1TB HDD vs No HDD (But can be added)Just decide whether you want powerful processor or graphics card.
Wether you want extra RAM and HDD (Both of which can added to this model at extra cost) or USB C port
Good write up, could help someone make the right decision.
I'd pick the one with the 1060 since gaming is more important to me, and all HQ CPUs are pretty darn fast mobile CPUs.
1060 for sure
My understanding is GPU over CPU, if you have to compromise.
Ryzen 2700u is coming out soon and at 15w can give this a good thumping.
Based on watching the following video, it appears that the i5 CPU will be your bottleneck..
Seeing as the previous model with the 1050ti but similar specs could be had for around $1100-$1200, I find it hard to think that an upgrade from a 1050ti to a 1060 is worth $500-600.
$500 is a huge price difference between those two GPUs.
This deal is 15% off while the other was 20% off, still a big gap though.
Could have sworn these were $999 on release day
The new i5 8250u is pretty much on par with this CPU, but with less power consumption.
Just a note - these laptop have a 1060 max q . So they are clock lower to save power and heat . You would get better gaming on normal Alienware 1060 then this laptop

The other option is this one www.ozbargain.com.au/node/338051 with the 1050ti. Decisions….
