Bose QC35 II $450 Pre-order ($499 RRP) @ Life Style Store

240

I was looking to buy the Bose QuietComfort 35 when I was told that the Bose QuietComfort 35 Wireless Headphones II were coming out and would retail for $499. The store had a special pre-order price of $450. The headphones now have Google Assistant built in with the press of a button to control music, send text messages and more.

The deal is in-store only and is not listed on their website.

Looks like a layby, not pre-order.

    • It comes out in 2-3 weeks from what they said so they asked for a deposit.

    I can't find anything about QC35 II?

    • Check the comment below :)

Anywhere we can find info on the 2nd gen QC35? I'm not seeing anything about it anywhere.

    • Yeah no information has been released yet that's the crazy part. I was actually in contact with 9to5 for them to do a review on these. What I saw on the sheet that the sales person printed out was; Black/Silver colour, Bluetooth/NFC, Google Assist for messaging, control music and more, Noise cancellation control, 20 hour battery and some other minor details.

Looks like you've got some info even the audiophiles haven't got their hands on yet, there's a pic for you though of what they look like in the link below with an extra button on the left ear apparently for Google assist.

        • Yeah it was weird when I got home and tried to find some information on them and nothing came up. The second page of the print out from the sales rep had the exact same image as the one in that Verge article.

wow u ar a true Bose fan!
don't know anything about QC35 II but u put ur money down already.

    • +1

Haha! This will be my first set of Bose headphones, when I tried the QC35 first gen in-store I fell in love! The new revision isn't that much more in price so I just went with it.

      • Call me old fashioned but a 25% price increase for some simple QoL changes is a fair bit of a price increase

        • I wouldn't disagree, the price is heavy but I'm not one to buy headphones too often. I believe the current price of the available QC35 is the same as the new revision based on checking Myer and JB HI FI.

          @SargeR:

I've already got 5 headphones and another on the way soon!.

p.s. I've seen the Bose QC35 going for around $350 with eBay discount coupons and this is Australian stock. Example the recent Myer on eBay $359.28 delivered deal. $450 for this a very small change is way too expensive compared to what you've recently been able to get the Bose QC35 for recently. So my friend in my opinion you paid about $100 too much compared to what you could have been getting an original QC35 for. And who needs an extra button all for just $100 more?.

You should have just waited as another deal for the original Bose QC35 for around $350 is likely just around the corner. Probably even less.

        • That's a lot of headphones! What new pair did you get? I missed out on the QC35 deal by a day, that was annoying. I decided that Google Assistant might be alright for me as I use my headphones a lot.

        • @SargeR:

Me. I've currently just got 2 x Marley Destiny TTR Black over-ear, 1 x Sony MDR-1A over-ear, 1 x Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro over-ear and 1 x JBL Everest Elite 300 on-ear BTNC headphones. I will be getting a Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC over-ear soon too thanks to the Courier Mail 12 month digital subscription headphone giveaway. Such is my headphone collection.

I haven't got a Bose QC35 yet but thinking about it. I haven't owned a Bose headphone. Want it to go below $300 hopefully which is likely because the retailers will be putting the original QC35 on clearance soon to make floor and warehouse space room for the QC35 II. But do you think i've got enough quality headphones already?.

But do you think i've got enough quality headphones already?

No, you can't stop until your wallet is empty.

        • @ChillBro: or no kidneys.

Those Sony headphones seems pretty good man, that's a hard call.

      • Aren't those Sony cans known for band cracking?

        • +1

They sure are. So only time will tell if the mark 2 or version 2 of it will suffer the same fate.

        • No.

          New model.

You would feel so weird using Google assistant with nc headphones…

    • Because?…

      • +7

Obviously because you cant hear yourself

        • That's pretty true actually. Maybe they have a live monitor feedback feature or something to make it feel less weird.

        • Aren't they supposed to have sidetone though?

        • But doesnt it provide feedback.

Like say. You instruct google assistance to say create a calendar entry for an appointment.

Or you want google assistant to start reading your text message or email.

          Direct you somewhere.

        • You can actually hear yourself because they have a feature which turns off NC during things like phone calls etc for a better experience.

Bose’s email marketing team might have accidentally revealed an upcoming product ahead of schedule.

      Riiiight….. "Accidentally" like a fox.

    • Can't help the marketing folks Bose about these things can we?

  • Send text msgs???

How on earth do you do that with a pair of headphones!

    • +1

The headphones don't, the microphone and google assistant do (similarly to the way echo, cortana, and Siri can).

  • If that really is the upgraded model, it's a bit disappointing. I was hoping at least that they'll make a few more buttons or have swipe controls but keeping that one button does all is a downer.

  • Looks like they have them up on the USA page

    https://www.bose.com/en_us/products/headphones/over_ear_head…

    • Those are a different model

      • Oh you're right, my mistake. Waiting to see the specs confirmed for Bluetooth 5.0.

  • Thoughts on how these would these stack up for a predominantly Apple user (not myself)?

    Bluetooth 5.0
    ANC
    Apple W1 Chip
    Siri

    • hoo boy.

  • The rumours are that Google has done a deal with Bose so they might come with the next pixel 2 phones. As they apparently have killed the headphone jack on the upcoming Pixel 2's

    • Well, it's their grave.

  • Good info. Bad deal.

  • $450 for this QC35 II such a small change when the original QC35 has been going for around $350 delivered. Bad deal, sorry OP. I think i shall just wait for a QC35 deal. I reckon it will probably hit around $300 soon when they are wanting to quickly sell off stock to make way for the QC35 II. Now that's the time to buy a pair of headphones when they are going on clearance.

  • -1

Hey OP. You could have bought a Bose QC35 II today and Australian stock for $399.20 from Videopro. Sorry but you paid $50 too much. See, never pre-order a headphone you'd just get ripped off because a better deal always comes along.
