  • How about panasonic's 25mm f/1.7? it's cheaper and slightly faster too.

    • but this one look a lot more sexy and small

    • Got one of those for $99 and sold my Olympus 25mm 1.8.

Build quality Samsung is better as the Panasonic is plasticky
Image quality is generally about the same.
1.7 vs 1.8 is no difference

      • Samsung?????

        • Oops - brain fart. Meant Olympus

Another alternative Pana Leica 25mm 1.4 beautiful build.

        • @cheapo999:

Yep lovely lens. Unfortunately quite a bit expensive for the extra aperture.
Not gonna lie I'd love a Panasonic Leica DG Nocticron 42.5mm f/1.2 lol, but I have the 75mm 1.8 for my portrait work - that thing is a beast.

        • The 25mm f1.4 has some issues though. Noisy aperture blades, focus not as fast as newer lenses, chromatic aberration, pretty soft at max aperture. Still, it has been the Micro 4/3 lens that I have used more than any other in the six years that I've had it

      • Where did yiu get that for $99?

  • +1

Not a good deal. This is the usual price for this lens, delivered new from Asian stores on eBay, with 1 year warranty. They may be gray imports, but the stores have a good rep, so what's the difference. I got mine new for about $270 in the recent 18% off ebay sale, by getting the discount off one of those stores.

    • Yea , but we all missed out on the 18% ;( and the max disc for eBay store wide seems to be around 10% only

For me itโ€™s a good deal because I can claim TRS

  • If I have a 12-40mm f2.8 pro already, does this offer any value add (aside from being lighter)?
