you have downloaded the wrong mihome application try downloading app with no space between words mihome else compare the app icon with the one on google
When you first open the app make sure you chose "Mainland China" or it won't work .
To clarify, do not worry if you haven't done this, you can do it at any time (usually done at the connection window as it will not pass 90% without this setting).
For the other issue, salrock's comment above is correct. You want the "MiHome" app, with a green shield as the icon.

When it asks you to select device there are two xiaofangs to chose from, the first one is for Remote mode and the second option the one with brackets in the description is for AP mode.

Been using my one under the front veranda for a couple of months now. Have not had any issues. It is out of the weather though.

100% NOT waterproof so needs to be somewhere where it won't ever get wet. Direct sunlight will probably kill it in summer too.
Motion tracking is bad outside with night vision and flying bugs at night time and bad during day time with wind making stuff move around.
Also very easy to steal, and then you lose the footage on the micro SD card.

I wanted ptz cause you get 4x zoom and rotatable ofc. Otherwise woulda def got the 4k 2385 series turret for roughly same price, may add 1 or 2 later tho :)
Just did a test run offline just using NVR and 1 cam and all working well, learning the menus and functions etc now.

With the new version they reduced the price by removing the anaesthetic… Cheap colonoscopy without sedation, ozbargain style.
The old uses a pin (similar to the SIM removal tool) to push into the reset hole. With the new, there is a built-in plastic lever which you depress to reset the device.

I've got my XiaoFang from last GearBest deal and has anyone had an issue with connecting to XiaoFang running f/w 3.0.4.20 on iOS App? I can successfully connect but it stops streaming after 0.1 seconds and it pretty much stops working.

@nocure: yeah tried that already 3~4 times and I was able to find the video stream recording on the micro SD but the Xioami App is not allowing it to be streamed for more than 0.1 seconds. I’ve read from forum that the f/w 3.04.20 does not work outside of mainland and I was wondering if there was any other way to resolve as I’m not able to succrfully downgrade the firmware as welll…

If anyone has issue with the camera on the latest firmware,you can still get it running in AP mode as per link below and the downside is that you won’t be able to view the recording over internet(cloud) as you will need to be directly connected to the Camera
