Thanks Tightarse, if you were here now I'd pinch your cheeks.

    • +5

      Which cheeks?

      • -1

        The bigger ones

  • Do they charge excess data or just stop data after 1.5G? It very easy to accidentally go over.

    • -2

I think they just stop then you get a robocall from Tightarse asking you for more money.

    • +2

Yes $10 and it takes 48 hours to update. Avoid.

      • +1

I'd rather have $10 for an extra GB than $300 for an extra GB

  • Is this a pre paid or a post paid product? Ie. Do you need to top up every 30 days after the initial 4 months is up?

    • +1

Are you locked in after 4 months? Also can you churn from Amaysim to Vaya as a "new customer"?

      • I have same question. Does anyone have an answer?
I read Terms and Conditions posted by idontalwaysnotlie does not answer it.
        Anyone has solved this???

      • +3

        its unlocked says description.

just had a chat with vaya support amaysim customers will be considered new by vaya. i have transcript of the chat if anyone ever need it

    • You are not lock in but if you forgot to port out or cancel after 4 months they will start charging your credit card for the full amount of the plan value.

  • +1

$16/month after the four months (or $14/month if you pay in 6 month batches). Excess data is billed @$10/GB with kb increments.
    Read the full details here

    • +4

No it's 1 gb increments so even if you go slightly over it's $10. Avoid.

  • Wish Amaysim can beat this by 10%

  • +10

    Vaya is crap.

  • -1

Is it possible to return the 3month voucher that I just bought yesterday and buy this one instead?

  • So vaya has no international calls but the amaysim deal includes unlimited international call.

  • +3

Vaya also has no customer service…. Ex vaya customer of 2+ years.

  • i'm with Vaya for 3 years. Works fine for me (Perth).
Customer service isnt that great, but ive seen worse.

  • -1

I know this is cheap but in this day and age I don't see anyone keeping to 1.5GB a month.

  • +2

thanks but no thanks Vaya …

  • Vaya is now ok. I was with them for 3+ years had no problems. They now have online chat as well very convenient just like Amaysim. I believe they now owned by Amaysim. They refunded me the $20 security deposit they took many years ago when I port out to Amaysim.

  • +1

Anyone know if there's a time limit between redeeming the coupon and actually activating the service?

    • +4

just had a chat with vaya support no time limit on when you have to activate the sim. i have transcript of the chat if anyone ever need it

      • Cheers!

      • Hmm need to be bit careful, when I asked, I was told 90 days for number transfers, 7 days auto activation for new numbers

    • As I understand it, the sim will be automatically activated after 10 days if not done so beforehand.

  • I just join vaya with the 3gb for 3 months plan, so far so bad.

It activation process was painful, phone support was pretty much unintelligible.

Live chat seem pretty helpful until you realise they don't have a clue what they are doing either and are probably just using google translate.

I was trying to port from telstra (i already take the precaution to port from Ovo to telstra first to minimise porting time) to Vaya and in the end it took a whole week to port.

I would stay away from this mob like a plague after this. Just go with Kogan or something.

  • Do you pay the $10 up front for the 4 months, and can cancel/port out after it?

  • +2

I'm chiming in to give Vaya a bit of support - I realise they have a cruddy reputation but I believe that is based on their early days - they have really had a massive turnaround in the last year or two probably under the stewardship of Amaysim. The plans are competitive, online chat extremely prompt and useful. The excess charges are bearable as it's just a standard $10 per GB if you go over. On this deal, once the 4 months is up, jump up to a larger plan. Bottom line is I reckon Vaya are running just fine these days.

Good deal for my grandma. Too bad she doesnt know how to use a mobile phone. Insists on paying Telstra $40/month for a landline.. go figure.

  • This or amaysim deal? :/

  • I'm so confused as to what I bought- I paid $15 and it says a 3GB service?

  • The last time I bought of these similar Vaya deals (the 3 months deal), I activated right away and it was 26th of the month or something, used it for a few days until the 1st of the next month rolled in, then it said that I was onto my second month already, and that I had one month left on my 3 months voucher. Been trying to contact customer service, but haven't been able to get through to a real person. I just wanna know whether the plan starts on date of activation or 1st of the month. Can anyone verify this? Cheers.

    • vaya bills on the 1st of every month.

      • Wait, so my 3 month deal is really 2 months and 5 days?

        • yes if you do nothing now.

try getting in touch with the support team via chat. they are very helpful and will be able to fix this for you.

        • @PissLUR: What do you mean they will be able to fix it? Do you know what the solution is?

Apparently, this is not a problem that require a solution according to Vaya, they will just refund the 25 days of the first month in a pro-rata rate as credit to be use in the future.

        • I told you Vaya is crap, not worth dealing with them.

        • Woah. If that's the case then goodbye Vaya!

  • What exactly is the "Groupon Voucher code" that has to be entered when you sign up with vaya please??Thanks.

    • It's your own personal code from the Groupon voucher that you need to buy to access the deal.

Firstly , if you don't already have an account.. You need to sign up to Groupon (create an account), buy the voucher online and use the code when following Groupon's directions to buying the Vaya simcard plan.

Follow the link that Tightarse has provided top right of the page

  • Got one. Thanks.
Needed to use online chat when registering with Vaya, as choices were month by month (and only showed up as 1 month credit when chosen) or 6 months (the deal is for 4 months).

It took a LOT of online chatting to get answers (I had to ask the same questions several times before getting clear answers.
Basically, I was advised to choose month by month.
When I asked about activating mid-month and the possibility of losing half a month due to their billing cycle, I was advised :

    Me:
As I mentioned, I've prepaid. So, do I get a full month's credit if I activate for example,, on the 12th of the month, or do I get only 18 days left in that month, Before my next month begins

    Sammy:
Yes, it's still gonna be a full month credit

    So, I guess I'll see what happens…….

    • +1

You need to be more specific when asking that question.

Here is my transcript, the answer is so sad too bad:

      • Thank you for that. Much appreciated!
I suspected as much… I didn't have a lot of confidence in their sideways responses.

I've emailed them to disconnect my direct debit service setup so there's no double dipping (have been getting a lot of that lately and it takes a lot of effort to get it undone). They have responded positively to my request, but I've got a feeling they've disconnected the service altogether, so I'll be back and forthing by email now 😏. (simcard hasn't arrived yet…). I love tech but it takes a lot of effort to get through the red tape..

It reminds me of when Virginmobile started getting busy, outsourcing their customer service etc… They became too difficult to deal with.

        • The sim card took 4 business day to arrive for me( was a whole week wait for me since i order it on the 27th of September and only receive it on the 4th of October, took them another 4 days for until they finally port me on Sunday night of the 8th of October.

Lucky for me, the NFC of my card broke so i order a new one, they won't be getting another cent from me.

        • @highdealer:
          Hmmm, the crazy-go-round is happening.
Good luck with it. Thanks for the heads up about 4days arrival time.
