Original 20% off Selected Sellers on eBay Deal Post

EDIT: I emailed Bose about the limited warranty due to PC Byte not being an authorised dealer on the Bose website. The reply I received was:

Thank you for your email.
Bose are happy to assist you with any warranty issues as long as your product is a genuine Bose item.
Unfortunately, as the reseller you have purchased your headset from is not an authorised reseller we cannot guarantee that your headset is a genuine product.

Edit: Marked expired as seller has increased price to $479. So new total is $383.20 delivered.

  • Damn just paid $386.60 last night via Videopro eBay including $6.60 shipping. Oh well…

    • +4

      Sorry to hear

    • +8

At least you didn't pay $450 like that person last month on that pre-order.

      • Or the $700-$900 these go for in Asia

        • $700-$900??!! Well they really have to sell a kidney to buy one of these.

    • +6

I dont need 300+$ headphones, but ill be damned - all this pressure of buying them for being part of the club

      • +3

yeah, if they moved that decimal point to the left.

I'm waiting for Xiaomi to bring out a pair

        • +2

Considering Xiaomi sells pretty much everything, im genuinely surprised they don't have something similar

      • But if you bought them you wouldn't hear any of the pressure any more :)

  • +4

I feel sorry to the person who paid $450 for this on pre-order just a month ago thinking he was getting a good deal. Never pay for these on pre-order or at release date or just get self ripped off. I told him he should have waited as a better deal would come up. Got himself ripped off. A month later and now you can buy it on sales for well under $400. He's probably feeling a bit silly right now for paying that much.

    • Best use-case for these is on airplanes. If you have a trip planned, you pay extra for urgency.

I just ordered something this morning from Officeworks, not because they're cheap but because they have same day delivery.

That said, pre-order is for suckers. The last thing I pre-ordered was for my kid - "South Park : Fractured But Whole" video game for Christmas 2016. Actual release date was this week.

  • Nice find OP :)

    something off the topic

I Couldn't find B&W PX headphones anywhere.. i was looking to get 1 with this 20% sale :(
anyone have seen this headphone anywhere cheaper?

  • Do they provide proper invoice ?

    • I received an electronic invoice about 5 mins after ordering with tax details etc.

      • The electronic invoice i received didnt have the ABN on it. Could you check yours again?

        • +1

PC Byte are a proper Australian company that pay tax aren't they? I want to claim back 10% when I go overseas.

        • @Macgyver:

Pc byte is a proper Aussie company. But one of the requirement for the TRS is that the ABN must be clearly shown on the invoice. It not a biggie. Just find its ABN and put it on the same piece of paper before printing

        • I had this same issue but I only discovered this when I was AT the TRS counter (I know silly me) at the airport with a graphics card from PCByte.

Luckily, one of their emails had their ABN and the officer accepted this.

  • Thanks OP!

What's the advancement from version 1?

    • +1

      Comment from the previous deal;

      two main differences:
      1) google assistant (meh)
      2) noise cancelling adjustment button to cycle between high, low or off while in wireless mode

      • -1

        meh..

        • Yeh I think the consensus is if you already own the original QC35, it isn't really worth upgrading as it is essentially the same headphones.
Unless you're one of those who wants the newest of everything. :)

        • @Shads:
By the way, 2nd option (noise cancelling cycle high/low/off) is possible with the original QC 35 (Series 1) once the firmware is updated on the phones (I've done it from the official Bose Android app).

    • Think its only the additional button for Google assistant and some extra ANC settings in the app from what I can tell.

      • The older qc35 also get anc adjustment in app if updated

      • The ANC changes are that if you choose, you can use the Google Assistant button to toggle ANC settings but you'll lose the ability to use that button to bring up the assitant. The settings themselves can be set on older models but this one allows them to be set using a button.

      Extra 70 grams in weight

  • How are these compared to the JBL Everest 300 and 700?

    • Bose are generally reviewed to have the best Noise Cancelling in the business. The new sony's are the only ones I've seen compete. If you travel a lot, and want noise cancelling, get these. Never used the JBL's but also have never seen then mentioned as competition in reviews of the Bose or Sony.

Or if you don't need wireless, get the older QC25's. With the PLUG20 deal you can get them for around 270 from videopro.

      • So the QC25's are the same as the qc35 but wired?

I'm looking to upgrade as the Corwin headsset I have are good, but the noise cancelling isn't great (working in a crowded office I NEED it)

        • +1

I couldn't tell much of a difference in the noise cancelling between the two, but noise cancelling is designed to cancel out a static noise. Like airplane engines. I've never tried them on varying noises like in an office. Have you considered an isolating IEM like the Sennheiser SE-215? If you use the foam tips, it's like wearing an earplug.

        • @shamowfski: Awesome, thanks for the recommendation

    • Bose QC35 are a lot better than JBL everest series. And there are like Sennheiser HD 4.4/4.5 BT thats beat the bose at 3/4 the price

Do I have to talk about the subjectivity of perception again….

        • +2

          Yes please.

        • +7

@Shads: reality is a social construct, with all markers, including mathematics, merely being tools to explain in an epistemologicaly circular trap their own supremacy. We are constrained and yet enabled by our concepts of perveption; only when we challenge their limits and push against their boundaries do w le see (or not see in this case, or not hear in the case of the Bose 35) how truly flexible those limitations are. We dream of revolution but instead we must aim fur transformation as revolution, or Dony/Senheisser, offers only another boundary within which we are confined. Finally, if a tree wearing Bose 35s falls in a forest, can it really make a sound?

        • +2

@TheRealCher: Mind blown… makes explosion noise

        • +1

          @TheRealCher: meh..

        • +1

@TheRealCher: my typing is really bad. Remember to proofread before blowing minds.

      • +2

        Certainly something to reflect on.

  • Can you connect these to multiple sources at once and do they have a 3.5mm attachable cable for devices that lack Bluetooth?

Edit: just googled it and yes you can connect a 3.5mm cable to them. Not sure about playback of Bluetooth/3.5mm simultaneously though or if you can connect to multiple Bluetooth sources at once.

Ideally I want to use them to talk to my girlfriend on the phone but listen to my PC/Xbox at the same time through the headphones.

    • +8

Is your girlfriend aware of this? 🤔

    • +5

The noise cancelling won't work with her voice, so yes you will still hear her voice, sorry mate.

    • Put her on loud speaker, and hook these up to your pc/xbox.
She won't hear the pc/xbox this way.

    • +1

You could always pause your video games and actually communicate with your "girlfriend"….

    • The sound quality is awful when using the microphone for both the microphone and the speakers.

You can't access the microphone via the 3.5mm cable

If you don't care much about bluetooth and want to use them for communicating and hearing the QC25 is better.

Note you can't use bluetooth if the device is charging (not a major issue)

      As for your other questions.

Once you plug in the 3.5mm cable the bluetooth is deactivated.

The headphone can remember 10 devices and connect to two simultaneously allowing for fast swap
I don't believe it can play from both devices at the same time it basically determines which device is actually playing sound and picks one, if one stops it switches to the other (assuming it's playing sound).
So yeah I'm not sure if you can have sound playing from your game and use it on the phone at the same time, i'll have to test and get back to you.

The quality may be ok for phone calls but I've yet to confirm if it sounds as bad as it does in online voice chat.

There is one headphone that can maintain high quality sound whilst using the microphone by using two bluetooth chips, i think it's the turtle beach XP510.

  • +1

    Are these real? :p

  • -1

noooo I just paid $386 last night for the ones in the other deal before I went to bed :(

    • Haha least it is only $11… :)

  • does anyone have an idea why I can't use the code? I followed the link, selected paypal, entered "PLUG20" and receive : "This code can't be applied to your order."
    Anyone an idea?

    • Have you used 3 times already?

      • nope, not even once.

        • That's a bit strange!
Maybe try in a different browser?

    • What's in your cart? This only works for items from stores included in the promo.

I believe it will apply the code across all items in your cart, so if you have something in the cart from an excluded seller, the code won't work.

    • the problem was related to my account… maybe because it was non-australian. I just signed up again and now it works.

  • Cannot see PC Byte on Bose's 'Find a Store' page. Buyer beware.

    • Can always call Bose to confirm the serial number once received if there are any doubts.
Also I've read that if they are counterfeit the app doesn't connect to the headphones.

So if they happen to be fake, I'm sure we'll be able to get money back.

      • It may be genuine but if you buy from a non authorised seller Bose is within their right to refuse warranty services.

        • Ah ok, didn't know that. I'm curious if anyone has had any warranty issues for purchases made from non-authorised dealer.

        • +1

Manufacturer warranty maybe, but not your statutory warranty under the Australian Consumer Law.

  • This could be a silly question but how do these cans hold up during workouts?

    • What exactly do you mean by workouts?

      • Like gym workouts - lifting weights to running on the treadmill.

        • May be those who own a pair can confirm with you, but I don't see those exercise as a problem. If you are training for Ninja Warriors course then may be they won't stay on your head :)

  • Bought one thanks OP. Finally im part of the club?

    • +1

Depends. Do you plan to recharge them using eneloops?

      • +2

Nope but probably using my 10 xiaomi powerbanks that I have.

        • +2

          You'll fit right in….

  • thanks OP got one!

  • Ok so only $11.40 less than I paid with videopro. Nasty taste left in my mouth is the deliberate pricejacking of the product by videopro at the precise moment the 20% deal goes live. We need to continue to name and shame these serial offenders.

    • It's either they price jack or take the listing down.

This is a very popular item so I would assume the profit margin on them is small, especially when most retail shops are selling for $500. While I don't know their wholesale price, I would say they would be making a loss selling them at $344 (20% off $430).

It makes no business sense for them to do that.

      • I don't understand. They (retailer) aren't impacted by the 20% discount. eBay is wearing that?

        • Ebay don't wear this discount, only the site wide ones they completely wear, these ones would probably be 75%seller worn at a wild guess

        • +1

From word of mouth from comouter alliance ebay takes a 13% hit and the dealer 7%

    • I reported to eBay and they were defending the seller saying “it’s still cheaper with the 20% code than the 5% code”

  • TheRealCher said "We are constrained and yet enabled by our concepts of perveption"…hmmm perveption,is that like looking at hot chicks?

    • You say hot chicks, I think hot chips…. But not cofefve….

  • I have called this store and they have told me they are not an authorized dealer at all. I'd imagine Bose wont give warranty to a product with an invoice from a store that isn't a Bose dealer. Not worth saving $11 for.

    • Their ebay page says that all products they sell comes with a 12 month manufacturer warranty. I emailed them specifically to ask about warranty process. Guess we will find out soon.

      • I would really like to know too, can you please tell us when you find out. Thanks!

        • +2

I got an email from Bose, said they will honor the warranty even if it's from a non authorised dealer as long as the headphones are not fake.
Edit: I've added the reply from Bose to the post in case anyone is interested.

        • @Shads:
that's good news (I ordered a black one) - their eBay listings say they've sold over 203 black and 32 silver units on this one sale already (as at 12:50 today)… that's an awful lot of units to be putting out if they are fake…

        • @memnemon: Yeh hoping mine will be dispatched today. They have been around a few years and have a store in Sydney so I don't have any doubts they will be fake.

        • I got confirmation from pcbyte that there is local warranty for these sets.

        • @Shads:
The units are definitely not fakes as they mentioned they were buying them from a local authorized dealer. After speaking to a Bose store they assured me that Bose will not warrant any products not sold from an authorized dealer, the PC Bytes invoice will not be valid.

        • @1zaz1: Cheers, we'll have to see what happens if something goes wrong with the unit in the next 12 months, funny that Bose customer service said they would honour the warranty and not in store.

        • @Shads:

You got their reply in writing. I wouldnt be too concerned at this stage if anything happens.

        • @Shads: lol you guys soo concerned about warranty im still rocking the original qc15s never had a problem

  • so i bought the q25's, they're freakin shite, never spent more than $200 on headphones until them, very disappointed

    • They're fine with NC enabled.

      • ok fair enough just using them normally

    • Which headphones are you comparing with?

      • -2

        my $30 philips pones

        • I see, judging by the price difference I am guessing you are expecting the Q25 to sound 7 times better than your $30 Philips, but it isn't so you are disappointed.
