I don't know if these are the same but I bought a big pack of Philips batteries off COTD a while back and they are terrible, probably the worst batteries I have ever bought - they only lasted a month in my Logitech remote. The Varta ones from Bunnings are heaps better for a similar price

  The best before date on the COTD ones was probably expired. Bought some from HN on the weekend for my camera and they're still fine after using it all night at a party.
