Keys2Drive - Free Driving Lessons for Learners

130

This is for those still on their Learner license. Extract from their website:

keys2drive is providing a free Lesson to learner drivers, which brings the learner driver and the supervising driver (usually mum or dad) together with a keys2drive accredited professional driving instructor.

Funded by the Australian Federal Government, the free lesson introduces the keys2drive coaching approach ('Find Your Own Way'), with examples of how the parent/supervisor and learner driver can use this approach when learning to drive.

The website contains a form which you can register to book your lessons.

Not too sure about the expiry date, but consider it's government funded so limited time only :)

  • Free lessons only for QLD & SA

    • Hmmm. I didn't spot that. On the sign up form you seem to be able to select all states.

    • No, it accepts NSW too

  • +1

Why should the parent/supervisor be there?
Because supervisors are learning too. The free lesson gives them realistic confidence to help the learner driver safely take control of their own learning. If you're a parent/supervisor, you can encourage your learner driver to apply themselves or register for the free lesson on their behalf.

    Safety first people.

  • Is this a one-off lesson thing?

  • Thanks, just registered. VIC

  • One question: Whose car is it in?
When you register you have to enter a car number plate. One would assume that meant it was in your car, in which case this is useless for someone like me who has learned in a auto but wants to get some experience to get a manual license.

    • Lesson is with a professional driving instructor … so why not use their car!

  • is it an actual driving lesson or driving information session???

  • Bit of a late reply but I thought I'd share my 2 cents. It is an actual driving lesson.. they do come in their own car buttttt they talk to you and your parent/supervisor about road safety and all for most of the lesson. I did however drive for around 15 mins. Worth it as it's no hassle registering and scheduling an appointment.
