7-Eleven $2 Wednesday Sandwiches, Chicken Caesar Wrap or Sushi for the Month of October

2770

This deal was pretty popular back in the past despite the questionable morals of the company and their wages debacle. Looks like $2 sandwiches or sushi for Wednesday possibly for the month of October. Their website has not yet confirmed this but the local 7-11 has already advertising for it.

Update

Main website has updated to confirm this deal officially. Ends Midnight Wednesday 25th October.

On the main splash page as a scrollable item.

Meh. They always hide the bigger more expensive sandwiches and only put out the cheap egg ones. Always cutting corners on either their staff or their products.

    • +1

I guess I'm pretty lucky to get the ones I wanted out of the ones I go to. The Suburban ones generally suck (they dont top up as much) but availability isnt too bad in the city stores.

      • +1

Sydney CBD store on the corner of Clarence Street and Erskine Street usually has them all and stocks up pretty often.

Worst case, you just ask the attendant and they go get it for you.

    • +4

I buy all the $7 ones lol. Doubt anyone gets the $5 ones while $7 ones are still available. Get in early!

      • Depends on what you want really. The $7 are usually the Combo Curry Egg, Ham and Cheese and corned beef and pickles or something similar. I usually go for the Chicken Lettuce and I dont mind missing out one sandwich slice to go for this option instead.

        • +3

Chicken Schnitzel, Chicken Parma, Pulled Pork, Roast Beef there are a few different ones other than the ones you mentioned. They have a new Souvlaki Wrap I was going to buy a couple of days ago won't mid trying that for $2 if included.

        • @El Grande: hmmm.. Interesting. I've never seen those ones in the $7 3 pack. or we talking $7 2 pack "premium" ones?

        • @bchliu: Premium ones. These have more filling so same thickness as triple pack.

        • +2

Lettuce spray that chicken lettuce sangas will be available.

        • I had a nice bacon and egg this morning too

        • I snobbed over the shelf full of Avo/Chicken (I dont like Avocados) hoping for Lettuce Chicken but couldnt find.. sigh.. regret now. I'll grab one on the way home maybe?

        • +1

          @bchliu:

I don't like avocado either but I eat it because it lowers cholesterol.

No way in hell am I giving up kfc lol

        • +1

@montorola: lol. Nothing beats KFC.. That's why the KFC Tuesday 9 for $9.95 offer is definitely more popular than this thread. lol

        • There's barely any avocado in the avocado ones anyway! Just a hint in the spread.

    • They did that to me with $2 pie day, wanted the $5 jumbo rolls early morning, and had sold out apparently?

  • +1

My 7-11 had a mouldy chicken sandwhich… I gave it to the clerk… a day later the same one was still in show… but youd assume lots of sales at $2 would mean lots of fresh stock to cover the day…

    • +4

Always reminds me of this whenever people talk about 7-11 food hygiene..
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5S0L-gLreiI

      • Thank you, come again… head rolls

    • Mould? Are you sure it wasn't avacado on the Chicken Avacado? It looks like fungus sometimes :D

      • +1

It was on the outside of the sandwhich and part of the texture of the bread, a few days out of use-by too… all perfect for mould

        • +2

That's bad. I've never had that problem and I eat at least 3-4 food items at 711 during the week (Pies/Sandwiches) and buy 3-4 coffees a day. I would tell the staff if they don't remove it then dob them in. Head office or Council.

        • +1

Not good, but I'd be even more concerned if it was still within date.

        • @El Grande:

          buy 3-4 coffees a day

          Damnnnnnnn Daniel

    • +4

      mouldy chicken

It's an ancient fungi chicken recipe. Store chicken in dark for 14 days…

      • +4

        Chicken and mushroom?

        • With ruby colour. Fine for the not loved ones.

  • +1

if $2 for sandwich AND sushi, i'll take them

    • ok ok.. I get the point. Title changed. :P

  • +17

The sushi is terrible. Don't bother.

    • +7

Confirmed. Sushi is actual worst ever.

      • actually, if you leave them to room temperature for few hours, they'll taste better.

        • +8

The Salmonella cultures makes it taste so much better.. :P

      • +5

I wish it was the same as the Japan 7-11 sushi, those are the bomb! Tuna mayo in those crispy nori sheets were the best!

        • +1

          So good at 108 yen

    • Worst of the world.
Even my dogs can't eat this.

      • Your dog has good palate

    • +2

Whole-heartedly agree. I'm not a fussy eater normally but thought the sushi was terrible!

  • +9

Chuck the sangas on the sandwhich press, tastes way better

    • what I'll be doing every wednesday, I walk past a 7/11 every day, never go in there except for cheap sandwiches.

I'd buy half a dozen and throw them in the fridge at work but someone always pinches those kind of things.

      • I've never understood the lunch stealing. Just WTF.. its worse than shop lifting.. you're not stealing from a company, you're stealing from a real person you know, who now has to go hungry or spend their hard-earned cash because of you. I just don't get how people justify stealing to themselves… I'd love to catch someone stealing my lunch just to question them and figure out wtf is wrong with these people.

    Love those darn sandwiches.

  • +20

$2 servo sushi… probably the cheapest way to get a few days off work!

    • That or the egg sandwiches :)

    • +2

I caught bird flu from their Slurpee machine.

      • I got bird poo from their Coffee Machine (at least that's what it looked and tasted like)

        • +3

Their coffees for $1 are actually really good. They give normal cafes a run for their money. Certain Ly better than the coffee club I tried in bris cbd

        • @chb:
Love their coffee… better than most coffee joints.

        • @chb: BP's $1 mochas are top notch I have to say. 7-11's aren't bad sometimes, but they seem to vary sometimes? Eg George Street Sydney CBD is never as good/pure (?) as other not so busy stores..

        • +1

          @pennypincher98:

I'll have to try the mocha next time I'm at BP!

        • -2

@pennypincher98: Mocha isn't real coffee though.

        • @smartazz104: define real coffee?

        • -1

@pennypincher98: Something that doesn't require the flavour of chocolate.

        • @smartazz104: Funny how the last time I had a cappuccino it had chocolate (powder) in it and I am sure you would classify that real coffee.

    • +1

      Great for weight loss too.

  • +1

    The egg ones are great

    • Does it really have egg in it?

      • +4

yeh they are real and honestly pretty dam good especially for $2

  • +5

the sushi has been there since the silent era

    • +7

That's why nobody knew about it, because of the silence.

  • +3

They don't wash the lettuce in those sandwiches

    • +6

meh, i dont wash the lettuce im my sandwiches

    • +2

This is why I make sure to wash my sandwiches before eating

  • +1

A bit off topic but not worth making a new thread for - while I was down at 7-11 (saw this sign, but OP beat me to posting) also saw that coffee melts were $1? I thought they were normally $2?

    • Coffee melt was $1 when I last visited 7-11. But it tastes terrible and I won't bother.

      • +1

I've had it before and it tastes alright… Like 7-11 coffee is a bit meh, but their ice coffees are literally ice cubes and coffee. The result? Some cold watery caffeinated beverage.. Didn't last two sips before it got tossed lol.

        • I personally tried it and hated it - it actually got me sick. The quality of 7-11 coffee really depends on the store. My local store has very good coffee, but the city stores don't sell good coffee

        • @citygal:
Never found it to vary anywhere yet .. city suburbs or country. Only diff is some dont have the chocolate for the cappuccino.

    • They are free on the 7/11 app

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/333276

      • +1

one and one only is free on the 7-11 app.

  • +1

The things I do for a 7Eleven sanga..

    • Does it include pushing a mower?

  • +7

if only the sushi was as good as the ones at 7-Eleven in Japan…

    • That one, they use a special cover for sushi and it would maintain crispy and fresh.

    • +1

7-11 Japan are really the pinnacle of convenience stores. They take "convenience" to another level really.

    • is it the same 7-11 company internationally?

      • 7/11 holdings inc

    • If only any Sushi was as good as those in Japan.

      FTFY.

  • The sushi they used to have was much better, not the best, but still a lot better than what they sell now.

  • How long does Mr. sushi stay on the shelves?

    2 week?

  • Nice deal for the sandwiches

  • +5

In addition to all of the other comments, they don't stock properly, so getting your hands on these cheap items on a Wednesday is really hard. Every Wednesday I went in to any 7-11 last time they had this running (regardless of the time of day), all I saw was an empty cabinet. It's just a tactic to get you into the store, hopefully while you're hungry, get disappointed, and then buy something at full price anyway because you're there.

    • That may just be your store? My local store is always stocked, and is run by some of the nicest and friendliest guys you'll ever meet. I guess each store is different!

      • +1

Yeah must be different, all 7 11 I go to at night when theres only one person they are niceish but they get annoyed if ppl come cos apparentely the graveyard shift is left with too many things to do for one person. They are also always asking me if my work has vacancies

      • It's a shame Head Office don't focus on a consistent customer experience in each store.
They can see what sandwiches are being ordered/sold so should be suspicious when orders change due to these offers or same varieties aren't available in each store.

    • Did you check on mon or fri to see if they actually stock it?

    • +1

Must be just your store. Mine had a full cabinet with stock expiring on the 7th.

  • +2

Chicken and lettuce ones are great!

  • +1

Found this to be hit and miss in terms of availability last time they ran this. Only purchased Sandwiches and found it was really dependent on the store.

My advice is to get in early. Saw some people frequently buy a few at a time - especially tradies. You can't be fussy given the price and most of the ones I had actually seemed fresh. Maybe I was just lucky.

    • +2

Technically, the more demand for it, the more fresh the sandwiches should be since they need to order much more and churn over much quicker (assuming they have multiple deliveries daily).

      • That makes sense. Also helps that I'm a bit of a stickler and will often inspect self service food and always try and get one from the back of the pile! 😁

      • One delivery a day towards the night and all sandwiches have a three day shelf life as does the sushi.

But you are right you'll get fresher sandwiches as the turn over is higher.

Though the Monday morning will assumdly be the least fresh if stock is rotated properly.

        Just 7-Eleven things…

        • Good to know. Will avoid buying anything "fresh" on Mondays then. Thanks.

  • +2

Must be hard for 7-11 workers spending their entire daily wage on one meal alone.

    • +1

It's also a joke that head office wipes their hands of the issue and pretends like they dont approve of the practice. They must be very incompetent in their jobs to not know.

  • -3

Just went to my local one at 2am right in time for a new sandwich delivery. I felt like a kid in a candy store.
7/11 employee said he was excited for this promotion. I told him to shh and start loading my car up.
