A bit of a long post sorry but I want to put the questions at the end in context…
An artist friend runs a website to simplify the mail order gift giving of penis drawings to friends (a much needed service he argues). Importantly though, the website raises money for prostate cancer research.
Recently he launched a penis drawing themed charity month he has dubbed Knobtober (This - https://sendyourfriendapenisdrawing.com/pages/knobtober-2017). I suggested that he could do a Freebies post on OzBargain to raise awareness and encourage some donations. He kindly offered to give away 50 drawings and he sent me a coupon code to post the offer on his behalf.
I posted the deal on this website, set the expiry of the offer for 2 weeks and went to a meeting at work. I figured 2 weeks might give enough time for the 50 drawings to be claimed.
I checked my phone an hour later and there was a missed call from my artist friend. He had tried to call me 20 mins after I posted the deal to say the free penis drawings had all been claimed.
So a quick apology from me to the people who were trying to claim the free offer in the hour after it was posted but before I realised what had happened and could update the listing as expired. Also, I'm told there were a few people that made a donation when claiming their freebie so thanks to those people.
The questions I have…
Is it normal for anything that is free to be claimed so quickly or is this testament to the love of penis drawings?
What is something you've claimed just because it is free?
People here are all about getting a bargain. If it is free, they want it, regardless of whether they need it. Welcome to Ozbargain!
