  • Anyone know why there have been no updates to the range, these are over a year old now.

    Where is 4k at 60fps

    • +3

Most dash cams in general haven’t received major updates.

Also, most phones don’t even do 4K at 60fps. If they made a dashcam with it, the price would go up significantly due to the processor required, and it would probably be power hungry (so no feasible parking mode features etc)

      Where is 4k at 60fps

why do you need 4k @ 60fps on a dashcam?

      1080p @ 60fps @ 20000kbps will fill a 64gb microsd in ~6hr25min. a 64gb microsd recording at 4k @ 60fps @ 85000 kbps is about ~1hr40min. you then have to find a microsd that will take the constant rewriting.

      • Heat problem can not be solved for 4K dashcam.

        • We're currently testing one a119s in the front with a xiaomi 20k power bank. There have been few days here in Sydney where the temperature hit 35 to 38 Celsius. The pb is hidden from view and seems to handle the temperature ok.

        • @whooah1979:
A119S is one 2K resolution camera, but not one 4K camera!

  • Is this v1 or v2?

    • v2: No battery, use capacitor

    • V2 version.

      • Can you update the listing title with V2 please?

  • +3

Guess it should be mentioned, these don't include the GPS module.

  • Excellent product, used for a year with zero problem.

However, recently I constantly get the 'storage error' message on the screen.

    Any solutions, plz?

Sounds like your SD card is worn out. You should use high endurance cards, or other cards known to work well with dash cams.

      • Thanks for your reply.

I bought a Transcend one with my A119 and worked smoothly until recent and soon after that I used SD card reader to have a test and it can still copy and write with no problem.

Is it possible the card is still OK for normal storage use while no longer suitable for recording purpose?

        Thx.

        • Was the test file as big as your entire card? Your test might not have hit the worn out part(s) of the card.

Check to see if your card has any locked files on it. I had a similar problem with mine is that every bump I hit was saving a file and locking it thinking I was in an accident. After a while the locked files filled the card and could not be overridden. When the camera went to write a new file, there was no room so it just threw up errors. I deleted the locked files, reformatted the card and set the crash sensitivity a lot lower.

This may not cure your ills, but it’s worth a try…

      • Since I don't have any important files to keep, after the problem I've formatted my card both on PC and in the camera several times, hoping to see some improvement but none noticed.

        Thx anyway.

  • OP ordered one. Wondering if you sell the GPS module and the CPL filter for it too?

    • Thanks. Not at this moment, will have it later.

Looking to get a dashcam after seeing this

    http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/real-life/news-life/man-hit…

  • will this one survive the heat in WA for road trip during summer?

    • u better get the capacitor one

      • 2nd that. oz summer is too harsh for any battery powered dashcams.
My Mini0806 popped last summer during my roadtrip from Sydney to Adelaide.

    • This is a capacitor model so worth a shot.

  • Thanks OP. Bought 2x.

Car recently got scraped by a passing truck and my home CCTV didn't catch the rego. Only the truck body number and company logo. Luckily, my neighbour's cctv got the rego plate,

You will need the parking mode kit to be able to run this in a parked vehicle.

      • That's the plan.

        • you can also use power banks. a 20000mah may run two units in driving mode for days or more, and possibly a week in parking mode.

        • I don't like the idea of leaving a battery in the car during summer.

  • Anyone who bought one can confirm that this is the updated V2?

  • +3

Received my unit today. Can confirm it is V2, because I ordered a GPS logger separately and it fits and works perfectly in this unit. The firmware was a bit out of date, so went onto viofo website and uploaded the latest firmware. All good now.

We are quick to bag sellers, I can say that this seller has answered all my queries via PM before I bought this unit and the delivery was quick too.

    • No positive though?

  • Ok, bit the bullet. Have been having some issues with the G1WH's so will give these go.
