  • You helped me out in a tight spot with some quality anker power line + micro usb 3m cables before CableGeek but I think some of your prices are not as competitive anymore sorry man :(

$30 AUD per cable was a bit pricey but I understand because it was the 3m kind and couldn't find it cheaper elsewhere since Amazon wasn't shipping here with those lengthy cables a year ago.

No dramas with my last batch but I paid a fortune compared to others.

I think it came to be like $90 plus shipping - 20%

  • +2

Been waiting on a deal from you guys to pick up the Anker PowerPort+ with PD but now it’s gone up $10 anyways so makes this redundant

    • Me too. It's a shame that it only does 45W on the PD port.

    • Actually we are closing to running out of stock and we haven't been able to order more stock from Anker for the past 6 months due to their supply chain issues. Unfortunately we can no longer offer any deals on this product because we cannot replace them.

Trust me, if we had unlimited supply of this product, we would have done OzBargain deals every month on this one because it's really popular — we've sold hundreds of units to date. Now that we only have double-digit stock remaining, I think it's better to let the market sort out who gets the last units (i.e. we could have decide to sell everything at $50 to deplete all the stock in a few hours, but this will greatly disappoint people who actually value it at over $99).

As far as I know this is the only multi-port USB-C PD charger that's RCM approved. We can't legally sell any non-approved power products so it's not comparable to grey imports.

      • I expect you probably can't answer this, but, do you know if more of this one (or a new model) is likely before March?

        • We are working with a new supplier (authorised by Anker) for this and we believe that this item will be available again in a few months. However, the SRP for this product is now $99.95 and we cannot profitably sell this product at the prices of previous deals.

Again this is the product of its kind in the market so we are at the mercy of Anker and their distributors with regards to pricing and availability. It is very likely that we won't be able to sell this product ever again below $85.

Of course there may be newer models coming out that offer better value for money. But as far as A2053 goes, we are already offering it as competitively as we can. We cannot sell grey imports for regulated products and the wholesale price has almost doubled since last year.

  • I don't understand how $22 for a USB C to USB 2.0 cable is a good deal.

    • It's a USB-C to USB-C charging cable (that's why it's USB 2.0) supporting up to 61W (and maybe higher, but not tested ourselves)! There are not many cables in the market that can support the full PD spec.

      • Haven't heard of USB-C being any less than 3.1 spec. But yeah sounds good, just not for me I guess.

        • +1

There's an advantage of USB-C 2.0 for charging: the USB 3.1 spec has very thick data cabling over 1m, so USB-C 2.0 allows more current to pass through even with a thinner and longer cable.

In fact, it's not feasible to produce a durable USB-C 3.1 cable over 1m. But USB-C 2.0 cables can handle 2m easily.

  • Are any of these power banks good for charging and playing a Nintendo Switch at the same time? Have heard good things about Anker, but not sure if the cheaper ones are suitable
