Only if you get, answer and accept the voucher from the phone call.
I thought this was posted before and unpublished??

    • +1

Actually is this different to the call? I was told I only had 7 days to use it. This seems longer.

    • Yeah I posted it but everyone started shouting “spam”

  • -8

i just signed up. no voucher for me

    • +6

eBay will email the voucher to the email address provided by you within 48 hours of your submission.

        • +3

          wow…

      • still didnt happen. see reading the T&C's was a waste of time :-)

    • Did you eventually get your voucher?

      • nope. obviously too many negs here.

  • I'm not seeing where I add my email address?

    • Yeah me too, nor i can see the $20 promotional page. Any direct link? Thanks

      • +8

Try opening the link in an incognito window.

    • I can get it to show up on a clean install of Chrome I have, but not Firefox that I regularly use (and has a bunch of add-ons and adblocker and whatnot) regardless of what I try.

Not motivated enough to investigate any further than that.

      • What are you seeing when it does show? A dedicated page mentioning the offer?

      • just open the "firefox private browsing"

        • private didn''t work so will try chrome.

  • +1

Can my friend sign up, and use my PayPal account?

Or do we need a new PayPal account also?

    • +1

They could use your PayPal account but I would assume that your PayPal account cannot have any eBay purchases in the last 12 months to be eligible.

  • so much for loyalty …

    • +2

This is loyalty. By creating a busier site, everybody benefits. Sellers get more sales and buyers get a better experience.

    • +1

I agree, been an active eBay user and get nothing. Deactivate your account and then you will be flooded with offers.
I'm planning to set up a new eBay account now.

  • +3

    Not seeing this offer either.
Have tried wiping cookies, incognito and different ip address.
just seeing colorful "Get to Know Us" page with some hipster holding a shoe.
    No offer

  • +2

thanks for this, why dont ebay just email them instead of hiding it on the web page that an inactive ebay user wouldnt look at anyway haha

  • +1

So is it possible to get a voucher by registering a new account right now?

    • +4

Interested to know this, from last time it didn't work. It would be good to know the minimum age for a "new account" or whether you have to have this promotion emailed.

  • Try using Brave Browser, then opening a private tab, pasting the link from above. Worked several times for different addresses. (You need to close the browser each time)

  • So sick of missing out on stuff because I'm a loyal customer. Spent heaps on eBay this year as well as woolies and coles and Always get JACK SH*T from these deals. Boooo….. but ill still + it.

    • +5

Like most companies it pays to have more than one account, they'll usually target the inactive ones.

Same with loyalty programs like FlyBuys and Rewards, have more than one.

      • Serious question - does this mean we need to have an alternative Paypal account too?

        • +1

i have an inactive ebay account without paypal linked at all and i got the offer

  • +2

Seems to work if you just open an Incognito window.

  • +1

Started working - thanks OP perhaps it depends which server you got.
    Anyway all good now

    • +1

What did you do differently? I still can’t see it

      • Just started working as per TA's image above after some time

  • +4

I started private browsing and entered what was in TA's screen shot in the URL (also in the OP).

    https://welcome.ebay.com.au/whyebay

Manually copy and pasted it (not clicking the link). I then got the fields to enter your email for the $20 promo!

    • That worked for me thanks mate :)

    • thanks!

  • can someone confirm if you need a paypal account that hasn't shown an ebay purchase within the last 12 months as well?

    • Don't think anyone will be able to tell you yet as there is a wait to get the email confirmation.

    • you don't need paypal at all

  • I didn't get this, but I got $5 off any purchase over $20 on my two relatively new accounts

  • +2

Got the voucher within 10 mins of putting in email. Account inactive since 2015.

  • +7

Your eBay account has been suspended :( Got this after submitting request.

    • Are you serious?
Sheesh, I just but my eBay emails in just in case it worked.
Tell us more - what happened? Did they email you? You couldn't log in? Have you had a few breaches before and that was the last time?

    • +2

multiple accounts? I guess they really going tough on this voucher give-away

      • +5

I am dead serious haha my account actually got banned @King Tightarse, and no this was an account I made months ago because I was getting annoyed that I kept missing out on targeted offers.

Your eBay account was suspended because recent account activity has raised serious security concerns. We've taken this precaution to protect our members while we make sure that the activity doesn't cause harm — however unintentionally — to the eBay Community.

You won't be able to use eBay in any way. This includes using another existing account or registering a new account.

Any outstanding selling fees are due immediately, and any amounts that you haven't previously disputed will be charged to the billing method currently on file.

        Thanks,

        eBay

        • +1

God they take themselves seriously, don't they?
I would try calling them up and just explaining that you saw the code on a bargain site and thought it was OK for anyone to use. If it doesn't work you can just give them an extra big middle finger when Amazon arrives. I know I will the second a better deal comes along.
They have ripped me off so much over the years they can suck a big one.
Only thing i can think is that you had multiple accounts and entered the code one after another while on the same IP address - if that happened, that's probably is what got you noticed.

        • @King Tightarse: I was pretty careful, my main account is pretty active so I didn't even both trying with that, I applied for the voucher with a separate IP I normally use for my main account. I'm not too fussed about my throw away account being banned considering Amazon is arriving soon haha :) Thanks for the tips though.

        • @King Tightarse:
I'm getting nervous does it mean everyone who used the link on a secondary account might be getting banned on all accounts its unfair if thats the case especially because this deal was posted here, if someone did it multiple times thats understandable because thats unfair but its normal to have more than one ebay per household if there are several people using it.

        • @freebies8: was ur main account banned to or just your throw away account

        • @freebies8:
I have read more than once that they can follow people around and ban their other accounts too. Phone call might be a good idea? You hardly did anything wrong - cant believe they didn't just email you and say 'no voucher". I am pretty sure their main tool is ip/account association BTW
          Good luck, freebies8!

        • @freebies8:

I applied for the voucher with a separate IP

Really? How do you reckon they got you then?

        • It doesn't sound genuine to me. Report it as fraud to Ebay. You might be surprised.
Try logging in again on the same IP if you were only notified by a (spoofed?) email.

          Else -
Did you use a VPN? That might be the reason their auto ban was triggered.

        • @outlander: Not too sure tbh, the account I applied for the voucher with was an account a made months ago in order to receive targeted deals, It may've been banned because I created the account on the same ip as my main account however I ensured that I applied for the voucher with a separate IP. My main account didn't get banned because I didn't even bother applying for the voucher with it as it is fairly active. I didn't use a VPN either.

        • @freebies8: i see, but did you end up getting a voucher, if not, i wouldn't be too sure about its genuinity

  • +1

    Thanks, worked on chrome

  • just interested to find out who has received their voucher? I have waited for 3 hours, nothing happened.

    • Hasn't sent me my voucher yet, but said it was on the way so let's hope :)

      • +1

I got mine within 10 mins and spent it within the hour (per post above). It was the wife's account, with its own separate PayPal, which hasn't seen a transaction since 2015.

        • +2

I have waited for 24 hours, still nothing happened….

  • +2

    Thanks for this!

FYI - the link did not work in Chrome, but did in Safari

    • thanks this helped me. link didn't work in chrome, just in safari

  • +5

24 hours passed, still nothing happened. I guess it might be the issue of my email inbox. So I registered a new account and tried it again. after a few hours, the new account received an email from customerhelp.ebay and told me this account is now suspended (same thing happened to Freebies8 above).

  • 48 hours, still no voucher wonder what eBay is doing?
    Did anyone receive it yet?

    • Not on my wife's account (1 year old, no purchases).

Interesting zzyss has gotten their's, but no one else.

      • +1

I wondered it that was just co-incidental timing? Sometimes eBay send out codes to underused accounts as part of their normal operations. Especially seeing as nobody else has reported receiving theirs.

        • +1

Nope. Not co-incidental at all. I don't have the text on me right now, but the email referenced this promo.

  • +2

I got mine last night and it looks like the code isn't tied to the account.

    • As in you used it on another account? Is it a generic or personalised code?

      • +1

I haven't made a purchase yet but the coupon seemed to work at the checkout page on another account. The code doesn't look generic but I don't have another to compare it with.

        • Fair enough. Thanks for the intel.

        • +1

          @tomsco: Confirmed.

        • @haru:

If it is generic what was the code?

        • @exc3113nce: It's not.

  • +5

Anyone else not receive a code?
I've been waiting three days, nothing…

    • same here..

  • -1

    Not a deal.

    Can't change my + to a - lol

    • This is only for people who have….

not shopped on eBay.com.au in the past 12 months or you have never shopped on eBay.com.au before.

      • This is my wife's account, but after registering, she did not receive a voucher.

      • still waiting for one after a new sign up

  • +1

Sweet, worked okay for me. Signed up for an account Thurs 4pm, code came through Fri 11pm.

  • +1

tried 2 accounts doesn't work even though both are new :(

  • +1

has any got the code and if so is it generic and can they please share mine is not coming trough.

    • Not generic. Unique 16 character voucher code.

  • finally got mine had to go to live chat to get it sorted can confirm its not generic and one time use.

  • -1

12th? don't make shit up. report the post.

  • according to live chat, need to add address and dob.

they had to add dob manually though.. strange.

  • has anyone got it to work? its the 14th now.

    • +1

All it got me was banned :-(

      • +2

Lol, eBay is watching you like big Brother.

  • +4

    You're in the know
You know eBay better than the rest

    Didnt get the $20 voucher.

    • got the same email. at least i didn't get banned(!)

    • Same here. In my defense, the account is actually in my wife's name… a person that actually exists.

And as much as I'd love $20 off, I don't think it would be worth it getting my wife to call to request it.

At least I got the recent YIPPEE voucher to her account.

    • Here, have a free ban instead…
