    Wait. They were charging $88 for a pre-owned game?

    • it's EB, of course they were.

  • +3

    As per usual they've clearly upped the base prices on these for this sale.
    Destiny 2 used for $88?
    Titanfall 2 is $34 brand new @ JB HiFi, but it's $48 used @ EB.
    Ridiculous.

      I don't think your neg is fair. Different competitors have different prices, all throughout the year. Have you ever been to a JB Hi-Fi store and seen their 'Pre-owned' prices? They're on-par with EB Games on an average day.

      Not to mention you're comparing two different products (one is New, one is Pre-Owned).

      It's actually $42.00 at EB Games at the moment, so if you have another game in the same price range, you're getting two games pre-owned for $21 each - which is pretty decent (far from the best price that Titanfall new has been, I bought it at $20).

      JB-HiFi probably sells Titanfall 2 Pre-owned for about $30, their pre-owned prices are usually only a few dollars cheaper than new.

        But they're selling a used copy of Destiny 2 for $88.

        • -1

          … then don't buy it?

          You realize that you could buy this copy of Destiny 2 for $88, receive another copy free and end up paying $44/ea for a newly released game? If you and a friend wanted to pick up Destiny 2, that's an absolutely great deal for the game.

        • @Kugz: I think you're missing Ben's point.

          The game is only worth 44 (which is debatable in itself), and it's bullshit that they jack the price up all of a sudden to 88, which it sure as shit wasn't a few days ago, when the BOGOF comes around anyway.

          @TheDukeOfNukem: We all know how EB works, they sell all their games at retail prices. No one buys games from EB @ full price, you wait for deals like this to come along.

          $44 for Destiny 2 is a great price and I'd love for someone to point out where they can get a second-hand copy for less than that. I had a look at Gumtree and most 'used' copies are selling for around $55-$60, with one listing @ $45. This is still cheaper.

          How much it is 'normally' doesn't matter and isn't a valid reason to negatively vote this deal.

          Their prices fluctuate all the time depending on demand and during their ever-lasting 'sales' they have. They've got every right to shift the price of pre-owned copies of games, just as you have the right to call it bullshit and not pay that much for it.

          … but that doesn't matter in the slightest for this deal, because it's not $88 - it's potentially $44 (if you buy 2 $88 games).

          Vote on the deal, not on your gripes with how a store sells/prices their products.

        • @TheDukeOfNukem:
          Hey man. Not actually true, the prices weren’t jacked up prior to this. Destiny 2 preowned has always been 88

        • -1

          @FFalex: it's PREOWNED though. That's the point.

        • @Vlaka:
          I was simply addressing this part “it's bullshit that they jack the price up all of a sudden to 88, which it sure as shit wasn't a few days ago, when the BOGOF comes around anyway.”

        This is OzBARGAIN not OzAdvertise or OzGiveARetailerABreak. If the prices aren't genuinely bargain prices, they don't belong here.

        • The deal is 'Buy 1, get 1 free' and for most of these titles included, it's a pretty darn good deal.

        • +1

          @Kugz:

          If they were brand new? Yes.

          But not preowned.

        • @Ahbal: I've had a look on Gumtree and eBay and $44 is still the lowest for a used copy of Destiny 2 in Australia. Apart from some pre-order DLC you may have gotten, there's no difference between a used and new copy of this game.

          You can pick it up from a store, return it if you have any problems - trade it in, sell it online just as you can a new copy of the game.

          If you prefer a new, shrink-wrapped copy of the game then pay for new store prices. People who don't care about that will appreciate this deal.
