

        • @cloudie9:

If you can find a good rep they will do it for you in person.

It helps if you have purchased several Playbars/Subs from them in the past ;)

        • @kostonsave: Their online rep is shocking, anyway, I'll the shops tomorrow :)

        • @cloudie9:

Just call around to different HN stores. Some reps are very flexible.

When I went in recently, they need to hit their sales figures for the year soon. They were all very keen to make a deal.

          Good luck!

        • @Sir King Nameless: how many people are likely to have two amex cards to split….

        • @solidussnake: Offers these days get maxed out within hours as against days/weeks in the past. Surely a good majority should do.

      $885 Shipped from here too

$874 Shipped from here with 5% off code

  • -1

You can get it for free! If you use 10 Amex offers…

  • What is the main difference between Playbar and Playbase? I assume you can also use Playbar with the TV.

    • In terms of sound quality, the Playbar sounds better. Portability wise, the playbase scores.

    • -1

Playbase have inbult sub where the playbar doesnt. Sound quality pretty similar i reckon

  • Wonder when they'll stock the Sonos One

  • How does Sonos stack up against Bose ?

    • Debatable. Have owned a Bose previously. In terms of sound, Bose marginally outperforms. App and technology wise, Sonos is a clear winner.

      • Better sound in order of my prefrence = Bluesound, HEOS, Bose, Sonos
Best app = Sonos no contest, Heos is getting better though with every update

      • Makes me want to get one. Thanks guys.
