It's been 2 months since we've had a Xiaomi USB fan deal and I wanted one for summer so I messaged the rep for a deal on this product. It was US10c cheaper in August but this is the cheapest you can get one for currently.

There are only 100 units at this price. Remember to select unregistered mail to get this price and that PayPal has you covered for buyer protection.

EDIT 7/10 515pm: 500 MORE UNITS ADDED

do you just ask the rep for a code or something? do you get any affiliate money? like a couple of cents per sale?

        • @furythree:
Yep i just asked the rep for a code because I wanted one of these for use at work

I am not affiliated with them and I don't receive any money or payment from them.

          I only get:

  • I was fast but it still didnt work for me sigh.

Been waiting ages for this one too spits on the ground

  • nooo…i wanted this one…

  • What the…!?

  • Missed again :-(

  • Good price I bought many at around $3 from AliExpress. Beware of fake counterfeit non xiaomi make sure buy from reputable stores.

    • Product wise, for now anyway, Gearbest has been great. The stuff that I've bought, and friends have bought (operative word being "for now")- all legit.

Is AliExpress still a No Paypal Zone? If so, 'tis a shame.

      • Oh yea no worry about gear best but for aliexpress. Just send email ask if genuine or not, they are all least honest. They will say something like high quality bla bla similar like xiaomi bla bla

        • Chinese fakeys and counterfeits are so prevalent that even if they say YES ITS ORIGINAL, one wonders original WHAT exactly:) So I tend to be specific and say is it AUTHENTIC xyz, GENUINE abc etc. And even then I'm kinda prepared for it to be fake. So really, GB so far, has been pretty good.

          Thanks for the info though!

  • i wanted one too

  • When you don't limit one per an account they get Brodened

    • It is 1 per account.

      • Well there you go, just too popular a deal then!

  • Really powerful fan, love mine.

    • Guess you would say….you're a fan?

      • +5

        It blew me away

lets put this in perspective. it's a usb fan not a 10kw air conditioner. those saying it's perfect timing for the upcoming summer are in for a shock if they think a usb fan will be effective for anything.

  • have a feeling this might sit in a draw unused but it's a bargain :) thanks!

I posted this as a new deal but Neil doesn't like it because he thinks it's a 'duplicate'. So that post is deleted now. The point of making a new post was because I wanted to let you guys know it's 300 units, 1 per account and AUD$1.27 (and not $1.24 like it says on this deal).

    • Appreciate the post and have credited you (and highlighted this deal to the front page for a bit) but here are the duplicate guidelines. We can't pick and choose when we want to follow them as we try to be as consistent as possible.

      • +1

I'm wondering, was this deal still active when TLDR posted his? I thought this expired, no?

        • The deal with code the69thhokage5 was marked expired on October 7 at 7:48PM. I assume that code doesn't work anymore.

        • +1

@neil: So if this deal with the old code expired then TLDR's post wasn't a duplicate, was it, as per guidelines? Just curious and trying to understand the dupe guidelines, that's all.

        • @AussieDaddy:

It is a duplicate as per the guidelines.

          Exception would be

          • if it was older than one month (and expired) which it wasn't.
          • Active and older than 6 months which it wasn't.
          • 50+ etc. Nope.
          • List of items not contained in title… Nope.

These guidelines are created based on numerous feedback from users. One of the many duplicate threads and loads of other threads going back to 2009. Suffice to say, someone is not going to be happy and we're the bad guys. :(

EDIT: Feel free to give feedback in a new site discussion thread or one of the existing ones. The key guideline is 1 month and expired. This post was 11 days and expired so if we want to set the guideline to 11 days then make the argument. Keep in mind this affects all posts, so this could result in the same rep posts every 11 days (as an example).

        • +1

@neil: Hmm! Seems there's a misunderstanding between us. I get those guidelines and the exceptions, but you've said the69thhokage5's expired on October the 7th, so TLDR's post was legit and not a dupe. Members post deals all the time when their own recent deals expire and they post the same item with savings of few cents as new deals. If this was a deal that has been reactivated with the same code and the same price then that would be understandable, but that is not the case here. For example, Tightarse (who is one of my favorite deal posters around here) posts deals of the same items within few weeks apart as new deals, since there's some savings to be made in his latest deals (which is the example I was trying to draw between these two deals here).

Anyway, I'll leave this here. Cheers

        • +3

          @neil:

I understand you are just doing your job.

However, how is it a duplicate when this was a new deal I organised with Gearbest personally with a different AUD price, different code and different stock availability numbers? I included these new details in my post because I thought people would want to know. You've merged my post and the69thhokage's post together, despite the two being different?

I understand it's the same ITEM, but it is not a duplicate post and in the process you have omitted vital information which fellow OzBargainers would have found helpful before making a decision to purchase.

The link you have provided only tells us what ISN'T a duplicate post. So what IS a duplicate, could you explain that?

        • @AussieDaddy:

but you've said the69thhokage5's expired on October the 7th, so TLDR's post was legit and not a dupe.

Just because a deal has expired doesn't mean it's not a duplicate as per the guidelines linked toL

          I'll quote:

          Exceptions:

The original deal is older than one month, and was expired or sold out between then and now.

This deal was expired, CHECK but was only posted 11 days ago not 30, thus it is a duplicate and doesn't fall under the exception.

Members post deals all the time when their own recent deals expire and they post the same item with savings of few cents as new deals.

If the new deal has a significant price difference then that's fine. In this case, it is the exact same price. The history to this is that years ago (if I can recall correctly) the Samsung Galaxy phone came out and everyone wanted it. Kogan was in its heyday and stocked this phone…well for days at a time and sometimes minutes at a time. They'd also drop the price by no more than a couple of dollars. OzBargain became KogBargain? or SamBargain and the front page was littered with the exact same phone deal non-stop and so in conjunction with community feedback we came up with these guidelines which have been tweaked over the year.

For example, Tightarse (who is one of my favorite deal posters around here) posts deals of the same items within few weeks apart as new deals,

Few weeks being the key operative.

Certainly if you feel there needs to be change with the guideline, then please propose it in the site discussion forum. The guidelines are always changing to reflect what the community wants.

        • @neil: Hey neil, I think TLDR just had a verbal swing at your mother!

kicks feet up and sits back

        • @TLDR:

However, how is it a duplicate when this was a new deal I organised with Gearbest personally with a different AUD price, different code and different stock availability numbers? I included these new details in my post because I thought people would want to know. You've merged my post and the69thhokage's post together, despite the two being different?

The item, price and store are the same thus it is a duplicate. I'm sorry you are upset but these aren't new guidelines. Take a think of the outcome of your variables.

Within the same day/hour/minutes, user A can post item x for $1 with code Blah, user B can post item x for $1 with code Blah2, user c with item x for $1 with code Blah3 etc. Just because the codes are different doesn't make it a new deal. The best example for that is Dominos deals where you'll have say 50% off pizzas but there are sometimes 30 or so codes that all give you the same deal. We mention a couple in the original deal but certainly wouldn't want 30 different deals posted resulting in the same thing.

I've explained out of stock and price (no change or no significant change) in the Kogan example above.

you have omitted vital information which fellow OzBargainers would have found helpful before making a decision to purchase.

Sorry, what information wasn't copied over?

        • @neil:

Guys, if you want the guidelines changed, please propose it. It's no skin off my nose as long as we can apply the guidelines consistently (or mostly consistently). Please do so in the site discussion forum as this is getting a bit off topic for a USB fan deal.

        • +3

@neil: It's just it is TLDR's first post ever and he made an exceptional effort to negotiate with a Gearbest rep to make it happen. I imagine it would have felt pretty crap having the post unpublished with all the effort and write-up. At this price point, it will also depend on how you (Ozbargain) determine a "significant price difference", would you have made the same call if the price were USD $0.98 or $1.02?

        • @sky blu:

I think most people wouldn't consider 4 cents a significant price difference. We use discretion, discussion, weigh up the total price. e.g. a 10% drop on a $1000 item to $900 is big but a 10% drop on a $1 item is not. In cases, where it could go both ways, we err on the side of the new deal.

Tell you what. We just got a new batch of OzBargain t-shirts and I'll give one away to TLDR if he wants. Depending on where he lives in Melbourne I may even hand deliver!

(and no, don't ask me for t-shirts. We'll be giving them away next month for our birthday).

        • +2

          @neil: Can't +1 you, that is a nice gesture.

        • +5

          @neil:

I was a bit sad before, but your offer has made me feel a bit better. I would love a free OzBargain t-shirt. Hand delivered would be great, now I can finally meet the great Moderator neil :)

        • @neil: Aight. I appreciate you for taking the time to explain that in detail, though the 'price difference' part is somewhat ambiguous (since the guidelines don't specifically mention it). Respect! And most importantly, it seems that TLDR is pleased with your offer after all. And don't worry, I am not asking for one. :D

        • @TLDR: hahaha nice win! I've never met neil or knowingly met any OzB members, but you are pretty much setting yourself up for disappointment if you already think neil is "the great"! haha :p

      • +1

Well I got one because it was, highlighted. Thanks TLDR.

    • +2

Thanks, got one with your code.
